| FIRST APPEARANCE: Luigi’s Mansion (2001) MOST RECENT APPEARANCE: Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam (2015)King Boo is the constantly cackling and calculating king of Boos. He commonly opposes Luigi and is basically the green plumbers rival; however, he has faced other heroes occasionally, such as Mario and Paper Mario in Paper Jam. He made his debut in Luigi’s Mansion as the main antagonist and the kidnapper of Mario, and after that appeared constantly in various spin-offs. He then popped right back up in Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, once again as the main antagonist. King Boo has a lot to offer for Smash. He can utilize his crown, teleportation, ad of course his abillity to just terrify other fighters! But there are always reasons for why he shouldn’t, and as always, I’m here to try and prove them wrong. ArgumentsANOTHER MARIO REP?Uh, yeah? Mario is the most iconic gaming series of all time. Adding a major Mario character with a unique moveset as well as being a well-loved character shouldn’t be the problem it’s made out to be. But He’s Always Floating.Bowser Jr is always hovering in the Clown Car in Smash. Why not just have King Boo float veeerrry close to the ground like Jr? He’s Not Really Important Enough. Why Should He Come Before [x]?Who says he should? Personally, I think Paper Mario should be added next for Mario. But why can’t King Boo come after him?? Look at this without “yeah but this guy” goggles, they won’t really help you. If you have any more arguments against King Boo, please post them below. Now then, onto the moveset. King Boo’s MovesetKing Boo is a character who has a lot of flair and a lot of ability to get up close. He can use his Down Special to stun opponents then go in for the kill! His weak point are his grabs; look at those tiny little hands, on top of being a Boo. His strong points are his specials and aerials. He also utilizes a lot of general Boo stuff, like Lady Bow’s slap from Paper Mario in his jab. His Neutral Special allows him to gain a lot of power and is a big gimmick of his. Well, here comes the moveset! King Boo’s NeutralsJab: King Boo slaps the opponent twice, then quickly turns around and slams them with his tail. Side Neutral: King Boo fires off some Spirit Ball’s. The more you tap your Side Neutral, the more Spirit Ball’s he will fire. They have a short range, but can juggle opponents. Up Neutral: King Boo throws his crown upward, and his crown fires off a bit of fire in a small vicinity before falling back on King Boo’s head. Down Neutral: King Boo hovers before zapping the terrain below him, causing electricity to swarm around the nearby terrain. Ledge Attack: King Boo summons a bit of sand and throws it in front of him. Get-Up Attack: King Boo spins around with Spirit Ball’s trailing around him. King Boo’s SpecialsNeutral Special: This is where an important gimmick of King Boo comes into play. If you use your Neutral Special, a Boo appears, and enters King Boo’s now-transparent body, increasing his power. However, this takes a few seconds and if you’re hit while doing it, you will lose not only the Boo you currently are about to have fly into your stomach, you will lose all Boo’s currently in your stomach. You can have 5 Boo’s in you at a time, which increases your power more and more each Boo you eat. Once you get to 5 Boo’s, King Boo is at his maximum potential, with all his stats being boosted for a duration of time before the Boo’s leave his body. Side Special: The gem on King Boo’s crown begins to glow and King Boo tilts his crown, before the gem fires a laser shot along the ground. The more you charge up this move, the farther the laser will go and how much damage it will do. Also, it will cause the enemy to be stunned for a brief amount of time when completely charged up. Up Special: King Boo teleports, but with a twist. If you charge up this move, he will teleport higher and does not go into freefall. You also will see his shadow move upwards as he teleports, so you can release the Up Special button at any time and he will teleport to the spot his shadow was at when you stopped. Down Special: King Boo puts his hands over his eyes and adopts the traditional “shy” look of hiding Boo’s, and when the Down Special is released, he reveals a frightening face and a cackle, stunning the enemy. The more you charge this up, the longer the enemy will be stunned, and at maximum charge the enemy accumulates some damage while stunned. King Boo’s AerialsNeutral Aerial: King Boo sends a Boo forward through the air, which will juggle enemies upon impact before dissapearing. Forward Aerial: King Boo throws a Spike Ball forward. If it doesn’t hit an enemy, it will land on the ground, and it can be kicked around before exploding. This can also spike off-stage enemies. Back Aerial: Same as Forward Aerial, but King Boo uses telekinesis and doesn’t turn around as he uses his mind to throw the spike ball. Up Aerial: King Boo fires a laser from his crown directly above himself. Down Aerial: King Boo opens a portal and goes through it before rocketing towards the ground. Can spike opponents but also has potential to kill King Boo because of how fast he goes. King Boo’s GrabsPummel: King Boo slaps the opponent before licking them twice. Forward Throw: King Boo flashes a terrifying face and the opponent looks briefly terrified before being thrown forwards. Backward Throw: Same thing as Forward Throw, but King Boo turns around before flashing his face. Up Throw: King Boo fires a Spike Ball at the opponent after throwing them slightly into the air, making them fly upwards upon the Spike Ball exploding. Down Throw: King Boo throws the opponent to the ground and smacks them with his tail multiple times before they’re sent forward from the ground. OtherFinal Smash, Costumes, Taunts and more coming very soon! End NoteHope you enjoyed the thread. I haven’t made one for a few months so I hope you’re glad to see me back to making threads! As always, make sure to leave feedback and if you support. Thanks for reading! |

