| As said, not in Crusade. And not a a FS, a normal weapon. It'll be bigger than Cloud's |

| Young Link needs to be in Super Smash Bros. Crusade. You don't need to change anything, just give him his moves from Super Smash Bros. Melee and you're in. For a Final Smash, have him put on that mask he uses to fight Majora's Mask with and transform him into that other Link for a brief period. |

Yes, they don't need to change anything, but the thing is: Young Link is a clone in Melee, and Crusade really hates cases of character cloens where the moveset could have been better So naturally, they will change Young Link's moveset to be centered around the masks, because let's face it: That's what Young Link should have been from the beginning for fans (even if that wasn't Sakurai's intention behind Young Link). |

Are you saying that he should be based more on the Mojora's Mask incarnation? |

Uh no you do need to change things. You could make him so much more unique by making him utilizing his transformation masks and Young Link-only things from OoT and MM. We do NOT need or want from what I see the Melee moveset |

| I finally could complete my Young Link full moveset, I won't post the specials because I alredy gave them before.
-Jab: Same as in melee, including the sword combo too, when you let go the button ''A'' he'll do a last hit, like the multi jabs in Smash 4. -Side Tilt: He hits with his shield, from the front of the camera to the background, vertically in 180 degrees approximately, if timed right, it can reflect projectiles. -Up Tilt: He covers with his Hylian Shield (like a Turtle on his shell), can be held for a while, during this only close strong hits can hurt him, projectiles shoot from any direction except from down will be reflected back. Works better against attacks that are coming upwards. -Down Tilt: He hits with a Deku Stick 3 times with his left hand, last hit is with his sword, which he holds with his right hand and it can spike. -Dash Attack: Assuming Link's dash attack is changed like the one he has in Melee/Brawl, he would do a somerassault and if you press a again he would attack with his sword. In case Link's dash attack doesn't change, it would be Young Link's dash attack in Melee. -Side Smash: Same as Link's dash attack in Smash 4, but he holds his sword with both hands and it can do a meteor smash. -Up Smash: Link holds his shield between his shoulder and neck facing upwards, and hits it with his sword's handle, as he does a short hop, if someone is hit by the shield(it does a bit of knockback and like 5% of damage), Young Link will do a surprise attack and hit with his sword in 180 degrees. -Up Smash(alt): Does a 90 degree slash with good killing power, it is followed by a 180 degree fast slash. Similar to Toon Link's Up Smash in Project M. -Down Smash: Din's Fire. Link crouchs and slams his left fist into the ground, creating a fire barrier that not only stops any projectiles throw at him (they burn), but it does lot of damage too. However, it has lot of startup and ending lag. -Neutral Air: Does a kick like in Melee. -Side Air:Does a 135 degrees attack (approximately) with his Razor Sword (https://2img.net/h/i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s628/Bukkitfox/razorsword_zps0fafbb00.png~original), the attack is slow, but it's powerful and a good kill move. It also has noticiable landing lag. -Back Air:He does two kicks backward, like in Melee. -Down Air:Like in Melee, it has the OP Fire Meteor Smash aswell. -Up Air:Young Link pulls out his Slingshot and shoots a Deku Nut. It will fall even if it goes off screen after going a bit up. In the air, it is a good killing technique, but if the nut touchs someone in the ground, it will force the opponent to go into a stun state for some seconds, except if it shields, reflects or blocks. -Side Throw: Kicks his opponent forward and launches a sword forward, reference to the original Legend of Zelda for NES. -Back Throw: Kicks his opponent backward, then throws his boomerang which pushes his opponent off stage, returns after some time and Young Link can't use his boomerang during the backthrow until it returns. -Up Throw: Throws his opponent to the air and then does his spinning attack, which multi-hits and then sends in an upward trajectory. -Down Throw: Since Link and Toon Link's throws changed, Young Link can use his classic thrown from Melee. -Tether Recovery: Uses his Hookshot, compared to Link and T. Link's versions, he can grab any wall from the stage, similar to Melee.
-Final Smash: Puts his Fierce Deity mask and transforms while screaming. During this form he can do a basic combo sequence with A he does a basic combo ( https://youtu.be/QUR1eYIoRTc?t=5m8s ) with B he slashes and ''beams'' are shoot (this https://youtu.be/jeY5yOT5jsc?t=1m3s ) and with A+B he does an ultimate attack https://youtu.be/dnBhmWsnQa4?t=11m3s and after that the transformation runs out immediately.-
-Taunt: Drinks a bottle of milk, recovers 3% or 5%. -Secret Taunt: By Pressing Down+Taunt button, he pulls out the Ocarina Zelda gave him, you can emit sounds with the C-Stick keys and A and B, press Taunt button again to pull off. -Victory Animation: https://youtu.be/0Evahua-3mw?t=7m29s -Lose Animation: Claps
Now I have a question for you guys, what voice could he use if he were to get in the game? OoT, MM and Melee's sounds or Hyrule Warriors' new voice actor/actress? |

