Asura's Wrath is a Beat-Em-Up game made by CyberConnect2 and owned in part by Capcom. A mix between Rail-Shooters, Arena Fighters, and Quick time events along with a fighter-esque style for its Lost Episodes Dlc fit together to make a great game.
The game tells the story of Asura, a short-tempered Demigod and father who does everything he can to protect his only daughter from pretty much everything other than humans. By utilizing a special energy called Mantra thats made from the souls of people (and can be given through prayer) Asura can become stronger and use his special transformations and abilities

[Mantra] This takes form as a meter over Asura's fighter portrait while fighting. This meter has multiple intervals (3) that can be filled. When enough meter has been gained, use taunt to transform into Unlimited mode(1 bar. Gives light super armor and a 1.2 damage increase. Longest transformation), Varja Mode,(2 bars. Gives a 1.3 damage increass and a 1.3 launch power. No super armor) or his Six Armed Varja Mode(3 bars. Gives 1.5 damage and 1.5 Launch. Shortest transformation)
[Quick Time] Attacks with this will have a input that if pressed will change the overall power of the attack and with some will activate a follow-up. Be careful, attempting to get the Quick Time input and missing will weaken the attack. The types of Quick Times are
- {Single} One input will be on screen at a time
- {List} a bunch of inputs will be on-screen at a time
- {Rapid} input(s) will appear in rapid succession
SPECIALSNeutral Special {Mantra Blasts/Rapid Fire Mantra}:Holding the special button will make a reticle appears infront of Asura. Moving this onto a enemy will
Lock On to them. let go of the special button to fire (note that this becomes stronger the more targets it has locked onto). alternatively, just pressing the button will fire off the weaker version that can be fired rapidly
Side Special {Special Finisher}:Asura spins in place smashing foes with his fists. If near a fallen foe, a button prompt will pop up. using this at that time will do additional damage and is inescapable and will gain additional range due to the mantra wave (this version will put Asura into overheat, removing this version of the move from use).
Up Special {Super Jump}:If used in the air, a rock spawns under Asura as he jumps off of it, obliterating said rock. If used on the ground, Asura merely jumps up at a 45 degree angle. [Quicktime:Single]A button prompt shows up during the entirety of the aerial version of this that when pressed makes Asura do a diagonal diving punch with meteor capabilities. The longer Super Jump goes without the Quicktime being activated, the stronger the Quicktime followup will be
Down Special {Quick Time Counter}:Asura does a counter. What makes this one different is that if its activated by a attack, Asura will then have to input the button as described in the on screen prompt that pops up. Failure to do this will make the counter fail
Final Smash {Burst}: [Quicktime: rapid] Asura does a Mantra filled punch forward. Anyone hit will be forced to watch as Asura beats them to pieces. Pressing the prompted button rapidly will boost the damage.
NORMALSJab:Punches Forward, then punches the ground, then does a rapid jab, then does a dual punch to the ground
Side Tilt:Kicks to the side
Up Tilt:Does a uppercut
Down Tilt: Asura sweeps the ground with his heel
Side Smash:Asura does a headbutt [Quicktime:List] Pressing the prompted buttons in order will make Asura headbutt the opponent (stunning them in place), then stomp on their foot, before launching a Mantra filled punch at their face (this version will put Asura into overheat, removing this version of the move from use).
Up Smash:Shoots a barrage of Mantra blasts upwards [Quicktime:Single]If someone is inside the aiming reticle, pressing the prompted button will make Asura locks onto a spot above himself and fire off powered up Mantra shots
Down Smash:Stomps on the Ground causing a small aoe attack to form on the ground
Dash Attack: Does a uppercut that (for some reason) launches its victims to the ground
AERIALSN-Air:Does 2 punches forward. On hit the end lag is reduced allowing for combos
F-Air:Similar to DK's F-air but faster. has a meteor effect
B-Air:Does a backhanded slap
U-Air:Fires 3 Mantra blasts upwards in quick succession
D-Air:Punches downward. It has a meteor effect
GRABGrab:Attempts to strangle the opponent by their neck.
Pummel:Tightens his grip
Forward Throw:Asura hoists the opponent over his shoulder and throws them forward
Back Throw:Asura forces the opponent behind himself forcing them to spin before punching them away
Up Throw:Throws the opponent up and then does a Guile style flash kick
Down Throw:Jumps up with the opponent in tow and then throws them to the ground
