I love the Puyo Puyo games, and I think it's a good idea, maybe review the mouveset,
I think it would be nice to add Carbuncle for any attack (such as Peach special attack with Toad)
Example up attack Example side attack, Carbuncle turns and hit forward and come back, a bit like the boomerang attack of link
Also use the different game mode of Puyo Puyo:
For the final smash, entered the mode, maybe change the level background like in Puyo Puyo, a group of Puyo drop on the floor and a Puyo block fall and debuted the chain by launching Nuisance Puyo on enemies in all directions.
Use an attack with SUN, as in the game a ray of light appears and falls SUN (and causes burns)
Attacks with mini / Giant Puyo Puyo and Ice (Mode in Puyo Puyo 20th Anniversary for example)
There is also this attack in the story of Arle in Puyo Puyo SUN
And the combos (The first 10 seconds, Arle & Carbuncle have the same)
Alright, I don't even play this, and I still support. Plus, isn't this where the Lip's Stick comes from, or was that something else? ...I don't know. Anyway, I think this is a good route to go since there will likely never be a Tetrimino character. Did I say I support this yet? I can't remember.
But yeah, at one point I started to try to remake Arle's moveset mostly because of lack of Carbuncle and Magic attacks. I had an idea where Carbuncle shoots a beam of electricity as one of the specials. Basically it's an attack similar to the Falcon Punch or Warlock Punch because it takes a while to charge up. BUT, Arle is allowed to move freely while Carbuncle is charging up.
My moveset ain't finished btw. I'll finish it in some point in time however.

Much appreciated.
I wonder if this is enough support for her to rival other somewhat popular characters...

The hell did I miss this thread? Support. More puzzle game rep is always good.
That said, might I suggest a bit more influence from Madou Monogatari? Having her use puyo blobs for EVERYTHING would get a bit samey.

I must say, I'm really glad that this character's getting a ton of support, too. I suggested her waaaaay back when the old forums were still alive and I wanted her soooooooo bad...and that hasn't changed.
Thank you, OmegaSteve, for keeping the dream alive...! ;_;

I believe she's pretty high on Japanese wanted character lists too, as an aside.

Huh, I had no idea...though in hindsight, that makes a ton of sense.

Personally I'd prefer we get Lip first, so for now, no support from me yet.
But that doesn't mean I wouldn't want it or that it's a bad idea or anything, just not before Lip, that's my two cents.

I have been thinking about redoing the moveset, but I don't know much about Madou Monogatari. But if you have any ideas, I'd appreciate you throwing them at me.

I mean, the original for Super Famicom (the only one I've played) was literally made for elementary schoolers, and there's a translation patch. Not too hard to sit down and beat over a couple days.

I can't think of any game pre-GBA that has any Kanji though, so it's all pretty much easy to read for anyone who can read (and understand) Japanese.

I actually tend to have an easier time with kanji, since I barely know the readings for half my vocabulary.
