For anyone who hasn't played the game yet, The Battle Cats is a free-to-play tower defense game made by PONOS for Android mobile devices, filled to the brim with wacky characters of all shapes and sizes. The game itself started in Japan in 2012, originally called "Battle Nekos", and then it was released in America in 2014. The plot of the game is the player must select their team of cats, each with their own attacks, strengths and weaknesses, and send them out to kill enemies, protect the Cat Base, and conquer the world. Now I know this sounds like an awkward idea, but playing Battle Cats as much as I have, I think this would be a cool idea for a composite moveset. For the Battle Cat's moveset, it would fight like the Piranha Plant; using numerous skills and attacks of multiple Cat types from it's own game. Here's what I'm thinking:
The Battle Cat would be a lightweight character; easy to launch, but it'd also be a little faster than Kirby.
Jumps: 3 (it jumps once, then grows wings and becomes a Bird Cat for the next two jumps)
Movement options: Wall Jump (becomes a Ninja Cat) Crawl (becomes a Koi Cat)
Stage Intro:
The Cat will walk out of the Cat Base and onto the stage, ready to fight.
Jab:
The Cat would have a 3-hit combo jab where it grows arms and becomes a Macho Cat. It punches forwards with one hand, punches again with the other, and finishes by biting straight forwards.
Side Tilt:
The Cat pulls out a cape and swipes it forwards. This is a move that reflects projectiles.(Matador Cat)
Up Tilt:
The Cat pulls out an axe and swings it over it's head.(Axe Cat)
Down Tilt:
As the Koi Cat, it stretches it's arm out and swings it forwards.
Dash Attack:
The Cat wears football gear and charges forwards. This attack has armor.(Football Cat)
Side Smash:
The Cat pulls out a farming hoe and swings it overhead from back to front.(Farmer Cat)
Up Smash:
The Cat becomes a Mermaid Cat and performs a back flip, smacking foes into the air with it's tail fin.
Down Smash:
A crystal ball appears under the Cat's feet and the Cat will jump onto it, making it grow spikes on both sides of itself. This move lets the Cat avoid lower attacks.(Fortune Teller Cat)
Neutral Air:
The Cat becomes a Wheel Cat and spins around rapidly to rack up damage.
Forward Air:
The Cat becomes a Hermit Cat and performs a 2-hit combo. The Cat slaps it's arm forwards first, then swings it's stick forwards after.
Back Air:
As the Bird Cat, it claps it's wings behind itself. This move sends the Cat forwards a little.
Up Air:
The Cat pulls out two swords and swings them above it's head multiple times. This move racks up damage.(Sword Master Cat)
Down Air:
The Cat extends it's legs and stabs them all down rapidly to rack up damage.(Gross Cat)
Grab and Pummel:
The Cat grabs a foe by biting onto them and pummels by biting down harder.
Forward Throw:
A cannon appears under the cat and it shoots the foe at point-blank range, sending them flying forwards.(Captain Cat)
Back Throw:
The Cat becomes a Psychocat and uses telekinesis to fling the foe behind itself.
Up Throw:
The Cat becomes a Swimmer Cat. It tosses the foe up, dives into the ground, then comes shooting up to headbutt the foe up into the air.
Down Throw:
The Cat Becomes a Cat Royale and jumps onto the foe, crushing them with it's full weight.
Shield:
The Cat becomes a Wall Cat.
Neutral Special:
The Cat pulls out a sniper rifle and fires it forwards. If you hold the button, you can aim the gun into any angle. You can also turn around while aiming.(Sniper The Recruit)
Side Special:
The Cat becomes a Bullet Train Cat and charges forwards, knocking any foe out of it's way. Using this move in the air puts the Cat into a freefall.
Up Special:
The Cat becomes a Supercat and flies into any chosen direction, knocking foes out of it's way. This move covers great distance regardless of the direction you choose. Using the move in the air puts the Cat into a freefall.
Down Special:
The Cat pulls out a grill and eats three pieces of food off it, healing with each bite. This move cannot be canceled, and the Cat becomes completely vulnerable.(Food Stall Cat)
Final Smash:
The Cat God appears in the background, summoning a bunch of Cats to run all over the stage, while Cat God himself will make thunder bolts crash onto the ground from the sky, dealing insane damage. Your Cat is completely invincible during this.
