Honestly I think it's looking better for Snake than it was yesterday.

The reason is that they tend to leave the best for Friday and this was very much filler. If they weren't going to unveil anything in this Direct then I would have thought Mario and Samus' costumes would have been Friday.

But then again it may not even by Snake if there is a character, I know there's a lot of love for Bomberman, and there's also the possibility of a second Sonic rep.

I think Snake has a greater chance than any 3rd party character at this point due to seniority alone.

No doubt.

At this point I'd say there's a 40% chance of a new third-party character. 20% that it's Snake, 10% that it's Tails, 5% it's Bomberman and 5% it's somebody else.

I can't wait! If I had to guess I'd say this had Ridley written all over it.

He says that they're near the new challenger videos, so I can only assume that every newcomer will be announced before release date. It could be anyone though, or anyone possible. I feel like if Ridley's gonna be playable, they should save him for last, just because... It's Sakurai.

I hope it's Bandana Waddle Dee, because why not.

Apparently one of the writers for Xenoblade chronicles retweeted the announcement for the Monday trailer, so people are starting to guess Shulk may be revealed.

Checking his Twitter account and he also retweets quite a lot. It's mainly mecha stuff but I wouldn't expect Shulk from this evidence.

Don't get me wrong I expect Shulk in the game due to the Gematsu Leak, I just wouldn't count this as evidence.

The video's 3 minutes long, longer than any other newcomer video. I'm confused of why Shulk would have a 3 minute video for himself, the first Smash trailer was shorter than 3 minutes, so, idk, I don't feel like it's Shulk, but it probably is...

I think it will be a big reveal of a newcomer. Sakurai never indicated that there will be multiple characters or even a veteran. Being a 3 minute trailer, I'm expecting that the opening will be extended before we see the newcomer.
