We keep the unique moveset. Eh, if I'm honest I wouldn't mind the smash attacks changed (At least Down and Up smash, side smash is fine.). I also wouldn't mind having that can in the game... I really love the can. Other than that it's fine though. |

I vote you do what you did with Mega Man and make a hybrid moveset; Slow down the clay disks and add the shooting aspect to them, while keeping the current U-Smash and D-Smash animations but adding the light gun aspect to them. |

| I find it funny that DHD's Nair in Smash 3DS is exactly like ours in terms of the animation. |

| Yeah. When the first DHD leak came out and that was one of the most used moves, some people were convinced they'd stolen it from us. |

| There was a guy on smashboards who said he used to spam DHD Crusade videos to Sakurai's twitter begging him to add him
It probably means nothing but it's funny nonetheless |

Seconded. I would understand if it's an incredibly arduous task, but it would definitely be a plus. |

| What would you guys rather have at this point?
- Crusade Duck Hunt Dog
- Smash U/3DS Duck Hunt
- Mix of both (if so which moves)

| Well, I think a mix of both would be the best thing for both parties. Here is my change list: *Changes the Up and Down Smash to the ones from Smash U/3DS *Add the lightgun mechanic to the Side Special *Change the Down Special into either the Hogan's Allay Can Neutral Special from Smash U/3DS or to the Wild Gunmen Down Special from Smash U/3DS *Change the Final Smash into the Zapper Final Smash from Smash U/3DS *Change his Victory Theme to the one from Smash U/3DS, for consistency purposes Everything else can be kept the same, in my opinion. |

| I prefer that DHD stay pretty much the same he is now. Only his Final Smash should be changed IMO. |

| Both...
...as in separate, but I know that's not gonna happen, unfortunately.
With that said, Smash 3DS/Wii U Duck Hunt w/Crusade Specials and 3DS/Wii U Final Smash. |

| I'd like a mix of them, thank you.
-Make the clay discs explode, and add the Shooting U/D-Smashes.
-Also make the Final Smash at least partly resemble the one in SSB4, it doesn't need to be a cutscene or anything, just make it a little less generic than the current one.
-The can would be cool, but I understand if that's hard to code so that I wouldn't bother and I personally don't mind the zapper anyways. If you could it'd be nice, though.
-Possibly add a meteor smash effect to the last hit of his D-Air, since the D-Air in SSB4 is a meteor smash.
...And that's about it. Honestly I'm okay if you decide to keep current DHD, but I would prefer it if you mixed them up a bit since you asked us. |

| Would personally prefer the Hogan's Alley Can down special as well. Current DSpecial is sort of odd-looking and less dynamic than the Smash 4 version. |

| This comedic character is one of my most faovurite characters in this game. I like him by his moveset and comedic personality.
However, if I could suggest any changes, here are some:
-Down Special: I tcould be throwing an explosive can from Hogan's Alley, or summoning one of the bandits from Wild Gunman (like in SSB4)
-And, about Final Smash, change it for making the ducks remain still, and the dog finishes the attack shooting to the enemy, acompained by the bandits from Wild Gunman (something similar to his Final Smash in SSB4) |

| So about DHD's down special... I get that you hold and release it but why does he light up and freeze in place after you land a hit with it? Does this move have some sort of special property that I'm not aware of? |

| I've only played offline really so maybe I'm not the best person to say so, but I feel like of all the characters in this game, Duck Hunt Dog, moveset-wise at least, is the most lackluster, and probably the only one I don't enjoy to any extent...this applied to a few characters for me before 9.1, but as of this version I think he's the only character who still feels just plain...lazy. He just seems utterly weak overall, and for what, exactly...? A mostly generic set of mostly ineffective moves...? Ignoring that his sprites are ugly as sin for a second, let me elaborate.
His normals are...okay? None of them really stand out and a lot of them are weak and/or have terrible range, though the concepts behind some of them are pretty cool. Moves I DO like include his smash attacks, forward air, and up air...mainly because they're practical, not because they're interesting. But when you think about it...a strong, delayed forward air? A drilling down air? A double kick back air? A powerful forward smash with average range? DHD is basically Mario with a few exceptions, and the exceptions are basically just...the second most common thing you'd expect it to be (a spinning n-air instead of a sex kick, for instance). On top of that, his tilts are pretty lackluster and none of them have good range except for d-tilt (even u-tilt, clearly his most interesting and unique tilt, fails to multi-hit effectively half the time).
I could technically forgive all that if his specials made up for that, but they don't. His neutral and side specials are not only incredibly generic projectiles, but they're practically the same thing. I mean, one does 8%, the other does 4%, and...one sinks as it falls? So on the ground they have essentially the same range, and in the incredibly situational event that side special will hit and n-spec won't, it's likely a predictable choice that's never worth it considering the low damage it does and the endlag it has. His up-special is hilariously slow and gimpable, and his down-special, while the most interesting of his specials, has entirely too much endlag to ever be useful. Why does it have so much endlag? Good question, TaXMaN, because I don't think it makes any sense either.
I don't even play as Duck Hunt in Smash 4 because I don't care for the character or his moveset there, but even I have to admit that his Sm4sh moveset may just be better than...this. He's the only character who still truly feels like a remnant of old unpolished Crusade gameplay-wise (meaning, not counting the several characters with ugly sprites), and I feel like it's about time something was done. |

| Surprising, I was the one who made his sprite animations and move set 7 years ago. The Side special was or still does have the option to throw it at 3 different angles. Upward, middle, and downward. It was suppose to crack into pieces when contact was made. Neutral special was suppose to be chargeable attack similar to Zelda's Din Fire where the target symbol is launched forward during charge and the classic flashbox appears and damages once released. Up special does what was intended to do. Down special is Pounce. He crouched into position. Once released, he launches forward and suppose pin the opponent down to their back with the impact of contact causing the damage. At the time lay down and get up animations didn't exist in Crusade, so it would had looked awkward. Doing this special in the air would have DHD shoot down pouncing vertically to pin the opponent to the ground similar to Ganon side in the air. The ducks that were used on his move set were suppose to have the ability to be attacked. Example, if you hit the duck as it's flying away after DHD uses an up tilt, you could hit the duck, let it fall to the ground, and throw it like a weapon. This was never added, don't remember intentionally or not.
DHD was one of the first characters done when Project Crusade took over the game, so it's reasonable that DHD comes off rather lacking being such an early project. Plus I was a highly mediocre sprinter. Lol. |

| Then it sounds like he's quite literally a half-finished character then, lol That would explain a lot...that said I'm surprised none of these ideas have been implemented by now. If they were it would fix just about everything honestly (except for the sprite quality but eh). |

Braystar was referring to the colours too. It's a coincidence that the pallet resembles Banjo Kazooie. |

That would explain a lot...that said I'm surprised none of these ideas have been implemented by now. If they were it would fix just about everything honestly (except for the sprite quality but eh). His sprites could definitely use better animations. I was so desperate to make DHD playable in a Smash game that I (someone who can't sprite) did all he can to make it possible. Lol. Honestly, at this point, what would the community prefer today? A more polished DHD with improved move set? Maybe replaced in favor for Smash 4 Duck Hunt? With Crusade 0.9.1 allowing characters like Little Mac to have both Crusade and Smash 4 playstyle as alternates, if a similar option worth it for DHD? |
