So it's a very Smash related meme

Plus, he actually is unique in Smash 4, unlike his Melee appearance, which is just Marth after grabbing a Fire Flower.

I despise Roy with every cell of my body. He's just Fire Marth, he's super unpopular in the Fire Emblem games, he doesn't represent anything and he's so freaking irritating. I just want him to burn in his own flames.

I'm not sure I support Roy either, but I'd like to point out that this isn't necessarily true. Yeah, Roy not be all that popular in his own series, but he certainly isn't the only one who's popularity in Smash greatly exceeds his popularity otherwise (Captain Falcon is the epitome of this, and I'm sure a whole bevy of us westerners had never even heard of Shulk before he joined Smash). If we don't include Roy, I think it'd be moreso because there are many other potential and more unique FE reps we could go for instead of another Marth semi-clone. It's not such an easy choice though because, like it or not, Roy is a VERY popular Smash character.

Roy is my favorite of the FE bunch, so... yeah. Support.

With Roy, I would support if you both mixed the Project M/Smash 4 versions and declone him some more (though I wouldn't be too upset if he was still "Clone-Like") I have barely played Fire Emblem myself, but I understand that there are better choices, and Roy's inclusion would be more because of how popular he is in the Smash Community rather than his popularity in the Fire Emblem Community.

Something that I should point out is that both Marth and Roy opened the door for us in the Western part of the world to Fire Emblem with their inclusion in Melee. So even if he isn't a popular character in his series, it could of been possible that Fire Emblem would not even have left Japan without his inclusion in Melee.

Still, with all of this said, I would expect Roy to be included after at least 3 more noteworthy FE characters (Ike, Robin, and Lyn for example).
