Vectorman was the hero orbot of his self-titled game, a 2-D side-scroller that spawned a sequel and was met with much critical acclaim back in 1995. As one of the uprising mascots as the SEGA series then, his presence in SSBC would be quite the throwback. In the year 2049, Vectorman saved the Earth. In 2013, he may join the fight against rivals of other worlds!
Vectorman's reign may have been limited to the era of the Sega Genesis, his popularity has notably dwindled since then. Many Genesis owners, however, most likely have purchased this game in some form or have played it. The character was memorable, and unique for being a bunch of orbs that moved in a humanoid manner.
Where is the Nintendo relevance however?
On the Sonic Gems Collection released for the Nintendo Gamecube Aug 11, 2005, and for the Wii Virtual Coonsole Feb 27, 2007, this game was featured in relevance to the Nintendo name. Even though originating as a SEGA title, this orbot fits well in the Nintendo universe.
As range-oriented the character is most likely perceived, Vectorman has many power-ups and unique attributes from his game that would vary his style of play. In fact, there is enough to make an entire moveset based solely off of these traits- with some to spare. Traits like Tick Punch, Scopion Tail, Rhino Charge, Bolo Gun, Missile, Jet, Parachute, Energy Shot, Pulse Beam are varying examples applicable to his moveset. Some of these abilities may sound similar to one of Samus' abilities, however, those similarities are only few and far in between (Gun/Robot/Transforms probably wraps it up). It's easy to make the distinction between these two characters considering the variety of tools Vectorman can use. I could easily imagine Vectorman transforming into a train that shoots cannonballs of photon for his final smash. Samus... not so much.
I can already see this character working in the game incredibly well, so what do you think?
Bonus Fact!: Vectorman made 4th place in a SEGA DLC poll for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, with 4th place being 1221 votes!

Addendum: The character may (Or may not) be easier to implement since spritesheets of the character can be found online. Being from the SEGA Genesis generation makes sprite rips readily available.

You should also mention the large demand he has to be a DLC character in Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed.
I'd be okay with this.

Should have been playable instead of Ristar. I vote yes.

Never been a real fan of Vectorman, but i wouldn't mind him. So yes.
Although the DLC in sonic and all stars racing transformed has nothing to be a valid argument, as both Joe Musashi and Vyse are playable with the game (but we all know how they went)
Maybe I'll make a Gilous Thinderhead poll eventually...

I voted no cause I can't really see people really pushing for this character. Or maybe just too much Sega for me, idk. I'm just not confident on this candidate.

I voted no cuz I don't see the need for this particular character. IMO, we have enough SEGA representation on the DLC poll, and like SK said, I'm not confident that this guy will get support once he's on the DLC poll.

I seriously think we should replace Ristar with Vectorman.

I'll give this poll 1 more day for everyone else to get a chance to vote or reconsider their votes. I may extend the end period depending on the activities of this topic.

Alright, since there hasn't been any major changes to the poll or any arguments presented, I can now say that Vectorman will be joining the CrusaDLC Poll as a new candidate.
