Super Smash Bros Wii U/3DS Discussion (NEW)

I think Sakurai really spoiled us with this Direct that it gives us more than the basics of what to expect for Smash 4. Then again, with the 3DS version coming out in 4 months or less, he will have to get a lot of info out to convince customers to buy it.

With such long gaps between big reveals, it was pretty much needed to perpetuate hype.

Greninja Side B confirmed to be Shadow Sneak. Which is slightly out of canon because in the main games Shadow Sneak is a move that deals damage and has increased priority, whereas this seems to be all based on movement.

So then essentially Greninja's moveset is:
Water Shuriken (Neutral Special)
Shadow Sneak (Side Special)
Hydro Pump (Up Special)
Substitute (Down Special)
Ragnarok Night Slash (Final Smash)

Pretty cool stuff!

A small thing today, but it confirms the 3DS stages will also get "Final Destination Variations".

Lugia and Latias confirmed, both of whom were in the Greninja trailer.

EDIT: Looking through more of the new photos, looks like tether will be back in some form.

First image is the Plasma Whip Side Special. Which was a tether.

Second image is Neutral Air. Which was not.

First one was a touch-up of this fake made by a Project: M dev.

The orb is white too, in comparison to the blue on Pseudo Palutena.

I was just browsing the web and came across it.  It would confirm the theories on the male Wii fit trainer if true. (Also, that Little Mac alt looks sick)

I personally don't buy it.

First one is confirmed true, Wire Frame Mac and Male WFT have been confirmed as acts in the Direct.

The second one is confirmed false, google "Ganondorf Twilight Princess" any you'll see his image on that "leak" is just his promotional image for that game.

No, there was a previous Punch-Out game where that was the view of Mac, I think it was Super Punch-Out.

Also, @Greninja, that rumor does seem interesting. If we get Raiden, I actually think we won't get Snake, however. I think Raiden may replace Snake.

We'll he only stated he played Raiden, it's very possible that Snake returns and Raiden replaces Grey Fox as the AT.

I would want this to be the case too, I prefer Raiden but we have enough ninjas on the roster.

Parasol from Melee confirmed? And Wadle Dee too

Not really no, the quality of the Parasol model makes me think it's the weapon the Waddle-Dee was holding in Smash Run.

AEM, honestly no. I was slammed with schoolwork at the time of the direct. I suppose I could have checked the website, but I just figured everything would have been mentioned here, so I didn't bother. Sorry if that's unintelligent of me. You don't have to condescend me, however.

To be fair, everything announced should be in the OP of this thread, so

So far, everything announced for SSB4 has been posted on the OP (with the exceptions of Lugia, Latias, alternate costumes, & Smash Run due to being too occupied to update).

Even if the OP on this thread is not updated at times, there is also a hyperlink to the Smashboard's confirmed contents thread on the very beginning of the OP. That source is the specific and most-recently updated info of Smash that you can find anywhere.

I apologize if there are certain info missing. School has been hectic and I'm the only mod who puts the time to update the OP. Plus, the reason a majority of the contents are not specified is because of Forumotion's text limit on a post.

I don't know if you want to put this in the OP, but I've made a list of every Character, AT, Pokéball and Item veteran that is still unconfirmed to return. I took info from that thread in the OP and Smashpedia to make the list.

I didn't include Stages because so far only two have been confirmed to return (Not including Battlefield and Final Destination, which both had big revamps). I also made sure to include everything even character and things that have no chance of a return like Pichu or Young Link (Unless they have a 100% de-confirmation).

Now, I haven't mentioned it yet, but I really like the rainbow trail behind Yoshi's egg! But, is it just me, or in the direct, does it look a bit... heavier? I may just be crazy, but it looked heavier to me .

On the note of new items, pretty sure the Galaga alien ships are AT, the boomerang is from ALBW/ALTTP and the special flag is originally from Xevious.

Oh, and I think there is more than 14 returning items.

So what do you think the length of time is going to be now until the next character? I don't really expect one tomorrow but I think next week wouldn't be out of the question.

Really? You think the boomerang is from ALBW/ALTTP? Idk what those are, but I'm pretty sure it's from SMB3DW/SMB3DL, because

They look very simular, and seeing that Mario Kart 8 is also getting the boomerang as an item, I wouldn't be surprised if this is based off 3D Land and World.
