| So...wait, does Ness now get his Smash 4 voice? I could live with that... Also, I hope that even with the voice change, Knuckles gets to keep STONE FISTS. Even better if it's a custom high-quality version of STONE FISTS. |

I agree with this completely. It's like how Scorpion's always kept his really old school "C'MERE" and "GET OVER HERE" cries throughout the Mortal Kombat series despite how outdated they are. One doesn't just get rid of such badass one liners! |

| I mean, I'm sure one can easily create custom high-quality versions of STONE FISTS simply by splicing fitting voice lines of Knuckles around. I mean, that already worked for the announcer voice in Project M (some sound splicing was made for the character calls of Mewtwo and Roy). |

I mean, that already worked for the announcer voice in Project M (some sound splicing was made for the character calls of Mewtwo and Roy). Easily? Not necessarily. It can be time consuming to make it sound natural. Not saying it's impossible, however. |

| Yeah, maybe not really easy. I mean, I never did that before, so I don't know if that's easy or not. I did hear examples of good sound splicing, so I do know that it is possible. |

| Sorry to bump but replaying this game, I just want to say it's really jarring hearing Mario's Melee clips being played alongside his Brawl ones, as well as Luigi and Wario. I get it's the same voice actor but I feel Brawl and Smash 4 had rather weak preformances for them IMO. If we are going to have them sound N64-Gamecube era can we at least give Mario some grunts/yells from Sunshine to replace the Brawl ones? That game has a great library of clips for him. For Luigi I'd say go for clips from Luigi's Mansion, SuperStar Saga and MK:DD.
As for Wario, I'd kinda like to hear his Wario World clips more than anything. "HAVE A ROTTEN DAY!" is too good of a line to not put in. |

| Changed voices:
Ness: Sorry but I don't like this one much, not at all in fact. It sounds slightly higher pitch than the Brawl portrayal and lacks the slight edge of aggression that he had in Brawl. New one comes off as goofy to me.
Tails: Good change, sounds more fitting to what most people are used to (the SA1/Heroes voice actors for Tails didn't hang around for long so they aren't typically associated with him)
Sonic: Roger Craig Smith lacks the aggression that Jason Griffith added to his performance in SSBB so he too, sounds goofier. This is made worst by the fact Roger was hired for the very purpose of being comedic and goofy in 2010. I prefer the Jason Griffith voice as he sounded more "aggressive" (probably because his voice clips were actually intended for a fighting game while Roger's voice clips are pieced together from various games.)
Current voices:
Mario: I like his current mixture of Melee and Brawl, I hardly notice the mesh at times. Buuut for better polish it's better to choose one style and stick with it. I'm a bit shaky on this though as I think the mixing of voice clips is unique.
Geno: His characterization sounds good, and the actor shows potential but some of the clips sound like they were recorded in a basement with the built-in laptop mic and aren't very audible when mixed with sfx and music, Not to mention some of them just sound a bit...off lol I like it but a few of the lines could do with a re-recording.
Snivy: Voice is all around good, it's just that when Snivy get's ko'd into the distance his ko cry is just an elongated sound for when he executes a side smash and not an all new sound, a tad awkward.
Ridley: Again the voice is good, just one small issue; It's a bit too loud lol.
Ganondorf: That small grunt after the first jump is hardly audible, needs a lot of increasing.
Tingle: All of his ko clips are very quiet, in fact I didn't know he had any until I checked just now. And a cry for the "camera bump" ko is absent altogether. His victory pose voice could use a slight increase as well.
Olimar: Missing the majority of sound effects he had in Brawl and Smash 4, just went over a comparison so can confirm.
Gooey: I'm guessing he never had a voice actor, correct me if wrong. But neither did Geno, right? So if Geno can get a voice, I think Gooey can too, at least in theory. Would help polish the over all game.
Little Mac: Would be nice to have his SSB4 voice rather than the random, but perhaps more accurate, NES sounds. The silence when taking damage or getting knocked off is awkward as hell lol.
Porky Minch: I think he is a bit too wordy. Sometimes he says some lines that sound like they run together and get jumbled in with the music and sound effects. imo it should just be simple one or two word phrases and grunts for all characters. (final smashes and victory poses being exceptions)
Saki: He too lacks a sound for when he get's ko'd into the distance. Actually he lacks a ko sound period lol. Also lacks a cry for when he gets hit with a heavy attack at high percentage. His taunt is also very very quiet and barely audible. Also could do with more variety in voice clips. (idk about S&P so idk how possible this is) overall voice clips could be slightly louder.
Duck Hunt Dog: Missing the "camera bump" and blastzone ko cry.
Knuckles: Very lowgrade Sonic Battle voice clips don't match with the few Sonic Heroes clips (I think) he has. Would be better to just piece together clips from Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes to keep things consistent. (rip "stonefist")
Ristar: Lacks a "knocked into distance" ko cry.
Rayman: I think the choice for the Raymanian voice clips is great but the variety is a bit too limited (he has a few more clips from Rayman 2 that are left out) and the clips are waaaaay too quiet. He's almost inaudible when the music is on at normal volume and is easily overpowered by the opponent's voice.
Pacman: I find his voice to be the most endearing in the whole game, for some reason I think it's so much fun lol. Only problem is that his distance ko cry is really really really quiet. Also it lasts so long that Pacman has already disappeared before it has even ended. increase the volume and decrease the length and he's good. His neutral spec. is also borderline in audible.
Notes:
Pleaaaaase keep Falco and Fox's current voice in tact. Would be cool to have Melee Link as the new voice.

