In this thread we'll discuss about totally forgotten games that no one seemed to care about. It doesn't matters if it is a game from 1970 or a game from 2008.You guys can post game covers, screenshots from the games and even videos, but please, don't flood the place. If you're not sure about somenthing,Google is your friend..Let's start.
Name : Shaman King: Spirit of Shamans
Release Date : June 6,2002(Only in japan)
Console : Playstation 1
---
Shaman King Spirit of Shamans is one of the last games released for the Playstation 1,thus making it a very rare and hard-to-find game.It is a game made by Dimps and Published by Bandai. The game has single-player and multi-player,and is from the fighting genre, however,it is not your typical fighter.
The battle system works like this : there are 3 bars, one of them is your life bar,the other one is your soul bar,and the final one is your special bar. When you receive damage, your soul bar goes down.Once your soul bar is completely depleted, you lose a certain amount of life and then your soul bar gets full again.Fighters repeat this procedure until there is no reserve life bar remaining. If your soul bar gets depleted when you have no more life bar,you lose. You can execute super moves when you're at your last soul bar, however,if you manage to enhance your special bar by pulling combos and connecting specials, you'll be given a chance to use a single super move even if you have a lot of your soul bar. Also, your soul will ask you to input commands during battle. If you succeed, you can increase your battle perfomance "%",allowing you to pull moves faster and deal more damage with specials. When your battle perfomance is at 100%,your specials and supers become cinematic allowing you to deal a lot more of damage. However,if you receive too many combos, your battle performance will fall to low "%".Also, all characters have a soul counter which allows them to deal huge amounts of damage to their opponents if they can use it when a special or super is about to hit them. However, the starting lag is pretty high.If you have a high battle performance, your soul counter becomes a lot faster. There is a story mode, versus mode, survival mode, training mode, arcade mode, etc.
The story mode is made of battles and mini-games.Depending on your answers and on your perfomance during mini-games,you may face different opponents and unlock different characters. The main character,Yoh,has three forms in this game.I'll leave 2 links here, the first one leads to a regular battle in Shaman King: Spirit of Shamans, and the second one leads to a demonstration of how useful soul counter can be.
