DEBUT: Megami Tensei II
LATEST APPEARANCE: Devil Survivor 2: Reclocked
SERIES ICONJack Frost is the mascot of Atlus and a lovable little snow elf demon, known by many gamers. He has appeared in a ton of games, including his own spin-off way back (Jack Bros) with his 2 brothers, Pyro Jack and Jack the Ripper (who are much lesser known.) Atlus, the company that owns him, has a strong following in Japan and the West, and are known for their quality and much more. By the way, if you don't get that tagline: Jack constantly says "Hee-Ho", even when he's trying to act tough.
Jack Frost himself would be a great choice for Crusade, for he'd represent Atlus, one of the most popular companies not represented in Crusade yet.
Before I get into Jack's moveset, I'm sure you may be thinking various things. I'm going to try my best to refute your suspicions, so, here goes!
Why Do We Need An Atlus Rep?First off, Atlus is a highly praised company with highly-received and well loved series and games, such as the smash hit series Persona, and a company that gamers all around know. Also, Atlus has a huge fanbase in Japan and in the West.
Why Jack Frost?Jack Frost is considered by Atlus themselves to be their mascot, and a character that has appeared in quite a bit of games. He's one of the most recurring Megami Tensei characters, and he also has a lot of moves at his disposal to make for a great moveset.
Why Jack Frost Over A Persona Rep, Or Another Demon? If a person knows one thing about Atlus, it's most likely Persona and Jack Frost. No other demon really reaches his level of fame. It'd be very weird to see another one of his kind over him, despite Jack being the mascot.
Jack would be in over Yu (Persona 4's protagonist) and Minato (Persona 3's protagonist) due to the fact that those two characters only represent games in the Persona series, that has five mainline games (Persona 2 has two routes, both entire games) and another one currently in production. Also, a new era of Persona is coming; Persona 4 Dancing All Night may be the last we see of Persona 4 for quite a while. Also, Jack Frost is in Persona.
Megami Tensei (and it's various branches such as Shin Megami Tensei) has over 30 games and tons of them with great reception. Jack Frost? Appeared in nearly all of those 30 games. While never the main protagonist, he always shows up one way or another.
Also, some people seem confused as to why a Persona 1 and 2 rep wouldn't happen: Persona 1 and Persona 2 were, while well received, not big hits like Persona 3 and Persona 4, most likely because of the gameplay and other factors. You most likely wouldn't find someone who knows the protagonist of Persona 2's name if you quizzed 50 Persona fans. But, this is not relevant to Jack.
Isn't Megami Tensei really mature?[Yes! Though Jack is somewhat of a comic relief character, not mature at all. Also, Metal Gear Solid, despite also being quite a wacky and funny series, is very dark and grim, featuring very adult themes. And we still have Snake, so...
What Makes Jack Frost Unique?Basically, Jack plays as a nimble character that racks up the damage. His attacks are mostly light as well as lightning fast, and is great at getting good combos. However, his true power lies in his various ranged attacks, most of which can be charged and give him many different ways to play. Also, he utilizes various icy things, such as snowballs and snowflakes. Part of the reason of which being because, well, he's a snow elf and completely ice-themed, and also because of how comical he is, with fitting "comical" moves for his normal attacks.
Jack's Nintendo Relationshiphttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Megami_Tensei_media Take a look at this. There are over, as I said, 30 games in the Megami Tensei franchise. Excluding the Persona franchise, almost every single game has been on a Nintendo console. The latest release has been on a Nintendo console. And Atlus, now being owned by Nintendo's best buddy Sega, has stronger relations with Nintendo then ever.
Now then, I'm sure you want to see it; so, time to move onto the moveset!
Jack's IntroIcy wind billows as
Jack Frost and
Pyro Jack appear. Pyro gives his brother a highfive then vanishes, and then Frost tilts his head and waves, basically the picture you see of him in this thread.
Jack's Normal AttacksNeutral AttackPunches forward an icy fist.
(Origin: Original Move)Jab Punches forward his icy fist two times, slowly, then headbutts his opponent.
Light damage, light knockback
(Origin: Original Move)Side TiltJack gets out a snowball and thwacks his opponent with it on their side.
Light damage, medium knockback
(Origin: Original Move)
Up Tilt Throws three, overlapping, snowflakes upward. They go a bit high, but not too high; think a bit higher then Peach's rainbow up-tilt in Smash 4.
Light damage, light knockback
(Origin: Original Move)Down Tilt Rolls out some tiny snowballs, that roll forward and stun any opponent hit for a very short span of time. They all do a tiny amount of damage, but the last one is the biggest and does a decent amount bigger damage then the other snowballs.
Light damage, light knockback, and the last one deals medium damage, medium knockback
(Origin: Original Move)Ledge Attack Jack comically flails around and throws out two punches.
Light damage, basically no knockback
(Origin: Original Move)Getting Up Attack Spins around quickly, his hands gliding on the floor, reaching for opponents.
Light damage, basically no knockback
(Origin: Original Move)Dash Attack Charges forward and thrashes his head erratically.
Light damage, light knockback
(Origin: Original Move)Jack's Smash AttacksSide Smash Throws out a Sonic Punch, which is a quick swipe punch that comes from the side of Jack. Comes out very quick, so it doesn't do a ton of damage, but fully charged it does good damage and comes just as quick.
Medium damage, light knockback uncharged, high damage, medium knockback charged
(Origin: Sonic Punch is one of Jack's moves in various games, such as the Persona games.)Up Smash Winds up another Sonic Punch and slings his fist upward, his hand expanding as it goes up. Comes out quick, but not as fast as his side smash.
