| I started posting this shiz on Facebook but I figured it might be wise to chronicle it in other places for the hell of it. Here are all the facebook posts in one area, separated: - Rules:
Omega Ruby Nuzlocke RULES: 1. Can only catch the first Pokémon encountered on a route. 2. Gifted Pokémon and Pokémon met before acquiring the Pokédex / first Pokéballs do not count towards first encounters on a route. 3. If the first encounter is with a Pokémon I’ve captured before, no new Pokemon can be caught on that route; I can either ignore it or capture the repeat poke. 4. If a Pokémon faints, it is dead. It is permanently boxed in a fittingly named “Graveyard”. 5. All Pokémon will be nicknamed. 6. Starter is based on the Trainer ID’s last digit. 1-3 is Treecko, 4-6 is Torchic, and 7-9 is Mudkip. If it is 0, I will use a RNG to select one at random. 7. Battle style is “set”. 8. If I get lucky and run into a shiny, I will attempt to capture it, though it won’t be used in the run if it is not a first encounter on a route. 9. DexNav cannot be used to attempt to alter the random first encounter. 10. EXP share is turned off.
- Update 1:
Just beat May, caught pokes on route 101 and 102 Team so far: Mudkip (Muddy) Lv. 8 Poochyena (The Dentist) Lv. 3 Zigzagoon (Gixx) Lv. 2
- Update 2:
On the route past Rustboro, leveling before Roxanne Poochyena (The Dentist) Lv. 11 Zigzagoon (Gixx) Lv. 11 Surskit (Skeet) Lv. 12 Mudkip (Muddy) Lv. 12 Been getting unlucky with Zigzagoon first encounters, but oh well
- Update 3:
In Dewford Town now, caught a Zubat in Granite Cave. Probably gonna level everyone to 16 before fighting Brawly. Zubat (Poison Ivy) Lv. 12 Zigzagoon (Gixx) Lv. 14 Surskit (Skeet) Lv. 14 Poochyena (The Dentist) Lv. 15 Mudkip (Muddy) Lv. 15
- Update 4:
Beat Team Magma in Slateport, and decided to try a contest for the heck of it Gixx the Zigzagoon got 2nd in the Cuteness contest, got beaten because of a Slakoth's hax also got the cosplay Pikachu, but honestly Im just gonna ignore it Here's the current team Surskit (Skeet) Lv. 16 Zigzagoon (Gixx) Lv. 16 Poochyena (The Dentist) Lv. 16 Zubat (Poison Ivy) Lv. 16 Marshtomp (Muddy) Lv. 17
- Update 5:
Just beat May for a 2nd time. Here's what my team's looking like: Surskit (Skeet) Lv. 18 Zubat (Poison Ivy) Lv. 18 Mightyena (The Dentist) Lv. 19 Marshtomp (Muddy) Lv. 20 Linoone (Gixx) Lv. 20 I'm debating dropping some Pokes soon, but that really depends what I'm given on the route in between Mauville and Verdanturf. Caught a Wingull on Route 110 earlier as well.
- Update 6:
Finished grinding for Watson. I boxed Mightyena (The Dentist) and Surskit (Skeet). They'll be there for backup if any of my current pokes bite the dust. Having both Mightyena and Linoone seemed a little overboard, so I decided on keeping Linoone in the party. As for Surskit, I felt that having both a Crobat and Masquerain down the line would not be beneficial. In addition, the first encounter on route 117 was a Volbeat, so I've decided to raise him in place of Surskit.
Current team, about to face Watson: Volbeat (Owl City) Lv. 23 Golbat (Poison Ivy) Lv. 23 Linoone (Gixx) Lv. 23 Marshtomp (Muddy) Lv. 24
All future updates will be in other posts |

| I don't know about Omega Ruby, but in Ruby those are literally the best Pokemon you could get. Lucky SOB Also why grind? Lvl 12 Zubat and lvl 16 Marshtomp easily solo Brawly and Wattson, respectively. Oh, and did you skip the May battle after Roxanne, or does Omega not offer that? |

| Omega Ruby doesn't have a battle with May after Roxanne, akin to the original R/S Kind of wish these games incorporated more things from Emerald, like the extra Rival battle you mentioned Currently the only thing I know the game references from emerald that I know of is - Delta Episode spoiler:
You fight Wallace for a 2nd time in the Delta Episode, and he has his full Champion team from Emerald
and also referencing the Battle frontier is "coming soon" on the Battle resort As for grinding, I'm just paranoid about losing Pokes, I suppose I should stop though considering its making things easy lol Anyway update: On the ash route, caught a Machop on the Fiery Path and have been raising him; he's a timid nature and yet he still hits like a truck against most things And my Golbat actually evolved at level 25, I was really surprised; not sure if it had to do with me playing pokemon amie with it or the massage you can get in Mauville, but I know have a Crobat in my party now Current team: Machop (Bartish) Lv. 24 Volbeat (Owl City) Lv. 25 Crobat (Poison Ivy) Lv. 26 Linoone (Gixx) Lv. 25 Marshtomp (Muddy) Lv. 26 |