| You know...this is my problem with Young Link suggestions: despite all the attention the 3D Zelda games get already in Smash (playable Sheik and Ganondorf but no Ganon, Zelda using magic only from Ocarina of time, Link and Toon Link using weapons from basically every game rather than specific ones aside from the Gale Boomerang and in Crusade, the Hidden Skills, which are both from Twilight Princess), the 2D games are largely ignored. Rather than being yet another clone of Link or solely representing yet another 3D game, Young Link gives us the perfect opportunity to fix this issue (alongside Ganon, if he gets in). And just to prove how much I want this, I will create a full moveset for him much like I did with Heihachi and Monokuma. Gonna treat this like a character suggestion in the Unofficial characters thread: To kill two birds with one stone, Young Link would wield the Razor Sword from Majora's Mask and the Magic Shield from Zelda 1 (the one with the cross). Like the other Links, Young Link excels at using projectiles...however, he takes it to a more extreme extent, as he has many, many different projectiles and options to choose from compared to Link/Toon Link, can equip different masks to change certain attacks, and can use his grab of all things for better stage control and edgeguarding. His close combat, however, is rather poor to make up for this (though the Goron Mask somewhat helps), and his light weight coupled with an average fall speed makes him pretty easy to KO when approached. Overall, Young Link is a highly complicated version of Link with a higher learning curve, and a well-balanced homage to the 2D Zelda games, Majora's Mask, and his Melee iteration all in one. - Moveset:
Attributes Weight: Light Fall speed: Average Walk speed: Above Average Dash speed: Fast Midair jumps: One Crawl?: No Wall cling?: No Wall jump?: Yes -When Young Link is standing in place, his shield will block projectiles. -Young Link uses his Magic Cape from ALttP to air dodge, roll, and side dodge, making him turn invisible. However, his dodges are slow to make up for this trickery.
Normals Jab: Quickly stabs his sword in front of him once a'la Zelda 1. Rather weak, but at 0%/very low damage, this move will fire a sword beam when used. Goron Link uses his punch-punch-hip attack combo from Majora's Mask, which is slow but powerful. Zora link uses his slice-slice-kick combo, which is rather weak but very fast. F-tilt: Slashes his sword in front of him horizontally (similar to Ike's f-tilt), similar to his sword slashes in the 2D games. Poorer range than Link's usual f-tilt, but better damage. U-tilt: Stabs his sword above him skyward weakly. Rather weak and has poor range, but at 0%/very low damage, this move will fire a sword beam upward when used. D-tilt: Basically Toon's d-tilt from Project M, but he uses the shovel from ALttP/Oracle of/Link's Awakening instead of his sword to attack. If the opponent is hit with the end of the "weapon," they will be spiked. Dash Attack: Preforms a roll and, if the button is pressed again, he attacks at the end of it. Good mobility option if he doesn't attack with it. Deku Link will spin forward with a multi-hitting, more damaging, but less safe dash attack, like Megaman's in Sm4sh.
Aerials N-air: Preforms a midair spin attack, visually similar to Link's 64 up-special. Has a lingering hitbox and hits multiple times. Goron Link curls up into a ball and spins, similar to Sonic's n-air, which does more damage than the default n-air if timed correctly but has weaker sourspots. F-air: Same as his f-air from Melee. Decent kill move, especially near the edge. B-air: Stabs his sword straight behind him. At 0%/very low damage, this move will fire a sword beam when used. Zora Link slashes one of his fins behind him, slower but more powerful than the default version. U-air: Default is the same as his u-air from Melee. Deku Link fires a deku seed directly upward, which automatically explodes at the peak of its height for a powerful sweetspot. D-air: Same as his d-air from Melee, and yes, that includes the badass fire meteor.
Smashes F-Smash: Takes out his magic hammer from ALttP and slams it in front of him. Range is rather poor, but the attack is very powerful. Goron Link wields the Megaton Hammer instead, which is much slower but even stronger than the default version. U-Smash: Takes out the whistle from Zelda 1 and blows into it, causing two tornados to appear on each side of Link that toss the opponent upward. Deku Link fires a Deku Seed directly upward, which will stun grounded opponents for a follow up attack and force airbone foes tumbling. D-Smash: Takes out the Mole Mitts from The Minish Cap and slashes at both sides of him simultaneously. Zora Link does the same thing, but with his fins instead, with weaker, but more horizontal knockback, making it better for kills off the bottom.
Throws Grab: Young Link's grab is unique: to grab, he takes out his switch hook, an item from Oracle of Ages, and after a bit of startup lag, it extends like the hookshot. It fires straight ahead and comes back; if it touches an opponent while Y. Link is in mid-air, he will switch places with them, forcing opponents to be wary when edgeguarding him. When the opponent is grabbed, they're kept at the same distance from Y. Link. Although he can grab opponents even in midair, his throws are very poor as combo starters and are best used for mindgames, dealing damage, and edgeguarding. Pummel: The hook grabbing on to the foe pinches the opponent. F-throw: Forces both him and his opponent forward. Very weak damage, but can easily send his foe offstage if done close to the edge. B-throw: Swaps places with his opponent via a spin, the momentum sending his opponent flying. Very weak damage, but good knockback, and a somewhat decent horizontal kill throw. U-throw: Flails the switch hook upward and tosses the opponent above him. His best kill throw. D-throw: Y. Link and his victim rise up, switch via teleportation, and the victim is slammed into the ground after the swap. Good damage, but no knockback whatsoever aside from the position swap.
