Open-Source Smash Bros.

My idea for Crusade is one I don't see often, but does have potential.

I'm thinking of making Crusade an Open-Source Smash Bros. fangame, similar to M.U.G.E.N. That way, people can add all types of characters, no matter how insane. The same can go for stages, menu layouts etc. I understand this could lead to alot of imbalanced and crazy character, but all you have to do is just not download them.

Basically, the Crusade team would make a tool similar to M.U.G.E.N.'s Fighter Factory. It would allow the user to create their own characters and stages with enough time and effort, and eventually export them into the .BIN files.

This was how Crusade was gonna go before the new development team took over.

Don't think it's gonna happen anymore, though. At least for a while.

If this ever happens, open-source content needs to have some sort of quality control.

Oh! No doubt, at least on this forum.

SSF2 is including expansion characters, so part of your dream can come true when they release SSF2 in 2030

You know I 100% agree with you. Making Smash Bros. Crusade an open-source game like MUGEN would be better than asking for suggestions and having people get saddened over having thier character not being added to the roster. I would like it if this game was available on every platform including Linux, Android OS, and OS X
