Droe's Sprites

Hey!
I do pixel art as a hobby and want people to tell me what I'm doing wrong so I can improve.
I don't have a lot to show since I've only started spriting again recently, and I'm not very fond of my past work.
I'm new here so forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong section etc.
Also, I don't quite know how posting here works so bear with me.

Here is my Lucina sprite.

I think that looks pretty good! I'd recommend putting more hue shifting and contrast in the palette. I'd also recommend letting having individual colors/shades in the sprite have more "breathing room" in areas like the legs and cape.

First of all, Thank you for replying! I did take your advice for an updated version:



Not gonna lie, I did have to search up hue shifting.
I didn't do much with the cape since I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to spriting fabric.
I re-shaded the whole body including her arms, legs, and chest.
I redid the hair since I was unsatisfied with it.

If there is anything I missed or something that just looks off in general, I would greatly appreciate the criticism!

Looks choppy, But I'm just a kid messing around in paint.net with no prior experience.

First off, I think the animation is a great start.

I think the firs thing that could stand to happen is make the body movement up and down less pixel shifty (make the thighs move properly for it).

If seeing scrub Mugen spriters get better for a good amount of time has taught me anything, its that before you start on attacks you need your basics (idles, crouching, blocking, and the like) since attacks in general are a bit harder to grasp when you don't have a solid base.
