| CHRIS REDFIELD TAKES ACTION! Character Image: https://servimg.com/view/19390879/3 Description: - WARNING, A LOT OF TEXT (that totally wasn't taken from the RE wiki at aaaalllll):
Chris Redfield is an American Special Operations Unit Captain of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA), of which he is a founding member, along with his long-time partner; Jill Valentine. At 17, Chris joined the United States Air Force. He demonstrated outstanding firearms handling and was trained rigorously in hand-to-hand and knife combat, and took part in missions overseas. He has been described as "uncompromising", "possessing unwavering dedication" and having a "high level of adaptability". However, Chris was constantly coming into direct conflict with his superiors. Unable to settle these disputes, he chose the path of early retirement at around 23–24 years of age. After leaving the Air Force, Chris started drifting across the U.S. and eventually got to Raccoon City; where he applied for the new S.T.A.R.S. force - an elite unit mostly comprised of ex-military personnel, and created to quell the increase in the number of cases involving terrorism. He was immediately accepted, and recruited into the lead Alpha Team with Albert Wesker as captain. He served as both a point man as well as Alpha team's co-pilot, and was known for his marksmanship ability It was here that he also met his future partner and closest friend, Jill Valentine, and the two bonded with each other. He then got involved in the "Mansion Incident", and a lot of crap happened, go play the games, I ain't going to keep copying the wiki that much. Chris is close to his friends and family, specifically with his younger sister Claire and his partner Jill Valentine, whom he would both willingly give his life to protect. He also establishes bonds with the people he works with or their respect (Rebecca and Wesker for example) or admiration. He cares greatly for the life of innocents, something that caused him to argue with his superiors in the military. However, during the Il Veltro incident, Chris was shown as a generic typical "soldier", focusing only on the mission and ignoring all of Jessica, his partner's advances. When asked by her whether he trusted her or not, he remarked "Trust is measured by actions not words". He also has a level of professionalism; he never once berated Jessica for her flirting and just focused on the mission. However, when Jill was in danger, he quickly switched focus completely onto rescuing her. During a BSAA mission to capture Oswell E. Spencer, Jill sacrificed herself to save Chris from Wesker, while he could do nothing to protect Jill. Jill's perceived death was a very serious blow to Chris personally. Ever since that encounter, he became distant and cold-hearted. It also psychologically scarred him such as when Wesker opened the bomber door and Sheva was almost pulled out to her death, he had a flashback to Jill's death and how he was unable to do anything and almost didn't grab Sheva's hand to save her. This made him impulsively/instinctively endanger himself to not repeat the same mistake with Sheva. In RE5 proper, Chris is initially shows a cold acceptance towards most of the grisly circumstances presented in the mission and shows little concern for its location or who he'll be working with. Immediately after meeting Sheva, she asks him if he'd "rather be in America than in a place like this". Chris dismisses the notion, noting that America "has its own dark side". She notes his lack of patriotism, and Chris merely states that he's a realist, noting that America is "a capitalist society" and that "not everyone is cut out for that kind of pressure". He considers that there are opportunities to be had, but as far as he sees it, "at a price". "If you gain, someone else loses," He concludes. When Sheva says that he doesn't sound like any American that she's ever met, he points out that the great thing about Americans is that "we're all different". Chris' reactions to the various threats he's faced vary over the years change with his experience. During his initial encounters with zombies and B.O.W.s in the Spencer Mansion, he was angered that it was all set up by Wesker (though in truth, the outbreak was caused by James Marcus; Wesker simply took advantage of the situation). Following the events at Rockfort Island and the Antarctic Facility, Chris begins to categorize people like Albert Wesker into simple criminal personalities, refusing to acknowledge their views and immediately dismissing them as evil. This is most apparent during his first encounter with Sergei Vladimir, where he refers to him as "another Umbrella psycho", despite the latter's various machinations since before the Mansion incident. Chris then views Wesker's world plan in Kijuju with the same disdain. After he and Sheva board Wesker's stealth bomber, he is even sarcastic about the serious implications of Wesker's ambitions, going so far as to mock Wesker for taking his plans from "comic book villains" and dismissing him as "just another of Umbrella's leftovers." By the time Wesker is killed, Chris is confident that living in a world without fear is worth fighting for, and the cause of combating bioterrorism exceeds all personal costs. During the events of Resident Evil 6 Chris shows deep concern for his comrades and men. He is very quick to assure rookie BSAA operative, Finn Macauley, that his teammates have his back and that "No one gets left behind." He shows anger when his men die in the line of duty. This was farther shown when Leon confronts him and prevents him from the woman in the blue dress, angrily stating "I lost all my men because of her!". However, despite this and the fact he and Leon haven't interacted much in person, he did seem to respect Leon highly as Leon was the only one able to snap Chris out of his vengeful rampage. During the events in Lanshiang, Chris' focus was entirely on catching Carla, and his reckless pursuit of her cost the lives of several