| Hello! I just discovered SSB: C and this game is really fun to play. Pity that there is currently a Windows version while the engine GameMaker Studio enables you to export an executable for Ubuntu, so potentially all linux distributions. Source here: http://www.insidesocialgames.com/2013/03/13/gamemaker-studio-now-supports-linux-publishing/
I would like to know if porting SSB: C was planned Linux because it is possible.
Sincerely.
A Linux-player who loves your game;) |

| We were definitely going to get a MAC version going, and Linux was a considered possibility. Hopefully this proves to be useful, having Crusade available on multiple OS's would be great. |

| It probably won't happen for a while. The head developers would know better than I do anyway, so maybe one of them can estimate when it's happening. |

| Having a Mac version is even in question right now. The resources available are scarce and there isn't much Mac support for some of the things Crusade needs.
You're best off emulating it through Wine on a strong computer. |

| Wine not emulate SSB:C correctly, the game turn at 5fps with the last revision of Wine. Impossible to obtain best performance for this time.
So no, no emulating by Wine |

| I'd definitely a fan of Linux gaming, but I'm not sure if we have the workforce.
To tell the truth, I think game maker is a really crummy engine to work with. It's proprietary and, quite frankly, not what I call a professional-standard game engine. Not to mention a lame user base from the looks of it.
In fact, the top thing I recommend is that we transfer all assets from SSBC to another, more competent game engine that is also Open-Source. It might be a pain in the ass in the short run, but it would certainly prove to be well worth it.
Some decent examples of alternatives include Allegro, ZenGL, and Aleph One. If were are ever going to upgrade to legitimate 3D graphics in the future, Blender and id Tech 4 also works excellent. Id Tech 4 might need some modification though, since it is designed as an FPS engine. On that note, I wonder what a First Person SSB would pan out like?... |

So no, no emulating by Wine Running Crusade on Linux-Wine is and has been a big project for me. I'll let you know if I've done it at a reasonable speed. |

| Werekill, one of the old old devs, would run Crusade on Wine at full speed.
He also emulates Melee in 1080p at full speed on his Linux computer.
I don't even know. |

I don't even know. How the? I can only run Melee at full speed on menus and low res stages with only 2 players. And even then it's only for a few seconds. |

You might need to thumb through the settings and be sure to check the dual core option. Also, Linux tends to run more efficiently than Windows. |
