Because it's done? Because all tier lists are discussed in the BR and then released? Since always?

The only irk that I had while this tier-list making was Link and Ryu's place, but well, one opinion doesn't beat a entire BR. Other than that, it's perfect.

I'm not a competitive player, so this may just be how it works, but maybe change the G-Tier to Z-Tier?

@Ensane - BR's don't typically post all of the discussion that lead to the final results. That's for the BR to see

@Daw - Yeah, Link ... Link's Crusade installment is pretty terrible. Everything about him pretty is much worse than the console counterparts, and even on the console games he never did too well in tiers. He's nerfed pretty bad in 0.7

@Sneaselpuft - I'm assuming your confused about how low Toad is, so I'll address that a bit:
Toad has some serious flaws. Recovery is one major flaw. While it has a good horizontal distance it has very little vertical distance, which is one limitation towards it. Another is that it's extremely easy to edgeguard against, and coupled with it's slow traveling speed, this ruins the horizontal component of the recovery. Toad doesn't have real powerful kill moves in relation to most of the higher tiered characters, but they're not terrible. Better than those beneath Toad at least. Toad has few if any combo's, terrible range, and overall speed isn't impressive either. Toad does have a sort-of projectile, but its not that great. Way too much starting lag for a competitive match.

tl;dr
Toad is easy to kill, doesn't kill well himself, can't rack damage very well, can't approach well, can't space, and doesn't particularly excel in any one area to make up for those flaws.

@ph4: Just curious, but why is that? The only reason I could think of are to somehow avoid criticism, which in my opinion should be welcome. Unless it's being elitist, which is equally as bad. XD

I agree with ensane. There is no reason not to publish the discussion. It would help anyone interested to join the back room as well as spark interest concerning the metagame, due to showcasing an opinion that may be criticized.

Basically because with all of the discussion up, someone could easily claim to know much more than they really do. Getting into the BR would be as simple as a copy-paste. It's also partly to avoid criticisms on the discussion. This will sound extremely elitist, but this next part is simply the truth. Competitive play and casual play are extremely different, and so a casual viewpoint on competitive discussion isn't usually viable. And if your viewpoint is in fact competitively accurate, you either are in the BR already and took part in the discussion, or you should be in.

If all of the discussion were up, the problem following would be a flood of criticisms on it, with most of them being inaccurate or flat out wrong with only a few exceptions, and then those exceptions likely wouldn't be so strong as to entirely change a character's tier position, as I doubt the entire BR overlooked something that major. Not to mention the possibilities of flaming because of people's choice in main and their position in the tiers, coupled with a misunderstanding of what tiers represent

The best thing would simply be for people to ask about characters here and for BR members/balancers that participated to answer.

Ok, that makes sense, but still is slightly unsettling to me XD

You should probably then write on the wiki the explanations of each character's position in the tier list like they did for all the smash games. Like the one perfecthell4 gave about Toad so we don't end up asking about every single character in the future. In any case it would be better if its done for the next demo tier list as 0.8 is almost done.

That's a good idea, diego. Although I'm not sure how popular the wiki is. I don't even know the address for it.

Still, with 0.8 being released any day now, there's no point mulling over this.