of his men. Chris calmed down somewhat after being confronted by Piers, and regained most of his composure after his heated standoff with Leon. Due to the many years of battles against Umbrella's legacy, Chris revealed to his partner his intention to retire from duty, stating that he "cannot let this war follow him". Chris resolved that his final mission would be to rescue Jake, and asked that Piers take his place, despite his partner's lack of confidence in his ability to succeed him. When confronting Jake Muller for the first time, he notes something familiar about him, noting the features from Albert Wesker. Months later when saving him, he learned that Jake is Wesker's son and allows Jake to fire at him for killing his father, though he misses on purpose stating that there are more important things at stake. When asked why he revealed this to Jake, Chris states that he has every right to know what happened to his father, no matter what grudge he has against Wesker. At the end of Chris' campaign in Resident Evil: 6, Piers Nivans, his second in command, sacrificed his life for him, by injecting himself with the C-Virus that they got from Carla in order to save his captain from Haos. After they supposedly defeated the creature, Chris tried to take him with him into the escape pod, however, Piers refused, and before he pushed Chris into the escape pod, Piers gave him his B.S.A.A. badge. Chris ordered his lieutenant to open the door, however Piers didn't follow his orders. As the escape pod drifted into the sea, Chris saw the underwater facility collapse, and Haos broke free once more. The monster clutched unto Chris' escape pod, however, he was electrocuted by a powerful jolt of electricity that looked like the one Piers had, suggesting that he saved his captain's life again. Being the only surviving member of his team by the conclusion of the Lanshiang Incident, Chris, although still shocked by the deaths of his soldiers, decided to continue his duty fighting against the bioterrorism to honor his fallen comrades and the final wishes of this second the he continue to fight for the future. Chris is proficient with many types of weapons, particularly handguns, shotguns and sniper rifles. He is an expert marksman and once the S.T.A.R.S. top sharpshooter who won a shooting tournament, being the victor over Forest Speyer. His accuracy, precision and focus is fantastic, enabling him to hit long distance targets accurately. Chris' exceptional shooting stance grants him full control over his weapon's recoil, being able to retarget immediately after every shot. Chris even shows this ability while dealing with heavy weapons. In addition to his weaponry skills Chris is very tough as an unarmed combatant. Chris was proficiently trained in several fighting techniques such as Close Quarters Combat (CQC). He is also an experienced knife fighter. In Resident Evil 5 he has put himself through rigorous physical training to increase his muscle mass, making him incredibly strong and resistant. He is capable of sending lesser enemies flying, and able to bring the largest to their knees with a single punch. Chris is seen facing Albert Wesker in hand-to-hand numerous times. Though Chris had no chance in beating Wesker in the past, due to his superhuman abilities, Chris managed to beat Wesker in Resident Evil 5 due to his extensive physical training. At some point in RE5 Chris tackled Wesker which knocked him back a foot. Chris strength was such that he was able to punch a boulder (Everyone's favourite scene) into submission several times his size (and weight) into lava during the final fight with Wesker. In RE6, Chris is capable to press lift enemies such as J'avos in order to throw them away. He can also use his bare hands to rip enemies apart or brutally impale them with their own severed tentacles. Chris is a rougher fighter whose moves are often brawler-like (although he was already seen combining punches with many types of kicks as well). While fighting Wesker, Chris also displays great feats of stamina, endurance and recovery abilities, as he is seen taking some of Wesker's most powerful hits without falling unconscious, immediately getting up to hold the fight to the end. In Resident Evil 6, Chris is brutally bludgeoned by a vicious Napad. Having sustained a series of blows to his chest, Chris survived with no major physical injury. This event, however, resulted in an induced amnesia due to Chris having his head bashed against the ground. Chris is also very fast and agile, which is surprising considering his size. Additionally, his rapid reflex reactions allows Chris to immediately respond to any incoming attack. He occasionally also shows some acrobactic feats. During a raid on Umbrella's base in Russia in Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles, he was caught in a trap which activate a series of laser beams in a small corridor. Chris managed to perform a backflip to dodge and avoid being cut to pieces. While facing Wesker, Chris was shown to be able to move quickly to evade his deadly attacks and even performing a side roll to avoid being shot. Redfield is also an expert alpinist, as he was able to reach Rockfort Island by climbing its rocks despite the lack of a security gear. Chris may also have a certain understanding of mechanics; he is able to reactivate a missile and use it to blow down a bulkhead door during RE6. Like Piers, he also has a certain knowledge in hacking doors during Chapter 3 where both him and Piers are locked up in the prototype testing room. Chris' skills and training always lead to him holding a high rank. He was chosen for S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team, and he was chosen as a Special Operations Agent in the BSAA, later becoming a Special Operations Unit Captain. Chris' abilities are so honed, despite having no memory of being in the BSAA, he was able to efficiently fight B.O.Ws lead the BSAA with just his fighting instincts and his muscle memory. Oh boy that is a lot.
