Super Smash Bros Wii U/3DS Discussion (NEW)

Well, there's that. I'm not too fond of the addition of Dark Pit and I'm indifferent to Shulk and Dr. Mario, but I do like how Bowser Jr. turned out with him riding the Koopa Clown Car, and I'm interested in seeing DHD's moveset.

While I still hold out for the rest of the characters on my signature, Duck Hunt Dog is just too awesome to see happen.

There is absolutely no way you can possibly deny this now.
Dark Pit is the only addition I don't care for but fuck, how can I be upset when everything else is so fantastic? Letting one character ruin the game for you is stupid.

Because of my dissatisfaction of the majority of the roster at this point.

This is honestly why I don't really have hopes or wishes for specific characters to fill a roster for a Smash game. I'm so glad I put my expectations extremely low for this installment because all I hear from every fanboy of Smash just expressing utter dissatisfaction to anything that gets revealed whether it be pic of the day or direct reveal. I'm not calling you out as one of those people, but it really disheartens me whenever I hear dissatisfaction from people when they aren't satisfied with what they are given, which is probably a big reason why I dislike Project M for what it is and people claiming it is the best Smash game of all time all because it was built to be competitive, which in my opinion loses its charm because of that... but I digress.

As for what the leak has shown, I find it cool how Bowser Jr is shown in a Koopa Clown Car. It should make for an interesting moveset. Shulk I never really cared for as I've never played Xenoblade Chronicles and maybe never will because of its price, but I may use him when information is shown about his moveset. Glad Ganondorf is in but I have a feeling there will be no newcomers for Zelda, but oh well. Speaking of Bowser Jr., everyone is complaining about how Smash 4 3DS/WiiU is now apparently "Super Smash Mario" or something rediculous like that. Mario is the flagship series of Nintendo, so it deserves that much representation. Duck Hunt Dog, I don't really have an opinion of, even though he's my main in Crusade. If he is confirmed, I still feel skeptical about DHD, it'll be interesting to see what Sakurai decides to give him for his moveset. Dr. Mario returning is fairly odd and people are saying he should have been an alt costume for Mario, but to me like the way it was with Lucina, it makes sense. I don't know why Dr. Mario is returning though.

The roster is the main reason I ever got into Smash, everything else is just secondary to me, personally.

I did the same for these same reasons. I'm certainly not regretting it.

I can understand why some people feel it's too much, especially when their favorite series gets almost no reps. But when even the franchise title is an obvious play on Super Mario Bros, complaining like that while at the same time wanting characters like Zero-Two (or, you know, Goku) in the game is a bit ridiculous IMO.

Secondary enough to considering cancelling your preorder? Honestly, I don't disrespect your opinion, but I wouldn't go this far if I could preorder the game (I don't even have a 3DS yet, so there's no real point in preordering).

That said, I won't consider those leaks as true until we get more official information. Nintendo taking action to remove the videos doesn't necessarily mean it's real. At least, not completely.

There really isnt much interest for me with this game as it was before, which is why I'm having second thought. But since this is basically a leak, I'll wait for further confirmation before I consider canceling the preorder. Despite the evidence, about 10% of me feels it could be fake. Either that or Im still in a state of shock and disappointment

Just saying: I was like that when every XY pokémon leaked a few days before launch. I still want the game not only because of the new additions to gameplay, but I actually want to have some of the pokémon I initially hated in my main team.
I can understand your decision, just remember you're getting the chance to play earlier than many people.

I find it odd how the supposed roster is missing the Mii Fighters though... Why go through the trouble of having some confirmed characters missing? I believe the leaker doesn't want to risk being confirmed as fake by doing this, but isn't this supposed to reveal every character?

The leak is solid now. Todays POTD shows off two things previously unseen except for leaks. Those things are Spectator Betting, and Omega Stages.

Dr. Mario, Lucina and Dark Pit.

It's interesting, because weren't the clone characters really badly received in Melee? And, well, Lucina has already been seen to be almost identical to Marth in her animations, moves, everything. It's curious why they'd go in this direction again.

Well, clones are far easier to make and are thus an easier method of expanding any roster. I suspect that they were included under pressure from limited time in order to have a roster which appears larger.

Yea and im guessing that wario will be dlc too. In his trophy leak it only mentions him as a fighter in smash bros. Not enough info though.

Another little tidbit. There was another official image dump for Meta Knight and Palutena. Nothing hugely of note but we did get the first look at Dark Link and Dark Zelda.

@Gamey: I've seen a lot of people using this method to confirm or deconfirm characters but the truth is it's almost always an illusion and is in no ways evidence. An example is Marth, Male Robin, Female Robin, Lucina and I think Ike too. All the facial features on their renders all match up to each other.

The layout is identical, and this is from the "Tips" menu I suppose. Look beside Gerudo Valley, it has the same icon and everything. I believe this leak more than ever now.

Today's PoTD reconfirms the challenge area from Brawl, along with their Golden Hammers. Apparently the Wii U and 3DS challenges will differ in difficulty, with Wii U challenges being harder. Also...

Some of you may have already seen this on Reddit.

The graphical inconsistencies basically confirm that the leaks we have received are from an earlier version of the game too. Meaning that anything we see in the menus are still subject to change.

That being said, there's no way things like characters, stages and modes are going to be changed.

Guh, all this wait for the final roster is making me more impatient for 0.9

Okay the Friday POTD was a complete dud, there's a Direct today, Sakurai said along with the Robin trailer that we were "nearing the end of trailers", and there's just over two weeks to release. Looks like a perfect storm for a new character trailer.