Medium damage, medium knockback uncharged, high damage, medium knockback charged
(Origin: Sonic Punch, same origin as above)Down Smash Slowly lugs out a huge snowball that gets bigger as it is charged up and at the end of the attack, drops it, and the impact makes it explode. Does a LOT of damage if fully charged and hits an opponent. Otherwise, it is his most powerful smash attack, but doesn't do the big damage his fully charged Up Smash does.
Medium damage, high knockback if uncharged, high damage, high knockback if charged.
(Origin: Original Move)Jack's AerialsNeutral Aerial Flails around and manages to kick outward.
(Origin: Original Move)Forward Aerial Slaps forward.
(Origin: Original Move)Back Aerial Leans forward (think of his position in this like Luigi's in effect Side-B) and spins around in a circle, doing a cartwheel.
(Origin: Original Move)Up Aerial Punches and swings his fist around upward.
(Origin: Original Move)Down Aerial Swings his head downward. His head grows a bit big as it swings down.
(Origin: Original Move)Jack's SpecialsNeutral Special:
Ice/Blizzard Breath.
Depending on how long you hold the button, Jack's breath will be bigger and better. It has a short hitbox and a bit of hitlag, but freezes the opponent for a brief second if fully charged, allowing a great follow up. This move is multiple hits and juggles. Ice Breath deals light damage with light knockback, and Blizzard Breath deals medium damage with medium knockback.
(Origin: Ice/Blizzard Breath is a move commonly used by Jack in multiple Megami Tensei games.)Side Special:
Bufu/Bufula.
If you lightly tap the side special button, Jack sends forward ice flakes and chunks of ice quickly. If you hold it, Jack forms some ice in his hand and sends forward a stronger attack that has a bigger sprite, but the same animation. The attack goes forward for about 2 seconds, quickly. Juggles.
Bufu does light damage and light knockback, and Bufula does high damage and medium knockback.
(Origin: This is one of Jack's most widely used moves, and is used in nearly every appearance.)Down Special:
Ice Boost.
Jack holds his hands to his head and thinks hard, and his next five attacks will become stronger depending on how long he focuses. If you charge up for 3 seconds, his attacks will be maybe 3% tougher. If you charge for, say, 10 seconds, his attacks will be 10% stronger. If interrupted by an attack or such, he'll instantly stop focusing with no powered-up moves.
(Origin: Ice Boost is a common Jack attack that boosts some of his stats.)Up Special:
Hee-Ho, Pyro!:
Pyro Jack appears and grabs his brother, and Frost hangs onto Pyro's coat. Floats slowly upward, but goes very high. However, if hit, goes into helpless mode and plummets down. Pyro Jack hits any opponent that doesn't attack him that he bumps into with his lantern, giving them a good whack.
Pyro's whack gives them medium damage, medium knockback.
(Origin: Pyro Jack is Jack Frost's spooky ghost brother who's constantly as his side, appearing in many games as well.)Jack's GrabsGrab Animation Jack scowls and clutches the opponents sides.
(Origin: Original Move)Pummel Jack punches his opponent in the chest multiple times, babyishly, in a way.
Light damage
(Origin: Original Move)Forward Throw Winds up a Sonic Punch and punches the enemy forward.
Light damage, medium knockback
(Origin: Sonic Punch, commonly used Jack Frost move.)Back ThrowSuplexes the enemy, throwing them backwards. This may seem odd but it's actually a reference to the boxart of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, where Labrys suplexes Yu.
Light damage, medium knockback
(Origin: Boxart of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax)Up Throw Jack lifts his opponent up and blows ice on them, stunning them, then heaves them upward.
Light damage, medium knockback
(Origin: Original Move)Down ThrowJack drops the opponent to the ground then hits them two times with a Sonic Punch, and then throws them with a hard hit from a snowball.
Medium damage, medium knockback
(Origin: Original Move)Jack's Taunts And IdlesTaunt 1 His brother Pyro Jack shows up next to him and they dance around laughing. Pyro Jack then dissapears.
(Origin: Original)Taunt 2 Plops down and makes a snowball, and eats it. Demons don't even need to eat, so who knows why?
(Origin: Original)Taunt 3 Turns into Frost Ace (you'll see his picture soon) and points upward, smiling.
(Origin: Artwork for Frost Ace)Idle 1 Puts his left hand to his hip and flashes a piece sign, grinning.
(Origin: Somewhat based on art for Frost that shows him wagging his finger.)Idle 2 Makes an iceflake and shows it off infront of him, looking around.
(Origin: Original)Jack's Victory Poses/Loss Pose[Victory Pose 1 Jack tilts from side to side and wags his finger, then flashes a thumbs up.
(Origin: The mentioned finger-wagging artwork)Victory Pose 2 Jack quickly becomes Frost Ace and points his finger upward in the classic "salute" of Ace.
(Origin: Frost Ace's official art)Victory Pose 3 Jack plays around with an evoker (a weird looking gun) from Persona 3, then gets bored and plays around with a snowflake.
(Origin: Persona 3. An evoker is a gun used to summon your Persona, that when pointed at your head and trigger pulled, did nothing but summon said Persona.)LossScowls and angrily stomps up and down.

Frost Ace! Jack became Frost Ace in various games after getting the Ice Vest, and in Shin Megami Tensei: IMAGINE, a online MMO, he suddenly transformed into it in an event.