Why this character?: Resident Evil has plenty of Nintendo relevantcy with having the Revelations series being releasted on the 3DS, along with the first game being remade on the Gamecube. To boot, RE along with Silent Hill, helped put survival horror as a mainstream genre. Now while I did use Chris, Jill and Leon are equally as important and popular, and are also deserving of a slot on the roster but I think Chris is the MAIN main character but you may disagree with me. The Basics Series Symbol: The Umbrella Corporation logo. https://servimg.com/u/f86/19/39/08/79/umbrel10.png Idle: A stance that's ready for any sudden attack. Walk: Walking with his knife out. Jump: A strong jump up with the bulk of his legs and a midair spin for his double jump. Dash: A straight run forward. Crouch: Lying on his stomach, Chris has his pistol out, ready to shoot. Normal Moves Jab/Combo: A normal punch that goes left, then a backhand slap with the same hand, then uses a rook to finish. Side Tilt: A knife swipe combo as you continue to press the attack button, that starts with a diagonal down left swipe, then a diagonal down right one, a pure horizontal slice, an upward strike and finally ending with a downwards thrust with the knife. Up Tilt: An uppercut that requires Chris to crouch to charge power (Has a slight green glow) Down Tilt: Chris opens fire with his Nine-Oh-Nine pistol, shooting a couple of bullets before stopping (3-5 per attack). Has some recovery time after attacking to stop spam. Dash Attack: A straight lunge punch that can hit multiple players. Ledge Attack: Chris pulls himself up and preforms a body tackle. Get Up Attack: Spins around with one leg before getting up. Aerials Neutral Air: A double handed fist downward that can meteor smash, like Mario's F-Air. Forward Air: A shot with the Škorpion vz. 61 Submachine Gun. Backward Air: Quickly shoots the Assault Rifle for Special Tactics behind him. Up Air: A fast knife slice upwards that can juggle. Down Air: A shot from the M3 shotgun. Lifts Chris up a tiny bit, good for stalling. Specials Neutral Special: Pale Rider: Chris pulls out a magnum with a HUGE barrel that can lightly hit players. Chris shoots one bullet that can easily break shields, but isn't that strong. Side Special: Stun Rod: Chris swings the Stun Rod in an arc in front of himself, stunning players in his path. But if you hold forward it becomes a horizontal slice that has more knockback, but a smaller hitbox. Tilting down after the initial input makes Chris spin the Stun Rod around himself, and tilting upward makes Chris swing upward. If used in the air Chris spins in a circle with the Stun Rod, hitting everyone around him. By smashing the input, Chris instead throws a Flash Grenade. It's quite weak, but it can stun in a bigger hitbox, but if reflected it can stun Chris as well. Up Special: Hookshot: No, not Link's hookshot, it's gun-like device used to fire grappling hooks. This device allows you to fire a strong tethered wire capable of holding Chris' weight. The hookshot can reach great distances and will automatically latch on to edges of stages, or even latch onto foes dealing slight DMG and is also capable to latching onto those pesky edge-guarding players that like to hang from the stage to prevent you from grabbing the edge and pull them down with you! Down Special: Grenade Launcher: Chris shoots a grenade round out of his Grenade Launcher. If held Chris shoots all 6, but every 2nd grnade is shot upwards, delaying the explosion. There are 6 types of grenades that are shot in this order: Normal explosive ones, Flame grenades that cause a fire, Acid rounds that deal 1 damage every second for a period of time and can do great damage to shields, Nitrogen rounds that freeze players, Electric grenades that stun, and Pulse grenades that do 2 damage but have great knockback in it's explosion. After all 6 are shot, Chris reloads the Grenade Launcher, taking 3 seconds for each. He is defencless while reloading. Final Smash: Sweep Combo: Chris slashes the opponent with his knife ("It's all or nothing!"), preforms a body blow, fires all his weapons quickly ("Eat it!"), stuns them with the stun rod, shoots a normal grenade from the Grenade Launcher then shoots a rocket from an RPG ("Eat lead!") and