I was never fond of Assist Trophies myself, but it's still nice to see SK in the game.

I would had thought that it would've been a Skyward Sword character or Tingle to be the Zelda assist trophy. However, I'm still pleased to see Skull Kid.

There's no rule that there can't be another Zelda AT.

Mario had 3 in Brawl.
Skull Kid is a pleasant surprise, though.

I really hope Skull Kid will deal out masks for the players.

Ahh it's so beeaaaautiful... Although I didn't expect Skull Kid at all. I wonder what he's going to do.

I like how Sakurai had to make sure he said Skull Kid was an Assist Trophy

Xerneas use Moonblast and Skull Kid use Moon Crash . Its super effective !

Well the VGX is today, Nintendo will have screen time for the first time at the VGX.

I heard somewhere that Reggie is going to announce something "big", yet this may be wrong. I have my hopes for a new character though!

Fire Emblem: Awakening
Pikmin 3
The Wonderful 101
Animal Crossing: New Leaf

This is a list of eligable games that have been nominated, I doubt we'll be seeing a Mario character, or a Fire Emblem character so soon after Marth. I'm also doubtful that Pikmin and Animal Crossing will get a further rep.

I'm guessing then, that if there is a character it will be from either Pokémon, or The Wonderful 101.

I would love to see a Mii as playable, I know a lot of people wouldn't be but there are a lot of games now that the Mii could take representation for, including some of Nintendo's best selling games of all time.

New item 'The Steel Diver Sub', shoots torpedoes.

Cool. The game was okay, despite the clunky controls.

It's really nice to see obscure franchises getting represented in this game.

Gives me hope we'll see some Elite Beat Agents soon.

Between the "Hocotate Ship Bomb" and the "Steel Diver Gun", Sakurai's really taken some liberties for items this time around...

Though I do find the whole "making items cute" quite disturbing coming from a man in his 40's. lol. None the less, I really like the reference of a obscure franchise. I wonder if we will see anything from Dillon's Rolling Western or HarmoKnight.

Why hasn't a BitF comic been made about Olimar holding his ship in his hand and feeling huge and then Bowser is standing next to him with an eyebrow raised yet.

In other news, I think the vehicles-as-items thing is real cute.
Too bad we cant actually pilot those things. Big CLunky Battle Sub on a stage shooting torpedoes? yes please.

Honestly, if I knew that Steel Diver was going to have some sort of appearance in Smash 4, I would've expected a Steel Driver as an assist trophy. But since the ship is now a missile-shooting gun, plus we also got the Hocotate Ship Bomb, I wonder if it takes away from the Cracker Launcher from Brawl as far as becoming a returning item.

Also, I see that its been over a month since Marth was revealed. I wonder if another confirmed character is expected this week or the next. So far, every character except Toon Link have been confirmed during the 1st half of a month.

Hopefully the next character will be this week, I think it's about time we got a Newcomer, we've had plenty of Veterans and I'm itching to see a new face.

Something tells me that we wont be seeing any new faces in 2013, unless Sakurai gives us one during Christmas time for the occasion. Yet, that is just my wild guess.

i feel like the christmas update would just have a bunch of party balls and crates and maybe another new item

Looks like we may be getting this game a hell of a lot faster than first thought

I thought that it was coming too soon, but actually Melee was made in little over a year, so I'm not worried it's been rushed. Mind you, I don't think Sakurai would let it pass unfinished

I highly doubt that this is true. Not to mention that this rumor is like a week or 2 old already.

Nintendo is known for many delays. They can't even get Wii Party U, DKC: Tropical Freeze, etc out on their original time. So how will a big project like SSB4 be out on time, none the less this soon?

I can't picture SSB4 coming out this soon, especially since Brawl took more than 2 years to 3 to develop and SSB4 has been under development for a year and a half. Mind you that Sakurai is making both a Wii U & 3DS version which both are very different experiences. Honestly, I would be shocked if this game doesn't get a delay. My expectation is that this game will get delayed into 2015.

I may be wrong, but it looks like that might be a New Leaf stage for the 3DS?

I was wondering on whether he was a boss or a stage hazard, but based on what I see, I assume stage hazard.
