| The Monster Hunter (TMH)Overview and Appearance:The Monster Hunter from the Monster Hunter series is, in my opinion, an excellent candidate for Crusade DLC. He not only has relevance with Nintendo, but his games are a fun and exciting mix of action, rpg and good-ol' dragon slaying awesomeness. He also has many tools and weapons available to him, giving him the potential for an interesting moveset. And finally, HE can be a SHE as well, with fully customizable character creation in the MH games that allow players to make their character as either male or female, with neither being the canonically correct version over the other. TMH as both male and female sporting the oh-so-famous Rathalos armor (the Rathalos wyvern is seen as the mascot of the game along with the Hunter himself/herself). - Spoiler:
Nintendo Relevance:Monster Hunter Tri - Wii (Nintendo Exclusive) Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate - 3DS, Wii U (Nintendo Exclusive) Monster Hunter 4 (September 2013) - 3DS (Confirmed to be only on 3DS and no other systems when released.) MH4 3DS exclusive references: - Spoiler:
http://www.modojo.com/news/monster_hunter_4_3ds_exclusivity_came_down_to_timing http://gematsu.com/2012/09/why-monster-hunter-4-is-3ds-exclusive http://www.justpushstart.com/2013/05/monster-hunter-4-coming-this-september-in-japan-exclusive-to-3ds/ Moveset Proposal- Spoiler:
Overview In the Monster Hunter games, the Hunter has seemingly unlimited access to not only several weapon types, but a plethora of items to drink, throw, and place during the hunt. Keeping in tradition with most Super Smash Bros. characters, I've gone with the "pull random things out of nowhere" concept to evenly represent each weapon type and several items in the MH games.
Physics In a full suit of armor, and carrying many different items and weapons, TMH is on the heavier and slower side.
Normals Jab: Sword and Shield Slash Combo Generic SnS combo, seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlL2f4jOkV4 (skip to 1:29) Forward Tilt: Lance Stab TMH stabs forward with his lance. Up Tilt: Dual Blades Uppercut TMH slashes upward with his dual blades in a quick, 2-hit attack. Down Tilt: Longsword Retreat TMH slashes low with his longsword while stepping backward to attack and dodge as one motion.
Smashes Forward Smash: Great Sword Charge Attack TMH pulls out his great sword and swings it vertically down with immense force. Up Smash: Gunlance Wyvern's Fire TMH pulls out his gunlance and fires a powerful shotgun burst at a 45 degree angle upward. Down Smash: Switch-Axe Phial Combo TMH slashes down with his switch-axe. If the attack hits, the axe then switches to sword-mode and fires off an explosion from the phial.
Aerials Neutral Air: Great Sword TMH swings his great sword around him, similar to Ike's Neutral Air. Forward Air: Lance TMH stabs forward with his lance. Back Air: Dual Blades TMH spins around and slashes behind himself multiple times with his dual blades. Up Air: Sword and Shield TMH slashes above him with his sword and holds his shield over-head to attack and defend in one motion. Down Air: Bow TMH fires an arrow from his bow downward.
Specials Neutral Special: Bowgun TMH pulls out a bow gun and fires a bullet for each time the B button is pressed, up to 6 times before having to reload the gun. TMH will reload automatically after every 6th shot. Aimable, not chargable. Side Special: Long Sword Spirit Combo TMH pulls out his long sword and performs the Spirit Combo from the MH games. After the 1st input, the player must press B for each next slash in the combo for 4 total inputs. If TMH lands the 4th hit, the Spirit Combo becomes stronger by 1 stage, stackable up to 3 times. But if TMH misses with the 4th strike, the Combo becomes weaker by 1 stage, with the minimum being no buffs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKmY80qIoPg (Skip to 1:30-1:36, 2:30-2:39, and 4:27-4:34. Notice how the blade and Spirit Gauge glow white then yellow then red as the player lands the Sprit Combo's 4th move the get to the next stage of power.) Up Special: Hammer Whirlwind TMH pulls out his hammer and performs a spinning attack that can move along floors. It is also chargeable, and will have longer duration based on how long it's charged for. When used in the air, TMH will rise and can still move left and right while rising.
(Vote for your favorite Down Special idea, or vote against all 4 D-Specials and suggest your own!) Down Special 1: First-Aid Med TMH drinks a potion to heal himself, in the form of reducing his %. He can only carry a limited amount on him at a time, so he only has enough for 1 use per life. Down Special 2: Whetstone In MH games, weapons lose their sharpness as they're used, and players must restore sharpness with whetstones. In Crusade, TMH will start off more powerful than usual, but his weapons will lose their bite as he lands attacks, requiring him to sharpen them when they become weak. (Perhaps a sharpness icon can be displayed, similar to WoL's Brave system.) Down Special 3: Pitfall Trap TMH deploys a pitfall trap onto the floor below him. Any enemy who steps on it becomes burred into the ground. Can only have one trap active at a time. Down Special 4: Barrel Bomb TMH primes and places a barrel bomb on the floor in front of him. Explodes when attacked, can hurt TMH.
Grapples Pummel: Well-Done Steak Well-done steak to the face. Throws: Hunting Horn Song TMH slams his opponent on the floor, then crushes them with his hunting horn 3 times, producing 3 notes in different combinations based on the chosen throw direction, then plays the hunting horn song to knock the opponent in that direction.
Other Moves Dash Attack: THE Monster Hunter Dive TMH does the famous dive-dodge from the MH games, slamming his body into anyone in the way. Ledge Attack: Dual Blades Dash TMH climbs the ledge and dashes forward with his dual blades held forward to stab opponents. Get-Up Attack: Carving Knife TMH stabs with his monster carving knife as he gets back on his feet.
Final Smash Ideas Rathalos A Rathalos wyvern swoops down on the battlefield and breathes fire balls at TMH's opponents. Hunting Guild Barrage Several hunters from the Hunting Guild come to TMH's aid, attacking opponents with many different items and weapons. Cha-Cha & Kayamba The Shakalakas that TMH aids in MH3 and MH3U come to dance for TMH, giving him random temporary buffs such as attack/defense boosts and/or healing %.

