Tier List: this has been WIP for FAR TOO LONG

seriously, I've been developing this for months. I might have made 300 changes since the original list. I'm still unsure about the character positions. By the way, this is based entirely on theory of potential, if anyone could show me tournament statistics that would be very useful. The difficulty here is that there are 62 characters, which are hard to wade through and say 'actually (x character) is worse than all of these' and know where to draw the line. Plus, there is no way I can learn how 62 characters work, with a bit under half of them I just have a basic idea and with most of them I still don't grasp many of their specific combos, etc.

Notes: Hazards, Items & Final Smashes off (FS on 300 would completely revolutionize this), most testing is done on Pilotwings, but also Burning Tower and Outer Space. Crusade Airdodge. (this mostly buffs Bowser, Luigi, Ice Climbers, and Mewtwo)

S: Gooey, Mega Man, Fox (borderline OP characters)
A+: Meta Knight, Saki, Pac-Man, Ganondorf, Falco, Luigi, Pikachu, Klonoa. (great characters)
A-: Ashley, Mr Game and Watch, Geno, Snivy, Toad, Shadow, Marth, Weegee (sleeper A+ characters)
B+ Wario, Peach, Chun-Li, Ness, Knuckles, Mewtwo, Bomberman, Sonic. (ok characters)
B- Goku, Ryu, Ristar, Toon Link, Snake, Ice Climbers, Tails, Donkey Kong, Crash. (not much worse than B+)
C+ Bowser, Mach Rider, ROB, Little Mac, Evil Ryu, Samus Aran, Petey Piranha, Krystal, Link, Jigglypuff, Mario. (slightly mediocre characters)
C- Duck Hunt, Lucario, Yoshi, Ridley, Olimar, Rayman, Captain Falcon, Waluigi, Pokey Minch, Tingle (characters with little potential)
D Zero Suit Samus, Kirby, Pichu, Phoenix Wright. (dreadful characters)

Ashley, Mr G&W, Sonic, Goku, Evil Ryu, Little Mac, Link, Ridley, Yoshi, Captain Falcon, Duck Hunt

You do realize that 0.9.1 is around the corner (or maybe it's miles away, or in Crusade Hell, we don't know), right?

yes. All three.

Nice list and kudos for the dedication! "Just around the corner" is subjective, anyway.

For now, I can only disagree with Cap Falcon's placement. IMO he should be at least B-.

Pichu and Phoenix Wright are on the last places? Oh, if you only knew...

I'd say if Crusade airdodge is applicable, Bowser should be much higher.

But this is a nice tier list. Kinda unnecessary right now though.

I'd argue a case for Olimar as the worst character.

There are more than 48 characters OP. The public version has something like 62

Could I see your explanation for why you have Mega Man as borderline O.P.? I always thought he was mediocre at best, I feel he struggles killing and comboing.

Pichu is a ton of fun, though I can't speak to his viability.

I see Petey as an A-. He's got some very nasty stuff at close range and solid spacing, not to mention good recovery and heavy.

I honestly think Goku is not very good in 0.9, probably B-. He's just... tough to play right. Hard to explain. He excels at ledge guarding, but I can't think of many reasons to play him otherwise, competitively speaking.

Otherwise, I like this list.

While my main is Evil Ryu I have to say I haven't played online yet (only have played against max level characters), so I have no idea how good he is against actual players.

-Epic recovery which has no hurtbox but doesn't need one, it'll just fly past his opponents.
-great projectile game with Nspec, Bair, Dtilt and Ssmash, each having their own uses.
-Up Air is just ridiculous
-his throws are passable, and in some situations can be useful
