SAGE is an AI (and villain) from the relatively obscure game Full Auto 2, a near-launch title for the PS3.
(Sorry about the poor image quality; not too many pics of the game on the internet)
What is SAGE?:
SAGE was designed as a safeguard for Maridian City (or the world in the Vita version) after a series of catastrophes. However, her power was disabled by a group known as the Ascendants, who later terrorize the city through Vehicular Combat Races. Throughout the campaign, SAGE acts as the character's "commander" of sorts, briefing the player on what mission they are about to do After defeating the leader of the Ascendants, SAGE is able to access her databases. Upon doing so, SAGE (through "Killer-Robo" logic) realizes the only way to save humanity is to destroy it. At this point, the player finds her in one of 2 S-Class vehicles, the Executioner. The player then confronts her at a hidden base, and eventually destroys her through the use of a Multi-Rocket Launcher System
Why SAGE?:
SAGE would appear in the Executioner, which would make her a purely vehicular character, and could help represent the "Vehicular Arena/ Battle Race" Genre of games. The Full Auto series is produced (or published?) by SEGA, making SAGE an obscure and new SEGA rep. SAGE could also help represent the beginning of the previous console generation, with Full Auto 2 being released less than a month after the PS3.
Moveset.:
Despite being a vehicle, SAGE is only a heavyweight, as the executioner was the lighter of the 2 S-Class vehicles. However, SAGE has great ground mobility, with a very quick walk and dash speed. Her air mobility is pretty poor. While her air speed and fall speed is very high, her air acceleration and jump height are both very poor (best comparison is Roy in Smash 4) Attack wise, nearly all of SAGE's attacks are projectiles, making her powerful at a distance, but is also very poor against characters with reflectors, like Fox or Porky. Her attacks are also somewhat laggy towards the end, making her attacks extremely risky up close. Attacks that are not labeled as "Not a Projectile" are projectiles
Neutral Attack/Jab: Machine Gun: SAGE open-fires with a pair of Machine Guns. They cause no hitstun, but can be used to build up damage pretty quickly. Forward Tilt: Laser: SAGE shoots a laser ahead of herself. Decent range and power, but has a lot of endlag for a tilt. Not a Projectile Up Tilt: 20mm Cannon: SAGE shoots above herself with a 20mm cannon. Good range, but has a very narrow hitbox. Down Tilt: Mini-Missile: SAGE fires a group of Mini-Missiles at the ground ahead of herself. Decently powerful, though also somewhat laggy. They can also be shot off the stage Dash Attack: Boost-Ram: SAGE quickly boosts forward with the Ram-Plate equipped. Decent power, though easily punishable. Not a projectile Forward Smash: Tank Cannon: SAGE prepares to fire the Tank Cannon. Being one of the most (if not the most) powerful weapons in Full Auto 2, the attack has outstanding KO power, but is also a pretty laggy attack in general. A character like Fox or Porky can reflect the attack back to SAGE, turning it to a OHKO move should it be charged. Up Smash: Twin Rifle: SAGE fires two rounds from the Twin Rifle upwards. Much like the up tilt, the attack has high range, but a narrow hitbox. Has some startup lag. Down Smash: Twin-Shotgun: SAGE equips a forward-facing and rear-facing Shotgun and fires both of them at the same time Short range, but good power. Not a projectile Neutral Aerial: Flamethrower: SAGE spins in the air while activating a Flamethrower. Covers a good amount of area, and can build up damage. Not a Projectile Forward Aerial: Grenade: SAGE shoots 5 impact grenades ahead of herself. Covers a decent amount of area Back Aerial: Machine Gun: SAGE turns around and shoots out a burst of bullets. Unlike the “Jab”, these bullets do cause some knockback. Up Aerial: Shotgun: SAGE shoots a Shotgun above herself. High power, but short range. Not a projectile Down Aerial: Mine: SAGE drops a mine below herself. The mine explodes when it hits an opponent or a platform, making is a pretty good move for edgegaurding. While it is a projectile, it can’t be launched back upward; reflecting it will just make it not hurt you Grab: SAGE powerslides in place, releasing a Smokescreen in front of herself. Decent range for a grab with little end lag, but noticable startup and poor vertical range. Pummel: SAGE shoots the dazed opponent with machineguns. Very little damage, but very quick, similar to a 0% Lucario or Samus in Smash 4 Forward Throw: SAGE boosts forward, flinging the opponent forward. Poor throw for combos or KOs. Back Throw: SAGE drives past the opponent and shoots them with a rear-facing Shotgun. Good damage output, but limited use as a combo move or a KO move unless used near the ledge. Up Throw: SAGE uppercuts the opponent with a Ramplate. Decent for comboing at 0%, but low effectiveness at any other point Down Throw: SAGE places a Mine under the opponent's feel, shooting them upward. Somewhat decent KO ability, but too high base knockback for any potential combos Neutral Special: Missile Launcher: SAGE charges up a missile to fire ahead of herself. The missile fired depends on how much the weapon is charged. Low charge is a basic missile. Mid-charge is the Hellfire Missile, which is low in power, but does damage over time should it hit. Max charge is the Homing Missile, which is powerful and can track opponents (though it doesn’t turn well) Side Special: Mortar: SAGE charges up a mortar. Depending on how much it is charged will determine the mortar fired. Low charge fires a Nail Bomb, which covers a large area, but does low knockback. Mid-Charge is Napalm, which lacks power, but provides a good amount of Damage over Time. At near-max charge, the shell fired is the Earthshaker, which has the smallest radius of damage, but is also the most powerful Up Special: Unwreck: SAGE becomes somewhat blue-brown in color with a static effect, before warping a distance in the direction the player chooses. If used on the ground, SAGE will move about 2 seconds back in time (think Tracer’s Recall ability from Overwatch), with a cooldown of around 15 seconds. Down Special: Auto-Repair: SAGE encases herself in a neon-blue cyber-like material and repairs herself, regenerating health. She cannot move or take knockback while recovering, but she can be grabbed and even pushed off of a ledge. Final Smash: Missile Barrage: A battery of missiles gets launched at the stage, exploading upon hitting an opponent or a Semi-soft/Hard platform (semi-soft platforms are ones like Delfino Plaza’s main platform). Somewhat similar to PK Starstorm
Misc:
On-Screen Appearance: An explosion happens, and when the smoke clears, SAGE is there surrounded in a neon-blue cyberskin Taunt: SAGE self-destructs, but unwrecks to the point just prior Victory Animation: SAGE Drives into the middle of the screen and performs a spin, ending up angled towards the screen Victory Fanfare: The Financial District's Post Race theme, first 12 or so seconds
Series Symbol: [IMAGE STILL WIP]: Either the symbol of the Executioner vehicle (The vehicle that SAGE is) or the symbol of the Machinegun weapon (The first weapon available in Full Auto)

Well, this was the first game I played on PS3, so I guess it could be called Nostalgia (10 years counts for that, right?)
I guess the other reason is to get a "new" obscure SEGA character from the last decade.

While it's a good moveset, I think Sofia the 3rd is a better 'projectile-car' character, so no support.

Yeah. SAGE is a pretty unlikely character, especially compared to my other suggestions. That's not to say I have seen stranger/less likely characters be suggested "successfully"