Specials D-Spec - Equip Mask: Y. Link equips either the Deku mask, the Goron mask, or the Zora mask, changing what some of his normals do and all of his specials, as seen below (Young Link will still look human when he has a mask equipped; he will only change when actually using the aforementioned moves). There are four different equips and they are activated in order: ---Deku Mask ---Goron Mask ---Zora Mask ---No Mask By default, Y. Link will have no mask equipped.
N-Spec - Seed Shooter: Without a mask equipped, Y. Link takes out his Seed Shooter from Oracle of Ages and fires one kind of mystical seed from it. The attack has bad endlag, but can be aimed forward, diagonally, upward, and even backward once activated, and can be aimed downward in the air. If the seeds hit any walls or the ground, they will reflect off of them few times before disappearing. The kinds of mystical seeds are as follows: --Ember: Highest damage, lowest travel speed. Fire damage. --Scent: Highest hitstun, lowest damage. Physical damage. --Pegasus: Highest travel speed, lowest knockback. Magic damage. --Gale: Sends the opponent flying upward. Wind damage. --Mystery: Randomly takes on the properties of one of the other seeds. Similar to how Peach's forward smash works, The seeds appear in the order above without fail. Mask Versions With a mask equipped, his N-Spec will be one of these instead: ---Deku Bubble: Deku Link charges up and fires a magic exploding that slows down toward the end of its run. Explodes for high knockback if it collides with something, higher knockback if the attack is charged. ---Goron Spikes: Goron Link curls up in place and powerfully damaging spikes shoot out of him. Has a bit of startup, but the armor this move has can cancel out weak projectiles. ---Zora Barrier: Zora Link shields himself with a magic blue barrier that reflects projectiles and does weak damage with good hitstun, similar to Fox's reflector.
S-Spec - Magic Wand: Without a mask equipped, Y. Link takes out one of his magic rods/wands from the various Zelda games and uses it to attack. Like his N-Spec, each rod has a different function and always appears in the same order, unless he has a mask equipped, in which case the special is completely different as seen below. Regular versions ---Magic Wand: Default version is the standard magic wand from Zelda 1. Sends a wave of magic flying quickly across the screen. ---Fire Rod: Functions similarly to the fire rod from A Link Between Worlds - sends a pillar of fire sliding along the ground a certain distance. ---Ice Rod: Drops an ice block from directly overhead. Can freeze opponents at high enough damages. ---Sand Rod: Creates a pillar of sand a distance away that launches the opponent upward. ---Cane of Somaria: Creates a solid red block that sits in place until Y. Link decides to detonate it with another side special use, by changing masks, or until a certain amount of time passes. When manually detonated, magic fireballs will fly out of its remains to the right, left, and upward, and downward if the block is airborne. If destroyed by an opponent or manually detonated, the block will vanish harmlessly. Mask versions ---Deku Spin: Similar to his dash attack, Deku Link spins around in place and knocks opponents away weakly. Unlike his dash attack, he cannot move while preforming this attack, but it has less lag and doesn't last as long. ---Goron Roll: Goron Link charges up and rolls forward, powerfully knocking away anyone he hits. Does more damage and travels faster if the attack is charged. Goron Link cannot turn around when using this, but can cancel it at any time with a small delay. ---Zora Boomerang: Zora Link fires his two arm boomerangs forward before they return, very similar to Link's old boomerang special.
U-Spec - Roc's Cape/Deku Flower/Goron Slam/Zora Dash: Y. Link does a small midair jump, then breaks into a glide using his Roc's Cape from Oracle of Seasons/The Minish Cap. Very good horizontal recovery, but rather poor vertical distance. He is helpless once the glide ends, but if he presses the attack button while gliding, he will preform a stall-then-fall down thrust similar to Toon Link's d-air, which lasts until he lands or dies. Deku Link will launch himself upward out of a flower and fall slowly to the ground with helicopter flowers. Moves slowly horizontally when hovering downward and is thus rather unsafe, but otherwise his most useful recovery distance-wise. Goron Link leaps upward very high before slamming down into the ground powerfully, burying anyone directly underneath him and damaging anyone near the point of impact, similar to Bowser bomb, but goes upward in mid-air. Zora Link preforms a spinning dash in a chosen direction as if he were swimming underwater. Hits multiple times and deals good damage, but doesn't travel quite as far as his other recoveries.
Final Smash - Fierce Diety Link: I think the post above me had the perfect idea for this, so I'll just quote it with fixed grammar: "Puts his Fierce Deity mask and transforms while screaming. During this form he can do a basic combo sequence. With A he does a basic combo ( https://youtu.be/QUR1eYIoRTc?t=5m8s ); with B he slashes and beams are shot (this https://youtu.be/jeY5yOT5jsc?t=1m3s ); and with A+B he does an ultimate attack ( https://youtu.be/dnBhmWsnQa4?t=11m3s ). After using the ultimate attack, the transformation runs out immediately."
Taunts 1: Young Link drinks some Lon Lon Milk. This taunt lasts a while, but heals 3% damage. 2: Turns into a pink rabbit briefly, then picks up the nearby Moon Pearl and turns back to normal. 3: Puts on a random mask from Majora's Mask (such as Keaton's Mask, or the Mask or Truth, Majora's Mask, etc).
There, that way Young Link reps Majora's Mask really well while also representing the classics. Moveset's a bit complex, but it's just a suggestion anyway. Plus I really enjoy making these. |