| Final Smash: Bowser Costume ( Luigi's Mansion ) King Boo enters a giant Bowser costume and rampages through the stage, spitting fireballs.
Alt Colors: Just take a look at different coloration of Boos in the Mario/Paper Mario universe.
There's Pink ones, Purple ones... Ect.
Come on, Petey misses his best friend, get King Boo in. |

He'd likely be heavyweight actually. He'll be pretty big and he's always a heavyweight in spinoffs. |

| I'll support, but I think if he were to get in he should have his Luigi's Mansion eyes (the ones that are purple and stuff) to differentiate him a bit more from a typical Boo. |

| Are any of these attacks actually... his? Like, I know where the Down-B comes from, games like SMW, but, where do the other moves come from? I'm not a Luigi's Mansion expert, but I don't remember King Boo doing any of that stuff. Plus, while I'm not against having more Mario characters in, I think that THIS Mario character is like, SUPER low priority. I know you said not to look at it with “yeah but this guy” goggles, but I mean, there are SO many more relevant characters. Rosalina, Paper Mario, Bowser Jr., and even Daisy all have way more appearances than King Boo. Plus, Petey is kinda similar to Boo in a sense that he represents a more "unique" Mario series. That, and his moveset doesn't really bring enough to the table to justify his insignificance, in my opinion. |

Uh, yes? Majority of the moves are things he can do yeah. Research his powers and abillities. Exactly what series does Petey represent if not simple Mario? Also, I kinda forgot about Jr and Rosalina. They should be in first, but not Daisy over King Boo. Once Paper Mario, Jr, and Rosalina are in, I don't see who else could have higher priority then the King. And how exactly do you suggest I improve this moveset? I tried to make him unique as I could and I feel I did a good job. |

K, just looked into it and saw where those moves came from. Now I feel kinda dumb lol. - Lego Shaq wrote:

I wouldn't really consider Sunshine "simple Mario". While it is still main series, it's definitely way more unconventional than most other Mario games, even games like Galaxy. TBH I kinda think Boo has more to offer in this sense, seeing as Luigi's Mansion is much more unique than Sunshine, but we can't really do anything about that lol. While this isn't really a "rule", it does seem odd to have so many Mario characters with less significance, doesn't it? (Talking about Toad, Petey, Waluigi, even Geno to a certain extent). - Lego Shaq wrote:

I feel like at that point though, we WILL have reached too many Mario characters, even when taking the significance of the series into account. Of course stuff like this is subjective, but I feel like that would be going overboard, even as a Mario fan. - Lego Shaq wrote:

Now that I looked into the character more, I think the moveset's fine, there was just a lot of stuff I forgot/didn't know about in it. I do think the character should be on the lighter side, even though he is big, similar to Mewtwo (just not that light lol). |

Okay, I see what you mean about Sunshine. I'd classify it generally in the 3D Mario part of Mario which I think Petey and King Boo can represent equally. Yeah, maybe so. I feel like if it's balanced out with all other series getting the proper reps they need it won't be that bad though. |

Good idea. Why do you think Daisy should be in before KB? Waluigi can do everything Daisy could do better tbh, and King Boo would be much more unique without having to make up material like Daisy would. But thanks for the support. |

Oh, but King Boo is also recurring. It really depends on your definition of recurring. Honestly, it's not like we're seeing much discussion besides "support", right? |
