| NANOMACHINES, SON! Armstrong is a perfect candidate in this game where we have very little "Really Heavy" characters compared to medium/medium-heavy ones. Armstrong would have slow attacks with super armor at the start of his specials. Because nanomachines, son. What would he add to smash bros crusade? - He'd be a slow but powerful heavyweight character that's capable of combos if you catch your opponent off guard. - We need a villain from Metal Gear. - Last but not least, he'd bring a funny and competitive addition to the roster. NeutralSpecial: "Pass"Pass a football towards the enemy, dealing more damage the further it goes. (6%-12%) Press the special button again to kick the football, dealing 4% more damage.DirectionalSpecial: "Dash Grab"Dash toward the enemy and grab them, press a directional key to modify your throw. DownSpecial: "Nanomachines"Armstrong gains heavy armor, reducing damage from jabs and tilts while only flinching from stronger attacks. Has a health of 12% and raises by 10% based on your current health. UpSpecial: "Fire Smash"Jump up and slam down with monstrous power. Erupting fire from the ground. This move can be cancelled by pressing up again.FINAL SMASHArmstrong jumps on a defeated Metal Gear and throws pieces at the battlefield, dealing high damage with a high blast raidus. But thrown parts move slowly and can only be aimed at surfaces.

| First off, putting Senator Armstrong in Crusade means you're voting for a character that's practically a god. Second, the moveset seems to be lacking lacking other moves such as specials and smash attacks. I recommend using moves based off of his boss fight rather than using a football he didn't even use, even though his college ball joke was funny. |

The football was the only thing he didn't use in his battles. I just mixed some of the other moves to suit smash. BTW, if we have someone who's as "powerful" as Goku we can have Armstrong. |

| Why this guy over all of the other Metal Gear reps? I've only ever played MGS1, but is this guy even that significant? I've never even heard of him outside of one video someone posted in another topic... What about Raiden, Gray Fox, Ocelot... even Big Boss, Liquid, or Otacon.
Just the fact that he's a 'slow character with super armor' doesn't mean he should be in. We can put in Haggar if that's all we need.
Also, the 'god' comment really holds no ground considering Smash has characters like Ganondorf, Palutena, Rosalina, and Shulk, and there was an Elder Scrolls god suggested before. |

I chose this character because he's literally the single most powerful individual in the metal gear universe other than Raiden(maybe). I wanted to choose a character that signified power. Armstrong signifies power well, and with his "only the strong survive" attitude, he pushes that message with destructive force. EDIT: Raiden was also already suggested, Big Boss and Liquid would be snake clones, Ocelot wouldn't be easy to make as a character, and Haggar isn't as powerful. |

Yeah, I just said god since in the first phase he only takes .1% every time you hit him. I guess he was just suggested since he was the final boss of MGR & because of the meme. |

| Sorry, no.
Look, I love Armstrong; I've yet to play MGR and I think he's awesome. HOWEVER, there are far, FAR more better reps.
The best villain rep for MGS is unarguably Ocelot, really. Did you know he's appeared in all MGS games excluding Metal Gear/2, and MGR?
However, even then Ocelot isn't a good pick. I'm working on a thread for Big Boss as we speak, and I personally feel Big Boss would be the ideal 2nd rep as he's the 2nd most major character in MGS.
Armstrong only appeared in MGR, for one thing; ONE game. You can't just have a villain from one game as a 3rd party character.
In the end, there are countless other better MGS choices then Armstrong, sorry to say. No support.
Also the moveset isn't really anything special. No character should have a special as a grab, for one thing.
Sorry dude. I can see you tried on this but I just can't support. |

Sorry dude. I can see you tried on this but I just can't support. Bowser has a grab special. AI also don't really see how Big Boss wouldn't be a Snake clone. Eh, it was worth a shot. |

Eh, it was worth a shot. Bowser's special enables him to do various awesome combos and such, and the classic Bowsercide. From my understanding Armstrong's is literally just throw. Also, Big Boss has various different weapons he could utilize, such as a Fulton, the Rocket Arm, various different CQC techniques. and various other things. |

Fulton would be a good recovery, but wasn't Solid Snake taught BB's CqC? But Armstrong can throw his enemies skyward though, which sets up for combos. Maybe he can set up curve balls with his enemies. |

| The fact that it isn't a full moveset isn't winning you any points with anyone. Neither is the fact that you're suggesting a relatively obscure (compared to other characters mentioned here) character, with little significance to the franchise as a whole. I feel like, with some work, Revolver Ocelot could have a half-decent moveset, and I get the feeling you're saying Big Boss and Liquid would just be clones of Solid because Solid and Liquid are - Spoiler:
literally clones of Big Boss
. There's plenty to work with for both. No, Haggar probably wouldn't win a Death Battle against Armstrong. But he's more recognizable, unique, significant, relevant, and has more to build a moveset from. Sure Raiden has a suggestion already. You can always go leave your thought on the thread. |

| If Senator Armstrong gets playable, then there's still one question left: Why did the President grab Raiden's crotch? |
