Around 0:19 from the retro theme would be a cute style to do Frogger's theme in Crusade. Also hot damn that Lava Crush track is fucking fire.

You know what would be cool? If Frogger had little hopping sound effect from the classic game as his jump sound.

I read through the moveset, some pretty nice stuff I gotta say. Only thing I'm not a fan of is the down aerial. It might just be me but every other neutral attack is Frogger using his own limbs and appendages to attack, then he just randomly pops out with a sword. Might just be because I grew up with the original Frogger for the PS1, but if Frogger is supposed to be designed around his original non-anthropomorphic self, he shouldn't use... a sword. That's just my two cents.

Also, Frogger > Greninja. Shame on you, Sakurai.

And yeah, hear ya on Lava Crush. Frogger 1 had amazing music no short of creativity. I also loved the Frogger 2 music but it was quite different in the music deapartment. Frogger 1 music was more funky whereas Frogger 2 music was more house-like.

Honestly, I originally didn't like the sound idea. However the sound wouldn't play in crusade as often as it plays in the arcade, which would definetely help not making the sound boring. Even so there are better choices IMO:

Hey SP. Glad to hear you're liking the moveset. To be honest, you do have a point there. My original goal was mostly to represent the older Frogger with bits and pieces of the newer Frogger. I'll definetely think about it.

Frogger gets all my support. Iconic, and even though a lot of people today don't even know his name, Pac-Man wasn't very "hip and with it" but he's massively loved in the Smash fandom, and everywhere else.

Would totally main him, amazing moveset, by the way!

I was gonna mention you already have tilts, but after checking again only the forward tilt is listed in the op.

• Seperated moveset into sections.
  
• Added a general playstyle segment.
  
• Added Dash Attack.
  
• Modified Up Tilt.
  
• Changed Up Smash.
  
• Modified Down Air.
  
• Added unique throwing mechanics.
  
• Added Pummel.

I like the moveset, I support!

Made a couple more changes

• Made the Little Frogs from Side Special generate more damage and knockback to an opponent that is hit against the stage, as per frogger's playstyle.
  
• Clarified that the Up Special has very little landing lag.
  
• Changed Up Smash from "Handstand" to "Pseudo-cartwheel Jump".
  

I have also started ripping sounds from Frogger 1 and 2.

@Slissith: I don't have anything to add but I REALLY like the Little Frog and Grab gimmick you came up with! I also think the traffic cars from the original game should play a role in his Final Smash.

You're not the only one to suggest that design! Another person who posted here way before you (Hype Conduit) also stated his preferrence in using that design over the Frogger 1/2 one.

Personally however, I'm more fond of the older designs for several reasons, but admittedly mostly because of nostalgia; Frogger 2 was one of the first games I ever remember playing and I also poured a lot of hours into Frogger 1 when I was older. The other reasons I prefer the older designs are:

• The anthro design is no longer in use. Though it may have been used in a lot of games from 2001 to 2005 the majority of Frogger games feature him as a mostly plain frog. 
  
• There is not one, but 3 anthro designs. Frogger: The Great Quest, Frogger Beyond and Frogger Ancient Shadow.
  
• Frogger 1 and Frogger 2 pay a significant homage to the arcade Frogger, both by character design and stages. I think this is very important.
  
• PERSONAL OPINION: Anthro designs are mostly cheesy and childish.
  

Having that said, it ultimately isn't up to me anyway.

i feel the modern design fits more in terms of fighting.

I'll have to agree with Slis. The older design just screams Frogger to me.

Why does a character need a "fighting" design? Pac-Man is just wearing boots and gloves in this game as always. Why should Frogger be different?
