| Game: Pikmin 3 Large Differences from Olimar: Rock and Winged Pikmin Exclusive to Alph In the Super Smash Bros for 3DS, Pikmin sure doesn't get the love it deserves. 3 clones were added in last minute, and Alph isn't one of them. " Dark Pit > Alph " - Sakurai 2014. In my opinion, Pikmin is a game that deserves love and representation in any game, and with Pikmin 3, 2 new colors of Pikmin were added that are quite unique, and would help Alph out a lot. If Alph were in, we could have Olimar be the SSBB Olimar, while Alph is SSB4 Olimar, with Winged and Rock Pikmin replacing Purple and White. Winged Pikmin could lift an enemy into the air if it latches on, for a second or so at least. Then Rock Pikmin could be heavy damage, low knockback, bounce off opponents. Alph's Up Special would be the same as Olimar's SSB4 one, where 2 Winged Pikmin appear and fly him to safety. Alph would be an Olimar alt, similar to Pichu, and Evil Ryu. If we included him into Crusade we could have SSB4's Olimar, and SSBB's Olimar, and you could choose which you prefer.

| That would be interesting, never played the Pikmin series but Olimar is my favorite character from Brawl. For that I will support Alph as another Pikmin rep. |

| Alucard there IS an edit button you know, double posting isn't necessary. But yes, I would suggest him being an Alt for Olimar, since they are indeed very similar.
To be honest, mean't to add that in the post originally, which I will do now. Thanks for the reminder. |

| Never played Pikmin, and I wouldn't mind, because he's Nintendo, but since we're talking 8-bit or 16-bit graphics he'll look like a simple reskin of the original guy. How different would the movesets be? I would feel you'd have a hard time telling the difference, but that's just me who never played a Pikmin game.
Is he different as Ness and Lucas are different? |

Is he different as Ness and Lucas are different? The difference will be slight, except for the fact I would prefer him being Smash 4's Olimar. His looks won't be too much different that's for sure. He'd be Smash 4 Olimar with Rock Pikmin, and Winged Pikmin replacing the Purple and Whites. In Pikmin 3 the punching ability is much weaker, so making him weaker without Pikmin would be a nice addition. Red Pikmin in Pikmin 3 are also insane beasts of damage, so buffing them for him would also be a nice addition. The Rock Pikmin would be low in knockback, heavy damage, and bounce off the opponents instead of lock on. Similar to Peach's turnips but, more damage, less knockback, and they're also alive. The Winged Pikmin could pick up an enemy if they are thrown at them, forcing the enemy to break free, similar to grab. It could last up to 2-3 seconds of you don't shake free I think, leaving the enemy very vulnerable. The Pikmin would also be plucked in order like Smash 4's, and some of Alph's moves would be slightly different. I'd go into more detail, but in the end Alph would be a Semi-Clone either way. Pikmin isn't a game that changes very much, the gameplay is always the same with slightly different things going on. The Pikmin games are great and I recommend them, but I also recommend more representation of them in Crusade because it's a series I love very dearly, and I feel is under-appreciated. I'm also bias. So hah. |

| Since recently there has been discussion about Olimar's Crusade moveset compared to his SSB4 moveset, I figured I would bump this topic.
If Alph were to ever be included, should any moves that Crusade Olimar or SSB4 Olimar be transferred over to Alph? Should he be the one to use Rock and Flying Pikmin differently than him? Should he have his own special moveset?

Should he have his own special moveset? Uh I've done some write ups in the past over on the other thread, the more popular one from the past. https://projectcrusade.forumotion.com/t2470-pikmin-3-s-alphI'd consider redoing the moveset since Olimar has been changed a lot in SSB4, and I feel like combining that Olimar with the Alph ideas originally made (With the help of Axel) would be a good idea. I'd say he'd for the most part be a semi-clone though. Smash 4 Alph with Purple and Whites replaced with Winged and Rock. Up Special changed to Smash 4's Up Special. Rock Pikmin bounce off enemies and keep a hitbox up until they've hit the ground, they're slightly lighter than Purples but do less damage. Winged Pikmin can "Stun" an opponent by slightly lifting them into the air when grabbed. They're easier to kill than White Pikmin though and don't do much damage. Alph only gets 3 Pikmin, and they aren't random like Smash 4 Olimar. His Pikmin could be slightly buffed because of the lack of Pikmin, but that's the developers choice. That's just a quick thought though, if I had more time to think about the subject I'm sure I could think up some more things. Olimar is a lot different in Smash 4 as it is, so combining some Pikmin 3 elements in there wouldn't be the worst idea to make Alph much more unique than people expect. Kinda like Fox and Falco I guess. |

| Maybe to make Olimar and Alph different, we can leave Olimar with his Brawl moveset while giving Alph the Smash 4 moveset, though with a twist. We replace Alph's purple Pikmin with the Rock Pikmin. Obviously, it will be more than a cosmetic change, but also function differently. Not sure if this is canon, but maybe even give him the mushroom Pikmin and a Bulbmin.

These ideas and more were already brought up earlier in this thread by the poster, though I suppose it's reassuring knowing that you agree with them subconsciously. Support, by the way. |
