So as I thought this morning, unfortunately, leak was the final roster.

But that's alright, I'm glad with the roster, but I do hope we get DLC with Mewtwo, Ridley, K. Rool, Waddle Dee, Chorus Kids, and a few others...
That's just me though.

Honestly, I do still think Ridley is coming. He's clearly not in the 3DS roster but I believe we'll see him for the Wii U release and will probably be DLC for 3DS.

I've always bounced between the two camps over him, both sides were very convincing. The believers who pointed out the size of the shadow, the movements, the long winded teasing, they made a very convincing case that Ridley was playable. Then there's the detractors who pointed out he didn't fit in the CSS (I've tried, it's impossible without big reordering) and the fact that we've already seen a fairly definitive leak while no leaks have been properly found on Ridley.

Both cases are very convincing so I've been stuck to choose which one is the most convincing and I now believe they are both right. The detractors are correct in saying that he does not fit in the CSS but that's because he is not part of the main roster on launch. The believers are correct in saying that he is playable rather than a boss on Pyrosphere and he will take a spot down the bottom as DLC so he doesn't mess up the ordering.

It's the only argument that really fits for me. If he's not in I'd accept it because we already have a killer roster, but on this particular argument this is my guess.

I really hope you're right Ganon. With DLC we could also get Wolf, Mewtwo, ICs etc.

Any excitement he could have for DHD and Little Mac is cancelled out by the fact that Snake and Wolf are gone and that he dislikes several of the roster choices (Lucina, Miis, Palutena, Rosalina, Bowser Jr, Greninja, Dr. Mario and Dark Pit).

I personally don't have much issue with the final roster, although I'm kinda sad that Ice Climbers are gone. At any rate, I'll live with it.

Ridley is too fucking big and don't give me that "well they resized Olimar/Bowser/Kirby/some other character that is reasonably proportioned and not a massive hulking dragon with a wingspan twice the width of your mother flattened and spread out who spends most of his screen time airborne" garbo because it's damn well true.

nobody cares about Mewtwo excepting 12 year olds and nostalgia-laden manbabies who desperately cling to the borderline unplayable first generation of Pokemon avoiding the fact that the series' mechanics have been polished drastically in the past two decades. regardless, mainline Pokemon is awful and you're awful for liking it. y'all plebs need to get on some Mystery Dungeon 2

regarding K. Rool, somebody I know and respect said something recently that really resonated with me:

secondly, if you hate Lucina, Palutena and/or Rosalina you are undoubtedly gay no questions asked

Overall from what I've seen, I'm happy with the roster. Almost every newcomer I'm hyped to try out, with the exceptions being Dark Pit, Lucina, Robin, and Palutena (I'm more neutral towards them because I know nothing about them).

Magicant is also absolutely the best Mother stage in smash so far imo. It looks amazing.

That's literally the only thing I'm truly disappointed with in regards to the 3DS version. The Ice Climbers thing was more of a bummed out about it at first but got over it quickly thing.

Still very hyped for this game.

When your sibling invested half the payment, its too late to cancel. He wants the game more than I do at this point and I don't want to do that to him. The roster killed my hype. -_-

If I can compliment anything, its that Magicant stage. Hands down the best stage Sakurai has made on the 3DS imo.

The roster overall doesn't bother me too much. The only thing that sucks is that Pac-Man doesn't have his butt bounce and rev roll attacks. They're staples to the Pac-Man World series and to the Pac-Man series overall.

I'm happy with the roster. My mains in Brawl were Mario, Kirby, Toon Link and Ike, and I very much doubted Toon Link after Spirit Tracks and Ike totally so they were a nice surprise.

As for the roster there are nice newcomers too. Rosalina, Little Mac, Greninja and Robin all look great to play. The others I'm pretty neutral on. The only two that I don't particularly like is Pac-Man and Duck Hunt. I like those two characters but I feel they tried to hard to represent their whole series rather than the actual character.  For example there's no reason for Duck Hunt to summon Wild Gunman in the same way it makes no sense for Pac-Man to summon Namco reps and the Ghosts.


EDIT: Working on the theory that DLC characters will not appear as trophies in Smash Bros, a titan has just fallen.