| What happened to the Barrel Bomb Dspecial? I vote yes if he gets that, though I'm tolerant of the Pitfall Trap as well. |

| Altered the poll options per Azure's request, because of this some votes on options below Yes with Pitfall Trap are wrong, you may want to vote cancel and re-vote if you voted for "Yes with none of these" or "No" |

| You changed the "No" option into a new one, moving out the old one to somewhere else, moving the vote in the old "No" option to the new option. |

| I deleted the last two options and then created a new bottom 3 options, i hoped the act of deleting the options would get rid of their votes but instead they carried over into the new options |

| I will leave this poll open for 1 more day. If it still remains active, I can give it more time. If not, it will be locked with whatever the results are.

| About this, what if the total number of yes's (no matter the Dspec) outnumber no's, would Monster Hunter join the poll? |

| Yes, it would get in the poll. But being with the options available, the Monster Hunter HAS to have the D.Special attack that won in his move set if he were to win. |

| I personally think we can overlook that detail for the Hunter because MH3U just came out recently and is a big hit for both 3DS and Wii U. Also it's been my dream to play as the Hunter in Smash. |

| Wow, what a big difference between these options. Damn, after it was mentioned that its another Capcom series, those votes had dropped. That alone already says how much Capcom is overly repped on the Suggestion Poll. |

| The votes are the exact same as before I mentioned it.
It's literally still 9 (combined every non-No option) vs. 9. |

| Well, if it´s a tie, the Down Special with most votes should be the one used, doesn´t it? |

| Considering Monster Hunter's new exclusivity with Nintendo and the feature of a Capcom representative in SSB, I'm going to have to vote yes for this. |

Therefore, Monster Hunter is now on Character Suggestion Poll.
Would you guys like to see this thread become a Campaign thread? |
