| Name: Marshal Origin: Rhythm Heaven Fever Marshal first appeared in the game "Rhythm Heaven Fever" as a guide when you first start the game. Once the game actually starts, you can go to him and get your rhythm tested. Later in the game, you can finally play as him in the game "Night Walk." Although not official, Marshal resembles the Chorus Kids from Rhythm Heaven, and the playable character for "Night Walk" on the GBA. He would play like a modern "Mr. Game & Watch," having all of his moves come from his franchise. He would also have a gimmick, that I call the "Rhythm Meter!" It is a grey circle near the damage that you have taken. This circle will blink yellow in a Rhythm, this is determines when Marshal will attack. So in other words, Marshal HAS to attack in rhythm. You can press the button early and he will attack when the Rhythm Meter blinks. He will do more damage if you are pressing when it blinks. You can change the rhythm by taunting. There is a faster rhythm that does less damage and a slower rhythm that does more damage. - Spoiler:
Jab: "Glee Club" Puts on a bowtie and sings. This creates a note that works as a projectile. Side Tilt: "Lockstep" Does whatever the guys do in "Lockstep." Up Tilt: "Ringside" Pulls out a Microphone as if he were interviewing someone. Down Tilt: "Fork Lifter" A pea comes from under the opponent, and then Marshal stabs in it with a fork. Dash Attack: "Night Walk" Rolls and then makes a big jump.
Side Smash: "Tambourine" Slaps a tambourine. Up Smash: "Clappy Trio" Claps. Down Smash: "Crop Stomp" Plucks a vegetable out of the ground. The vegetable flies over Marshal's head, and falls behind him.
Neutral Aerial: "Double Date" Kicks a football, soccer ball, or basketball forward. They act as projectiles. The soccerball is least bouncy, football is most bouncy, and basketball is average. Forward Aerial: "Drummer Duel" Pulls out drumsticks and hits the air as if hitting a taiko drum. Back Aerial: "Blue Birds" Pulls out a blue bird and it pecks backward three times. Up Aerial: "Dog Ninja" Pulls out kunai knives and throws them upward. Down Aerial: "Samurai Slice" Pulls out a samurai sword and spins it under him.
Grab: Grabs. Pummel: "Air Rally" Hits with a badminton racket. Forward Throw: "Space Soccer." Juggles the opponent like if they were a soccer ball, then kicks them. Back Throw: "Bossa Nova." This one is harder to describe. I recommend you look these up on YouTube to understand a little bit. Up Throw: "Cheer Readers." Spins a book above himself with the opponent trapped inside. Down Throw: "Tap Troupe." Tap dances on top of the opponent.
Neutral Special: "Munchy Monk." You press "B" to the rhythm of the Rhythm Meter. Every time "B" is pressed, you launch a dumpling forward. If you screw up and don't play on the cues, the attack ends.
Side Special: "Donk-Donk." You jump on top of the Blimp from "Donk-Donk." You press "B" to the rhythm of the Rhythm Meter. Every Time "B" is pressed, you will move forward on the blimp doing damage. If you screw up and don't play on the cues, the attack ends.
Up Special: "Launch Party" You summon a rocket (Red Rocket, Green Bell, Blue Party Popper, or White Bowling Pin). You have to time your button press to go up a great distance. The rockets all function the same, they just have different timing.
Down Special: "Board Meeting." You hop onto a chair. You press "B" to the rhythm of the Rhythm Meter. Every time "B" is pressed, the chair spins.
Final Smash: "Rhythm Test" Marshal summons the Rhythm Testing Machine that appears in the beginning of every Rhythm Heaven game.
Intro: Enters the stage hanging in to some balloons, he lets go and lands. Taunt: Claps. Stars come out of his clap.

| This is personally who I've always imagined as Rhythm Heaven's representative, second being Karate Joe, and then minimal contest beyond that. This is looking pretty good so far, but I would suggest—and I think others would prefer—that you describe Marshal's role and origin a bit further, as well as what makes him valuable to Crusade outside of representing his series. Any character can represent a series, but what's something new that he can bring to us? That question can also be answered as you expand his moveset, but get your description down first and then you can fit his moves in as research for the character continues. Good suggestion though, and welcome to the forum. |

| Not bad. However, I had got a different idea of how to implement rhythm as the gimmick of the Rhythm Heaven rep (in my case, it actually was Chorus Kid, but it works for Marshal, too) without being to heavy on actual songs: The rep will spawn a metronome below its feet! And it even can be stepped on. Now here is the deal: Under normal circumstances, all his attacks do normal damage. However, Chorus Kid/Marshal could place a Metronome with Down+B (kinda like Pac-Man's hydrant in SM4SH). Now if Chorus Kid/Marshal attacks to the rhythm of the Metronome, then the attacks deal 1.5x of the regular damage and 0.75x of the regular damage otherwise. The Metronome will be gone after a few seconds, but an opponent can knock the metronome away as well and use that as an attack against the others, even against Chorus Kid/Marshal (just like Pac-Man's hydrant in SM4SH). And? What do you guys think about it? |

