Backyard (Backyard Sports)

Backyard Sports is the name of a originally computer only gaming franchise based on sports. The series revolved around kids playing sports like Basketball or Baseball within their neighborhood (usually inside somebody's backyard). It had games on the PC, Gamecube, Game boy, Nintendo Ds and Wii.


Now for the actual stage

Backyard :

This is a very basic model that shows what the main stage would look like. Basically the stage would have 4 variants with 4 different sports which would cycle every minute. The stage would have walk offs but would have fences that would block access to the blast lines (Like Shadow Moses Island but less extreme). Also, on each stage, the background will be focused on the game being played (the Baseball one for example will show an outfielder's view of the batter). And those players can hurt the fighters as well.

Stage: Base
So there are three things I want to touch on about the main stage.
1.(Grass: Max 3) These would be randomly generated obstructions that the characters can walk behind. On the Basketball variation, it would be water or sports bottles

2.(Mounds: Max 1) These would be randomly generated patches of grass that a fighter could use to get a slightly higher jump. The Basketball variant would have backpacks instead

3.(Fences)Now these are the stars of the show. Apparent on every variant (although each stage has its own type), these would block off horizontal kills and keep players from walking off the stage. There would be two ways to take them down. Either attack them directly (they would need to take 50% to go down) or launch a fighter with enough force. After they've been taken down, they will stay down until the next transition.

The playing area in this variant is outfield. Watch out for stray balls and pop flys!

Football

Time to settle it in the endzone. You better hope the home team has a solid defense...

Soccer

Once again, the fighters will put themselves in danger to continue the fight. They'll be fighting infront of the goal.

Basketball

Time to take it to the court. The fighters will be fighting under the net. It may not look like it, but the top half of the fence has no strength. Send fighters up there to meet their demise

Support but only if Putt Putt gets a stage too.
