How to Unlock every character?

As you all are aware, Crusade's 0.9.1 comes with unlockable characters (and stages) we set up for you guys to have fun with.

Understandably so, we made it so that you can unlock everyone and everything with a button press in case you dont want to go through the process of finding out how or summing up Vs Matches so this is a thread that will have focus on the community sharing together how they've found characters are unlocked!

As for how to unlock characters, let's have a little scavenging hunt! Think you guys would like to share your findings? I'll update this post with that stuff

CONFIRMED UNLOCK CRITERIA:

I'm not sure if these are correct, but here goes.

10 v.s. matches : Shantae
20 v.s. matches : Gooey
30 v.s. matches : Luigi
40 v.s. matches : Waluigi
50 v.s. matches : Chun-li
60 v.s. matches : Ridley
Beat classic mode (Normal difficulty) : Falco

These are the characters I managed to unlock outside of spamming vs. matches. I'm very unsure about some of these, but:

Shantae - Clear Classic Mode with anyone (continues allowed)
Falco - Clear Classic Mode without using a continue/Clear Classic mode on normal(?)
Knuckles - Clear Classic Mode with Sonic and Tails
Shadow - Clear Classic Mode with Knuckles
Ganondorf - Clear Classic Mode with Link (on hard?)
Geno - Clear Classic Mode with Mario and Peach
Jigglypuff - Clear Classic Mode with Pikachu
Saki - Clear Race to the Finish 10 times
Duck Hunt Dog - Clear Break the Targets 10 times
Luigi - Clear Board the Platforms 10 times
Goku - Clear 100 Man Crusade

Meta Crystal - Get 80% or higher in the credits minigame at the end of Classic

I played Classic mode mainly on Easy with 5 lives with a few exceptions.

I also unlocked Luigi by playing Classic mode, but quite frankly I have no clue what I did to unlock him. I played Classic mode mainly on Easy with 5 lives with a few exceptions.

Meta Crystal is unlocked by getting 80% or higher at the end of the credits of Classic. Saki is unlocked by completing Race to the Finish with 10 different characters. I'm not sure about Duck Hunt.

I updated my list with that information, then.
If that's the case for Saki, then Duck Hunt Dog and Luigi probably have something to do with Target Test or Board the Platforms, all things considered...

Can confirm that you need to play as Mario and Peach in Classic to unlock Geno. Bowser isn't required.

Duck Hunt Dog is unlocked by beating break the targets with around 10 characters or so, I think doing it in classic mode counts

Luigi and Saki are very similar but instead are linked to board the platforms and race to the finish respectively

After constantly unlocking and deleting multiple times, I managed to get all the characters through trial and error. Will continue to edit this post until I got as many unlock methods as possible.

Shantae: 10 vs matches (Beat Classic)

Luigi: 20 vs matches (Beat Board the Platforms with 10 characters)

Gooey: 30 vs matches (Beat Co-op Classic. I also got him by playing Board the Platforms once after erasing all the characters.)

Waluigi: 40 vs matches (Play a vs match of Mario vs Luigi vs Yoshi vs Wario in any order.)

Chun-Li: 50 vs matches (KO Ryu in a vs Stamina Match)

Ridley: 60 vs matches (Play 5 vs Death Matches)

Falco: 70 vs matches (Beat Classic with no continues)

DHD: 80 vs matches (Beat Break the Targets with 10 characters)

Ganondorf: 90 vs matches (Beat Classic with Link on Hard or higher)

Knuckles: 100 vs matches (Beat Classic with Sonic and Tails)

Petey: 110 vs matches (Play 5 King of the Ring matches)

Shadow: 120 vs matches (Beat Classic with Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles on Hard or higher)

Snivy: 130 vs matches (Get it in a pokeball and finish the match.)

Jigglypuff: 140 vs matches (Beat Classic with 10 characters)

Saki: 150 vs matches (Beat Race to the Finish with 10 characters)

Geno: 160 vs matches (Beat Classic with 2 characters out of Mario, Peach, and/or Bowser)

R.O.B: 170 vs matches (Play 5 Time vs matches)

Tingle: 180 vs matches (Play 5 Coin vs matches)

Mr. G&W: 190 vs matches (Beat Classic, Break the Targets, Board the Platforms, any one Multi-Man Crusade mode, and play a single match of Time, Stock, Coin, Deathmatch, and King of the Ring each)

Goku: 200 vs matches (Beat the 100-Man Crusade)

That’s all I have so far.

Waluigi's unlock conditions are a bit convoluted, I'll be surprised if anyone can figure it out on their own

This isn't a "character," but I managed to unlock the Hyperbolic Time Chamber by messing around in training mode with Goku for a while. Not sure how long or if I did anything in training mode in particular to unlock it (I did get a lot KOs against 5 other CPUs).

EDIT: I cannot believe this isn't the first thing I tried:
To unlock Flat Zone C, land a Judgement 9 with Mr. Game and Watch (unsure if it has to kill but in most situations it will anyway).

Shadow and Knuckles's unlocking conditions are weird...
I got Shadow first beating Classic Mode with Sonic in Hard mode and for Knuckles I did the same but with Tails.

That's odd, because I got Knuckles by beating Classic with Tails, then Shadow with Knuckles.
Sonic didn't get me anybody.

Ridley play 5 deathmatches
Rob play 5 time matches
Tingle play 5 coin matches

Im not too sure about this but something tells me it's a reference to Super Mario 64 DS.

I was told that Snivy will randomly appear from a pokeball and if she does you have the chance to unlock her. Can't confirm this myself though.

Choose Burned Tower with only pokeballs and very high item frequency

I got Mr Game and Watch playing 100-Man Crusade a lot, maybe it requires you to play with like 5 characters (last one I tried was DK).

I just unlocked ganon at 45 vs. matches. I did not do the classic method.
Also meta crystal did not unlock at 80% for me. It unlocked at 90%.

But you can always download the custom character if you really want him.
