- Spoiler:
You’ll notice I didn’t draw a custom CSP this time, that’s because I still haven’t gotten used to the new style of Crusade, and by extension there is no stock icon this time either.
- Spoiler:
This is the result of me being a sad man and editing a request for a character in a smash fan game for days on end in my free time in Google Docs instead of trying to get a job or anything like that.
Broforce is a side scrolling shooter in the vain of Contra, only instead of power ups and directional shooting, you have different Bros! Each Bro has his/her own abilities and quirks, which is discovered through playing the game. The main Bro is Rambro, who is a reference to Rambo. The beginning of the story is simple and a reference to Rambo First Blood Part 2, where Rambro and the Bros have to rescue American POW still in Vietnam. After that you have to take down a hive of aliens that look like Xenomorphs and then Satan and the forces of Hell, ending with a celebration with the president. Every Bro is a reference to something from pop culture, however we’re only here for Rambro, and even though the characters reference pop culture, the characters themselves are their own thing. There’s not much more I can say about the game.
I believe Rambro should be in Crusade as an Indie game rep (sort of, as Broforce was published by the same company that published Hotline Miami and Serious Sam) because of all the moves and abilities from the Bros in Broforce, and the fact that this would just be one of the most surprising characters to reveal.
Also, for reference, you can only shoot forward in this game, however melee attackers can hit in any direction. Keep this in mind and cut me some slack where I take liberties. Also, there’s only one throw in the game, keep this in mind as well.
Rambro’s abilities in game are only: Machine gun, 6 grenades, and a knife. His move set will have moves from other Bros for Crusade.
Also the in game sprites look like this:
- Spoiler:
So there are two ways to go about a character like this, he looks like the in game sprite or a new sprite is created. I am not skilled enough to make a custom crusade sprite, so sorry, we’re gonna have to go with the former when it comes to visualizing a move set.
Also, no, Rambro does not turn into the any of the Bros for the moves
Misc:
Predicted tier placement: C-B

Classic Mode music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h--c_Jr-fXk
Victory fanfare: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TW01ZPArMz0
Speed: 3 blocks per second (assuming each “block” is a square that measures 50x50 pixels)
Jump height: 4 blocks
Double jump: he flips in the air, reminiscent of how in the game, you flip when jumping onto a wall from underneath.
Grab: Tether grab, using Indiana Brone’s whip. Can attach to walls and not just ledges
Wall cling: yes
Wall Jump: yes but difficult.
Can jump up walls for a limited period of time.
Jump: Jumps normally like in the games, with his weapon in hand.
Glide: Equips Broketeer’s jet pack to stay airborne
Victory Pose: 1 of 2 things: 1. Rambro messes around with an RC car with a bomb strapped to it, which explodes off screen leaving a shocked expression on his face.
2. Rambro hops on a helicopter while the ground below him explodes around an American flag, referencing the level complete from the game
- Spoiler:
Taunt: The flexing taunt from Broforce
Dash and walk use the similar animations, however he is slightly hunched forward with air lines for run.
Free Fall: Snake Broskin’s Fall
Attacks:
Forward throw:
Back throw: The Brode’s special, punches an opponent backwards, causing them to explode.
(because of my timing, some explosions will just appear as black or white balls in screenshots)
Up throw: Throws an opponent up, followed by throwing Broheart's sword
Down throw: Throws opponent to the ground and burns them with B. A. Broraccus’s flame thrower
Pummel: beats on the opponent with his fists. No in game equivalent.
Jab: Bro Lee’s Nunchucks
F Tilt: Rambro’s knife attack
D Tilt: Crouches down and knifes in front of him
U Tilt: Throws MacBrover’s dynamite upwards, it can stick to enemies, and explodes after a short period of time
Dash attack: Brade’s special, uses sword to do a dash for a short distance that hurts anything in his way
F Smash: Bronan the Brobarian’s Lunging Slam, which makes him jump a short distance before landing to create a shockwave
- Spoiler:
D Smash: Mr. Anderbro’s melee bound attack, which in Broforce is just slamming towards the direction held, however, he rises up and then slams into the ground for Crusade
U Smash: The Brode’s uppercut slash (this was a bitch to get screenshots for, by the way)
N aerial: Brodell Walker’s Roundhouse kick melee
F aerial: Time Bro’s rapid fire rifle
B Aerial: Bro Max’s shotgun
U Aerial: Throws Brodator’s spear upwards
D Aerial: Brocketeer’s special, uses jet pack to slam downwards
N Special: Standard shots with his gun, can rapid fire
D special (on ground): Grenade, throws them in an arc
D special (in air): Shoots his gun downwards in reference to Cherry Broling, allows him to hover for a short period of time
Rambro could be in this pose, only facing downwards.
S Special (in air): Brominator’s Gatling Gun, shoots a Gatling gun that has insane user knockback, can be used for recovery if faced opposite to stage
S Special (on ground): Brommando’s rocket launcher, has slight user knockback
U Special(in air): Double Bro Seven’s Jetpack special
U Special (on ground): The Brofessional’s special attack, which puts lock on crosshairs on enemies that fall within an area, only to be shot for 15% from someone offscreen.
Final Smash: Tank Bro
He throws a smoke grenade that calls Tank Bro (a parody of Tank Girl) and her Tank. Tank Bro and Rambro get into the tank, and you control the tank driving around and shooting enemies, finished off with Tank Bro hopping out and shooting her launcher at the center of the stage with a large explosion radius
- Spoiler:
Tank Bro firing her missiles in an arch
Front cannon
Tank Bro’s Bazooka
All in all, I think Rambro would be an interesting addition to Crusade as the game he comes from has a lot of personality to it. Plus, there’s many more options to make a full moveset for him, as there are many Bros in the game to take from. Hell, I picked him because he is by far the easiest indie rep to make a move set for.
