Cause it will be a very long time till we get to that point of the game. And if so, what else will there be left for the community to do since they can no longer contribute to the game?

The fact that it's a long way off is exactly my point. Say for example Monster Hunter wins his suggestion poll and makes it to the list. Because of the overwhelming number of past voters who are never coming back here to vote for newer candidates, regardless of his actual popularity the Monster Hunter will have absolutely no chance of winning, and that is completely unfair. Whatever the voting group, it needs to have the same options presented to the whole group, and that is why a long term voting system will always be unfair. A relatively short duration poll is the only fair way. That, or implementing a system to cut out the votes of older users who have not been on in recent times., ut this will be tough to keep up with and determine a fair system, so it's much easier to just end the voting and let it start fresh much later on, and when it does at that point no new suggestions are allowed to enter the poll.

But yea, I dont mind further discussing this on a different thread.

Well on the topic of wiki, video, etc. I think user-created movesets should be added to their respective characters. Seeing that a character has a moveset can influence how someone votes because they actually get an idea of how that character would play.