| What's the story with you losing those three?
Also can you get Ice Beam at the Abandoned Ship for Marshtomp now or is that not in Omega? |

| Machamp was the bulkiest pokemon I had but it died from Norman's Slaking's dead Vigoroth-boosted Retaliate in 1 shot, no matter what if Slaking used Retaliate I would've lost someone
For Linoone I wasn't paying attention and didn't realize it was killing itself in confusion from a Wailmer's water pulse until it was finished off by the Wailmer (was checking Facebook at the time I think)
for Crobat I was fighting a Bird Keeper's Pelipper and none of my Pokemon were doing enough damage to it, it just keep confusing pokemon, roosting back its HP, protecting itself, etc (this made me realize that Pelipper has a good base defense) I finally got it badly poisoned with Crobat's Poison Fang, in hopes that it would eventually die to me stalling Little did I know a crit was imminent and Crobat fell to the damn thing
as for Ice Beam I'm pretty sure you can still get it in the Abandoned Ship (its called Sea Mauville in Omega Ruby) but I think you need Dive to get it so I'll have to wait for a bit anyway |

| Oh damn, that's annoying. How much has the layout changed? In RSE you can get Ice Beam right after Surf, because it's locked in a room whose key can be found next to the scientist. The only things that are locked by Dive are Rain Dance and a Water Stone. Maybe they switched the TMs because of how OP Mudkip was thanks to Ice Beam?
Slaking thing must have been annoying. I'd personally have tried to whittle down Slaking by teaching Dig to Linoone; with Wattson's badge you'd probably outspeed Slaking even with a level disadvantage. But that would mean having Linoone already out when Slaking comes in, which would mean having to sweep every Pokemon before that, which wouldn't have been easy.
Confusion, ouch. I always get a Yellow Flute. It'll run you dry of Repels if you haven't been buying them, but it's so worth it. |

| Wailer was actually a trainer battle, was about to surf from Petalburg to Dewford for XP and money from trainers but I was sort of discouraged when Linoone bit the dust lol
Abandoned Ship's layout has changed dramatically, you can't even get the first key to open doors without dive
Only real reason to go there beforehand is to attempt to get a destiny knot from some lovers, there's a chance they'll give it to you after every rematch |

| Well, uh, haven't been updating because school.
BUT I'm in Mossdeep City at the moment.
I've caught a few different Pokes, like a Duskull on Mt. Pyre and a Pikachu in the Safari Zone (which promptly died a little later). Not sure if he was ever mentioned previously, but I caught a Gloom on the route after Fortree and since I love me some Bellossom I evolved him as soon as I got to Mossdeep (dude in space center gives you a sun stone).
Current team: Volbeat (Owl City) Lv. 42 Bellossom (Pretty Boy) Lv. 43 @ Big Root Mightyena (The Dentist) Lv. 43 Altaria (Aunt Phanny) Lv. 43 @ Metronome Swampert (Muddy) Lv. 43 @ Swampertite
I'm debating what Pokemon I should add from my box to be the 6th mon. I've got a Wingull, Surskit, Duskull, Numel, Castform, and the cosplay pikachu. I could also probably pick up a Magnemite or Voltorb in New Mauville. |

| Beat Tate and Liza, got Dive.
Scuba'd around on Route 129, and caught a Chinchou. Think I'll use it so I can spread the three water HMs across 2 pokes, as well as having an electric-type. Had Dive on Latios, but I'm gonna box him again.
Current team:
Chinchou (Ishmael) Lv25 Bellossom (Pretty Boy) Lv45 @ Big Root Altaria (Aunt Phanny) Lv45 @ Metronome Mightyena (The Dentist) Lv45 Volbeat (Owl City) Lv45 Swampert (Muddy) Lv47 @ Swampertite |

| Taking another stab at a Nuzlocke run, though I'm gonna change the rules slightly
I can now attempt a second encounter if the first one is of a Pokemon I already have. To balance this, however, I can only grab Pokemon from the PC when one of mine perishes. Basically, if I have 6 pokes and I catch a 7th, it's staying in the box until one of my pokes faints. |

| I personally never liked Nuzlocke much. You have to either grind or be lucky enough to get good Pokemon. I liked how it forces you to use Pokemon you'd never use otherwise, but beyond that it didn't appeal to me.
Back in gen 3, though, I did have a couple of my own ideas for playthroughs, which I found more fun. There's the "Fire Emblem mode", which is basically no grinding whatsoever, so that you have to rely on catching and training the right Pokemon. There's also "Battle Frontier mode", which is basically Battle Frontier rules: no level advantage, no items during battle, etc. You should try them out some time. |