| It sounds neat, but I rhythm should be an important role in his special moves and not something optional. The metronome going away after awhile or people knocking it around seems like it would be a complete waste of time.
However, instead of the song playing, couldn't we have the sound of a ticking metronome instead? That way it won't be annoying to hear the start of a song over and over again. |

| Yeah, but it's still missing stuff, like Side Specials. I do have an idea for an front or back aerial normal: Marshal wacks the opponent with one of those robots from that one minigame from Rhythm Paradise Wii, where you build robots when you got the rhythm right. |

| I added more. Still would like help. Also fun fact: the robots you speak of are actually extremely big. Putting this in the moveset would bug me. |

| Fun fact: Smash never really cared. I mean, in SM4SH, Ridley is turning into Meta Ridley, and that doesn't make sense either. So yeah, I guess you can just ignore the robot's size for once, because they are a good back aerial normal in my opinion. |

| You got a point, but I think we can think of something better than just pulling out a robot and slapping people with it.
Or maybe we can't, i don't know.
Also, did I come off as being mean? I didn't mean it like that. |

| Not bad, buddy.
However, I made previously a tread about Rhythm Heaven, and about the same character (despite I name him Chorsu Kid Marshal)... |

| Ok. Well, your Moveset isn't too bad; however, I had in mind these ideas for him: - Spoiler:
-Moveset: (each move is inspired by some minigames of the Rhythm Heaven series) -Normal Moves: -Neutral (x1): Punch -Neutral (x2): Double Punch -Neutral (x3): Figure Fighter: A muscle figure appears, giving three punches -Side: Rhythm Rally: A paddler appears, paddling the enemy -Up: Moai Doo-Wop: A female moai appears -Down: Double Date: A boy appears, kicking away the enemy
-Dash Attack: Flipper-Flop: Marshal turns in a seal, and performs a "flipper flop"
-Aerial Attacks: -Neutral: Splashdown: A swimmer appears, jumping with a dolphin -Side: Fillbots: Marshal builds a robot who floats in front of him, hitting the enemies -Up: Working Dough: A dough dude appears, making an upwards headbutt -Back: Dog Ninja: The main character from this minigame gives a slice with his sword -Down: Micro-Row: Max the blue microbe appears, and dives hitting the opponent while accompained by other two microbes
-Grabs: The fisher from Catch Of The Day appears -Pummel: Headbutts the opponent -Side: Crop Stomp: A farmer appears walking, and lifts the opponent, throwing him/her -Up: Space Soccer: A Space Kicker kicks two times the enemy, for later kicking him/her -Back: Munchy Monk: A monk appears, slapping his wrist, and launching -Down: Fork Lifter: Marshal uses a fork who can give from 1 to 4 hits
-Smash Attacks: -Side: Samurai Slice: Marshal launches forward a samurai, who slices an enemy -Up: The Dazzles: Marshal launches one of the singer girls from The Dazzlers, straight upward with moderate knockback with high ending lag. -Down: Drummer Duel: Marshal hits a big drum.
-Special Attacks: -Neutral: Built To Scale: Marshal shoots a rod to two squares. Time it correctly, and the damage will be increased by 2% -Side Special: Karate Joe: Marshal shows to Karate Joe, who performs a punch to the player. Time it correctly, and Karate Joe will kick the enemy -Up Special: Launch Party: Marshal appears a box with a rocket. If you press again the Special Button when the countdown reaches to zero, the rocket will launch -Down Special: Shoot-'Em Up: Marshal launches a spaceship which will shoot to the enemies, if you time it correctly.
-Final Smash: Glee Club: The conductor appears in the foreground of teh stage and two Choir boys jump to the stage- they are invincible and tend to try to get close to foes Marshal adjusts his bow tie and is now also invincible. A shoothing rythm is played and the first choir boy sings: "Ahh" then the second "Ahh" and now its Marshal's turn- pressing any attack button will do: "Ahh!" when any of the choir boys sing, they emit a shock wave of sound that deals DMG to foes and knock back- as the song goes on these shock waves get bigger and stronger- the conductor from time to time will say: "Together now," - as Marshal you should press an attack button to let out a powerful shock wave along with the other two club members. If marshal fails to tap an attack button at the proper times, he can either miss attacking completely or expel a rather lousy short range wave- the other members show their disdain on their faces. eventually the conductor will bow and leave and the other two members will hop off the stage- Marshal puts his bow tie away as the S time ends.

| I understand that this thread is old(ish), but I still support. Rhythm Heaven is a new series that didn't get enough representation in Smash (There was a stage and character planned, but it was scrapped). Also like the "Modern G&W" style, though the "metronome" system should be saved for the specials (and possibly Smash attacks) |
