wouldn't it be fun to put the crusade roster into similar game setups as some of the characters came from (Super Mario, Pokemon, The Legend of Zelda, ect.). This mode does just that.
ORIGIN MODE
How it works is that certain aspects of other games are put into Smash to make a (somewhat) accurate 2d replication of the games some of the crusade cast comes from (hence the name). And if this description is too vague, here are a couple of games that would be featured.
POKEMON:Master Hand sent out MARIO
Time to see whos the best trainer in the land. In Origins: Pokemon players can choose from Master Hand or Crazy Hand and assemble a team of up to 6 crusade characters to battle it out against another team of 6 (supports online play). Each fighter can only use their specials and cannot move away from their opponent (excluding random dodges). Support items such as food and Maximum Tomatos are active and Final Smashes are usable (act as either a Z-Move or Mega Evolution)
