Guy's I am at my wits end here. I have no idea what to do.
I am using a Powerline Ethernet adapter that has pushed my internet speeds up to 150+mbps with a ping of 11 or 12 which is EXCELLENT speeds. But every time I start a match with someone who is in in Florida (I am in Georgia) the input lag persists no matter what I do or what port forwarding I use. (Evolve had exceptionally bad performance.)
The match starts out relatively ok I guess (while using hamachi) but gets worse maybe 2 minutes in. The input lag suddenly spikes and the game slows down to a bout 3/4ths of it's normal speed. It seems that the host experiences the slowdown, but the joiner has both input lag and slowdown. I even tried using someone's physical IP for joining a match the results were the same.
My opponent repeatedly claims i'm the only person he fights that lags the game so it's definitely something on my end. I have all demanding bandwith programs closed at all times as well as all ram heavy programs, my opponent is in the same region as me, my wired connection is incredibly fast and yet I am lagging almost to the point of unplayable.
Does anyone have any suggestions at all? Did anyone else fix this problem if they had it? I'll try just about anything now.
