I’ve read this thread about Dixie, and these days, no one will like it without a moveset. I’ve taken it upon myself to think of a very solid moveset for her. Keep in mind, these ARE just ideas.
First of all, I believe her and Diddy Kong should share a characters slot. (Like Pichu and Pikachu. I also believe Toad and Toadette should share one, but that will be discussed later since she hasn’t even been thought about, I assume.)
Dixie Kong is the adorable monkey famous for her pink beret and long, blonde ponytail. Her first major game was way back in the days of the Super Nintendo. It was called Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble!
Dixie would play as a fast, light weight character how would combo nicely. Her recovery and air game would be fairly decent, but I think her ground game would be where she shined the most. Since she’s light weight, she could be combo’d easily, and killed at fairly low percentages.
Battle Entrance: Dixie would ride in on the Banana Bird Queen.
Idle Pose 1: Taken right from her game, have her sit and chew pink bubble gum.
Idle Pose 2: Dixie would hop around, as if she were ready to fight.
Jab/Combo: Two punches forward quickly, turning into her whipping her hair, striking many times.
S Tilt: Dixie would swipe her hair to the side, striking a semi-decent distance away from her.
D Tilt: Dixie would crouch and do a quick swipe with her hair.
U Tilt: Dixie would punch upward with her fists.
Dash Attack: Dixie would run, and start spinning on the tips of her toes, striking the opponent with her hair. (Multi-hit move. Think of Mega Man’s in Sm4sh)
Get up attack: Dixie would swipe both sides of her as she spun to stand up. One side with her feet, the other with her hair.
Edge Attack: Dixie would climb up and attack with her legs, kicking her way back up.
F-Smash: Dixie would whip in front of her, hard, with her hair.
D-Smash: Dixie would spin lowly, sweeping the ground with her hair. This move would lag out a bit, like Shulk’s in Sm4sh.
U-Smash: Using her newly acquired Bubble Gum poppers, Dixie launches a few shots upward.
N-Air: She performs a cartwheel in the air.
F-Air: Dixie kicks forward with her foot.
B-Air: Dixie does a backwards kick.
U-Air: Dixie swipes her hand up, slapping above her.
Grab: Dixie would sling her hair forward, grabbing the opponent.
Pummel: Dixie squeezes her foes with her hair.
F-Throw: Dixie throws her opponent gracefully away from her using her hair.
B-Throw: Dixie leans back and throws behind her.
D-Throw: Dixie slams her opponent hard onto the ground.
U-Throw: Dixie throws up, and then does a handstand to kick her opponent further. This move acts a bit weird. When thrown up, her opponent wouldn’t be thrown up much at all, and are free to move and air dodge, but if they’re not careful, they’ll be kicked hard!
Neutral Special- Bubble Gum Popgun: Dixie charges up her new weapon, blasting pieces of gum at her opponents. If it’s held too long, her gun with explode and be unusable for a short amount of time.
Side Special- Barrel Throw!: Dixie throws a random barrel using her hair. The barrels can be different. It can be an iron one, or an exploding one. The iron barrels roll forward until they’re off the stage. The exploding ones are thrown a bit farther, but explode as soon as they hit the ground. Only one barrel on the stage at a time.
Down Special- Animal Buddy Call: Dixie points her finger forward as a crate appears. A random Animal buddy would break free and aide her.
Engarde (Fish)- Engarde rushes forward like Porygon 2, just not as powerful.
Squitter (Spider)- Squitter shoots webs at the ground, slowly down foes.
Ellie(Elephant)- Ellie shoots water forward, pushing fighters back.
Squawks(Parrot)- Squawks shots a single egg(?) forward, rather quickly.
Expresso(Ostrich)- Expresso rushes forward and charges into foes like Marril would.
Up Special- Helicopter: Dixie performs her signature hair spin and spins up into the air. She’ll slowly glide down during her decent. Can be cancelled at any time.
Final Smash: Banana Bird Queen’s Fury!
The Banana Bird Queen is summoned, as well as the many other Banana Birds. The birds fly around, striking into opponents many times. Near the end of the smash, The Banana Bird Queen would lay an egg. After a few seconds go by, it explodes. The explosion scares off the Banana Birds, then the Queen slowly flies up and away.
If anyone has any ideas for anything else, please feel free to add! As a Dixie Kong fan, I’d love to see her in Crusade!