finally pulling the Laser Targeting Device ("Link established"!) and shooting the Shango Satellite Laser ("Bring the pain!"), finishing the FS. If it misses it will continue anyway. Chris has super armour during the FS. Smash Attacks Forward Smash: Chris grabs the Rifle M40A1 and shoots forward. Up Smash: Chris lifts the Revelations version of the grappling gun so the barrels face the sky, hitting anyone nearby before Chris shoots it, ending with a grenade being shot out of it to finish. Down Smash: Chris shoots the Jail Breaker shotgun in front and behind himself. Grabs Grab: A simple reach out. Pummel: A jab with his knife, just like he did to that boulder. Forward Throw: Chris grabs a flamethrower and bathes the player in fire. Back Throw: Chris chucks a proximity mine behind him before throwing the player on top of it. The mine can be set off by other players. Up Throw: Uses the Hydra shotgun launching them upward with 2 shots of it's bullet spray. Down Throw: Pins the player down as he unloads the High Roller into them. Extras Entrance: Saying "Something's come up. Gotta go." to his team via his head piece and gets into fighting position. Win Animation: Chris says "Target acquired. Returning to HQ." as he puts away his pistol, giving a thumbs up to the screen. Lose Animation: Chris claps, looking impressed. Taunt: Yells "No matter who the enemy is, I won't back down!". Shield: Puts his arm up in a blocking stance. Dodge: A military grade evasive roll. Extra Attributes: Chris is slightly heavier than average, but can takes knockback like someone like Bowser, thanks to his training. Alternative Colours: BSAA Green, Goddess Red, Partner Blue, Vickers Yellow, African Purple, Businessman Orange, Wesker Black, She-Wesker White, S.T.A.R.S colours, Zombie Grey Final Notes Thanks for reading, as this took FOREVER. Man trying to be unique is hard. Always leave criticism and ideas below! Supporters: Lego Shaq, OmegaSteve777, VultureDuck, TaXMaN, eris27100

| Jesus lord remove that entire first thing.
Support. Totally. Now the moveset..
You gotta categorize these things. It's a bit disorienting. Like, classify by neutral moves, special moves, etc. Start off with the "why" this character.
Moveset is pretty great. Combines military weapons with simple fighting techniques that Chris utilizes. Step by step..
Neutrals are nice. Has 2 unique punch moves and of course a gun move. This is a good balance.
Specials are unique and really cool for what Chris can do. Not much problem with them.
Smashes are a bit too much shotgun, but they're still pretty nice. Still, how about a bit more variation?
Throws are especially cool. Especially the proximity mine one. Very unique for what grabs can be.
Nice extra attribute. You might wanna improve your reasoning.
First off, list the games he's been in on Nintendo consoles, and what he's done for gaming as a whole. Next, what has he done for Nintendo? Finally, overall summary of why he should be in. Then list some arguments and how you refute them.
Overall, support. But reorganize the thread.

Goddamn it the spoiler failed.
"You gotta categorize these things. It's a bit disorienting. Like, classify by neutral moves, special moves, etc. Start off with the "why" this character."
I'll fix it soon, but I can't rn.
"Smashes are a bit too much shotgun, but they're still pretty nice. Still, how about a bit more variation?"
I'll see if I can find a different weapon to replace the Up Smash, because I'm thinking of replacing the Drake with the Hydra anyway.
"Throws are especially cool. Especially the proximity mine one. Very unique for what grabs can be."
Phew. I thought it was the weakest part of the moveset apart from aerials.

Thanks, added to the to-do list.

| I have a brother who played Resident Evil ever sense he was around 5, and I enjoyed watching him play the game, so seeing a Resident Evil character would be very neat. Only question I have is if Chris's air mobility will be similar to Snake's, as both are as close to real humans in the game - JaegerKrieg wrote:

I'm pretty sure it's Krystal who is using the firearms. Snake only uses explosives in comedic ways |

Snake would need to be fast to be stealthy no? Think of it as ninja vs gunman. Which is quicker? The ninja; in this case, Snake. |
