Best Movie Endings of All-Time

Where Verbal had finished his story in the Police station, and the policeman looking very smug he figured out Keyser Soze was Keaton. Only to turn around and realise all the names given to him by Verbal were all taken from the board behind him and were all aliases. Then rushing out the station to find him, all the while Verbal's leg miraculously fixes, and he steps into the car to meet Kobayashi, revealing Verbal was Soze. It then cuts back to a earlier part in the film with Verbal saying "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the world he did not exist. And poof, he's gone"

Picked because even though I had it pretty much figured out he was Soze (Either him or Kobayashi I though), the extent of the lies being revealed were amazing, leaving you to want to see the entire film all over again to spot the little signs (Which are there if you look hard enough). This also makes my top 2 purely because of the quote at the end, which is by far my all time favorite movie line.

A Project: Mayhem member greets the narrator as Tyler Durden. The narrator calls Marla from his hotel room and discovers that Marla also believes him to be Tyler. He suddenly sees Tyler in his room, and Tyler explains that they are dissociated personalities in the same body. He uncovers Tyler's plans to erase debt by destroying buildings that contain credit card companies' records. The narrator tries to contact the police but finds that the officers are members of the Project. He attempts to disarm explosives in a building, but Tyler subdues him and moves to a safe building to watch the destruction. The narrator, held by Tyler at gunpoint, realizes that in sharing the same body with Tyler, he himself is actually holding the gun. He fires it into his mouth, shooting through the cheek without killing himself. Tyler collapses with an exit wound to the back of his head, and the narrator stops mentally projecting him. Afterward, Project Mayhem members bring a kidnapped Marla to him, believing him to be Tyler, and leave them alone. The explosives detonate, collapsing the buildings, and the narrator and Marla watch the scene, holding hands. They then show a one frame picture of a penis.

Best, twist ending, ever. This is one of those films that you MUST watch twice. Only then do you realise just how little both of them interact with the world around them at the same time. Also, to see Project: Mayhem succeed, leads you to think of all the things that must have occured afterwards, essentially creating a personalised sequel in your own mind.

At least, that's what MY reaction was when I was browsing movies one day, and came across this title. Now, it isn't the action thrill ride extravaganza starring starring Jean Claude Van Damme we were earlier promised but make no mistake, SNG is a fantastic, light-hearted movie and I wholly recommend it. In fact, if you haven't seen it, close this spoiler right now and go watch it.

Now towards the end of the movie, Kenneth is officially labeled crazy. Darius meets with Kenneth's supposed dead girlfriend, Belinda, who is alive and well, and was supposedly never in a relationship with Kenneth. The government agents after Kenneth tell Darius that Kenneth is suspected of being a spy after contacting several scientists worldwide to ask about particle accelerators, and breaking into two separate research facilities and stealing their equipment (which we were actually privy to one earlier in the movie).

Darius calls Kenneth out on his lies and tells Kenneth that she no longer wants any part of this. He tells her he's going ahead with the 5PM launch anyway. However, when Kenneth's secret workshop is discovered, and plastered all over the walls are plans for assembling what appears to be a time machine, Darius races to meet with Kenneth at the launch before the Agents can find him, and discovers him at the helm at a modified swamp boat, roaring to life as Tesla coils in the front begin to arc with electricity. Darius apologizes to Kenneth, and boards the time machine with him, just as the Agents arrive. They activate the machine and the boat becomes enshrouded in an electric bubble before vanishing.

What's great about this ending is that it changes your perspective on so many things you were witness to earlier in the movie. Obviously, Kenneth wasn't insane, in fact he was probably the most sane person in the movie. The Agents were trying to stop him from using his machine. And foremost, he did have a relationship with Belinda which tragically ended in her death, but if you'll notice his newspaper ad says "I've only done this once before." meaning, Kenneth went back in time previously, and prevented Belinda's death, forever changing the future.

After a long and heated debate of life issues ranging from religion to morality to light and darkness and everything in between, Samuel L. Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones give a fantastic performance in the climactic peak of their debate.
