- Picture of Sora:
About: Sora is a 15 year old boy (currently), chosen by the keyblade. The keyblade is a magical weapon that is a key shaped sword, it has the power to unlock anything. The keyblade is not chosen by a master, it chooses it's master. Sora is originally from a small island chain called Destiny Islands. It had two islands (seen in the games) the main island where everyone lived and stuff, and a minor island that 6 children of the town play at (Tidus, Selphie, Wakka (yes those were final fantasy characters), Sora, Riku, and Kairi). His island home is destroyed, however, by the Heartless beings of those who lost their heart to the darkness. Now Sora has to go look for his two friends, Kairi and Riku (because who cares about Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie) with his two new friends, Donald and Goofy, who are looking for their king, Mickey Mouse. (I'll put a link here for who ever wants to find out more. This is A Wikia for Kingdom Hearts)
Why Would He Be a Good Character?: I think Sora would be a good character because even though he is a swordsman type character, he uses magic and different techniques that most swordsmen in this game don't have. Another thing is that, well, Sora is the product of when two big companies collab, Square Enix (Creators of Final Fantasy and The World Ends With You) and
Disney, yes
Disney. It is beautiful and the story is well written and all that stuff. I'm here to talk about his uniqueness though not his story. Well as I said he's different then other swordsmen. He is light on his feet, swift in his strikes, has strong moves, and a style of using combos usually done for brawlers, not swordsmen.
Gimmick:
Alternate Attacks: When certain criteria are given for attacks an alternate attack will be used instead. Such as if a down smash is used directly before being hit than instead of the normal Ice attack, reflect is used instead. Another example being that fire changes from a projectile to a revolving ring of fire depending on who's near.
Jump: Jump Once, Front Flips for Second, Glides.
Combo: A thrust with the Keyblade, a downwards strike, and ending with a small spin attack (spin attack gets a delayed hit box behind him).
Dash Attack: (Sliding Dash) Rush at and strike a distant enemy (gets delayed hit box in front of him).
- Sample:
Up Tilt: (Upper Slash) Knocks a target into the air (Can be used in the middle of the jab combo).
- Sample:
Side Tilt: (Vicinity Break) Sora will do a spin slash that hits enemies who surround him.
- Sample:
Down Tilt: (Finishing Leap) Unleashes a powerful guard-piercing attack. (Damages shields more than other attacks)
- Sample:
Grab Animation: Regular Grab
Up Throw: Chucks opponent into the air, then shoots thunder out of his Keyblade using the Thunder Bolt command style.
- Thunder:
Down Throw: Throws opponent on ground then casts Gravity, which flattens the opponent for a second then launches the foe (Deals damage relative to the opponents health (a quarter of current damage)).
- Gravity:
Side Throw: (Slapshot) Rapidly strike enemies ahead of you. Occasionally deals critical damage.
- Slapshot:
or
Back Throw: (Wisdom Form) A throw backwards, then Sora quickly turns around and shoots five homing shots of magic backwards.
Neutral Aerial: (Aerial Finish) Unleashes a powerful finishing combo move to a single target in midair (A three hit combo with wide slashes, once diagonally, second to the side, a one directly downwards, final can damage foes all around).
- Sample:
Up Aerial: (Fire Surge) Rush forwards with a revolving ring of fire around the user.
- Sample:
Side Aerial: (Aerial Spiral) Closes in on far targets in midair and unleashes spinning attacks.
Down Aerial: (Aerial Dive) Unleashes a powerful aerial attack on distant targets.
- Sample:
Back Air: (Horizontal Slash) During the period of executing an air combo Sora will do a left-to-right slash.
- Sample:
Side Smash: (Fire to Firaga) Releases a fireball that depending on the time held down will be big or small (Will chase opponents).
- Sample:
(Fire to Firaga) When surrounded with opponents spell changes from a projectile to a surrounding volley of fire, it juggles opponents, strength depends on time held.
- Sample:
Up Smash: (Thunder to Thundaga) Creates a storm of thunder surrounding Sora when when surrounded by enemies. Strength depends on time held.
- Sample:
(Thunder to Thundaga) Creates a single bolt of lightning that singles in on a target and explodes damaging close opponents.
- Sample:
Down Smash: (Deep Freeze to Glacier to Ice Barrage) Charges a blizzard spell up. First form is Deep Freeze, when unleashed Sora takes a moment to charge, then unleashes a spell that freezes enemies in immediate vicinity. Second Form is Glacier, a smaller charger, and smaller area of freezing, but it launches foes from Sora in random directions. Lastly Ice barrage costs nothing to charge up and will make a glacier shooting upwards in front of Sora.
- Samples:
(Reflect - Reflega) When about to be attacked unleash this attack to cast reflect it will quarter the damage and unleash the attack back at the opponent and any near it with the barrier bursting outwards. The attack is multiplied based on the time held down (Reflect = x0.5, Reflera = x1, Reflega = x1.5) range also depends on time held down.
- Sample:
Neutral Special: (Strike Raid) Hurl the Keyblade at an enemy. Select followup attack at right time for a combo.
- Sample:
(Valor Form) When no opponents are near Sora, he transforms into Valor Form, weilding two keyblades his strength is boosted and he attacks twice with each attack except for magic (Smashes) and grabs.
- Sample:
Side Special: (Sonic Blade) Slash an enemy while rushing past. Select followup attack at right time for a combo.
- Sample:
(Wisdom Form) When no one is near Sora he activates Wisdom Form, this form deactivates all physical attacks (Neutrals and Aerials) and changes them out for magic homing bullets. All his magic is upgraded (Smashes) so it is instantly it's highest form (Full Charge).
- Sample:
Up Special: (Ragnarok) An aerial devastating combo, bringing Sora up a small bit but causing massive damage. Timing a the special button after the combo can launch a massive amount of projectiles outwards. The burst of projectiles fires the player backwards a bit.
- Sample:
Down Special: (Ars Arcanum) A formidable attack, after the combo, select followup attack again for a double combo.
- Sample:
(Master Form) When no opponents are by Sora, he transforms into master form, weilding two keyblades again, attacks now have more range on them (All attacks) but deal slightly less damage.
- Sample:
Taunt: Sora throws and uses an ether. (Throws a bottle in the air which breaks splashing on to him, taunt can damage those above Sora.)
Get Up Attack: (Retaliating Slash) When knocked down, quickly regains balance and counterattacks.
Ledge: (Finishing Leap) Unleashes a powerful guard-piercing attack.