I can correct that Gooey does have a voice. And by that I mean he has 2 voice clips. He has a sound for when he gets hit and dying sounds. He also has a tongue sound effect so if you want that counts as 3 clips. |

| Trust me, I actually liked the 4Kids cast too. I just think there needs to be more consistency, you know? so I'd be fine if they made everyone the 4Kids cast on the Sonic side of characters or updated their voices to their current actors. |

The problem with that is that, Shadow, Knuckles or Tails don't have enough appearances or voicework to adequately fit in a fighting game like Crusade (at least not without a lot of audio clip recycling) |

| Sonic 06 and the early Mario & Sonic titles have a lot for the 4kids cast, that's for sure. And considering the game already pretty much reuses assets from past games, I don't see that as much of a problem. |

| I feel that Krystal's "Looking Good" taunt needs to be removed and just stay "How lovely". "Looking Good" just sounds so much lower in quality, even though it sounds like it is from the same source |

| I believe that one of the characters that need the most a voice change right now is Tingle, his old voice isn't really a good fit for him in my opinion, so I think he should have his Hyrule Warriors voice, which fits him perfectly. Also his KO sounds almost don't sound at all, it took me ages until I put the game high enough to hear Tingle scream. |

| Saki and Kirby, imo, are in need of new voice clips, Saki's assist trophy clips are just too Irrelevant to the new versions of crusade now and Kirby should really get his Smash 4 voice.

| Maybe Ryu, Chun-Li, and Marth could use their current English voices (Kyle Hebert, Laura Bailey, and Yuri Lowenthal). As for Mega Man, he could use his voice from Powered Up (Cole Howard). |

| Doesn't Pichu have new voices in Ultimate too? I'd be glad to hear those. One thing that I really don't like is Crash's voice. It's from Nitro Kart (I think) but it just doesn't feel right. I'd rather make him voiceless or just say a "Woah" when he dies. |

| Well, for me, the only ones I'd like a Voice Change are Peach and Donkey Kong.
I'd prefer more Peach's voice from Melee (her voice in Brawl, SSB4, and Ultimate bugs me (except in some few ones), while I'd like hearing DK's voiceclips from Donkey Kong Country 64 rather than his monster-gorilla-like sounds (especially if we acoount Bowser hasn't his draconic-like sounds from Brawl) |

| I'd go for Pac-Man, Megaman, Bomberman and, dare I say, Crash Bandicoot. Pac-Man is the one that bothers me the least. I don't even mind his current voice, but I'd be much better with classic games sounds used as his voice clips. Megaman and Bomberman need zero voices. Zilch. Crash Bandicoot... sounds a bit too high-pitched, EVEN for Crash Bandicoot himself. Maybe take an approach to the Crash remakes, his voice is pretty much perfect there. - Chaotic Chao wrote:
- Heh, am I the only one who pretty much likes all the voices as they are...?
Except for Toad's I guess...why no one ever opts to use the actually-not-horrible-sounding voice he had in the N64 days baffles me, but I guess he wouldn't have as many high quality samples of that, so it's understandable.
Also I miss Captain Falcon's Melee death cry =( I like Toad's new voice. It just sounds a lot more unique compared to his previous one. |