| Well then. That has changed my mood on (re)introducing Young Link. As Toon Link is not being used as Link's Alt, I wouldn't mind Young Link as an Alt with that moveset, even if the Mask part was not included (mainly due to spriting all of them). Surprised that you managed to turn Young Link from a full-on clone to a non-clone (Maybe a Derivative at most) |

| I mostly just included the mask parts to please everybody, really. If it were up to me I'd skip out on repping Majora's Mask altogether honestly in favor of every single 2D game that's been ignored, but that's just me apparently...Guess I'm the only one who sees "Young Link" as less of a Majora's Mask character and more of a Link to the Past character I suppose. |

Aren't Young Link's only true appearances in OoT and Majora's Mask? Isn't the Link from LttP just flat-out Link? |

| Well,I think, like with Shantae, his Neutral Special could be based on transformation. In his case, he could use Deku, Zora, or Goron Masks, depending the direction you press when you use this Special. |

As a Dev, i can confirm that we are not going to tackle new characters the same way Shantae was handled. It proved too time consuming to make idle, walk, jump, etc. for every transformation, even with the limited move pool. - MarioStrikerMurphy1994 wrote:

That's more reasonable/feasible. Something like Deku doing up B with the flowers, Zora doing the scale-boomerang toss with neutral Special and Goron doing Roll-out for his Side B |
