| Of all the 700+ Pokemon they can choose from, they decided to use Pikachu...again.
Pikachu Libre, when they can obviously choose Hawlucha since he is a fan favorite and that it's a 6th gen rep (which none haven't appeared, besides summons)
Hell why stop there, how about we get some more "deserving" characters like: Cyborg Pikachu, Fat Pikachu, Scientist Pikachu, Captain Pikachu, Ghost Pikachu, Gangster Pikachu, and Pikachu wearing a Raichu Costume. |

Not sold on the gameplay 3/10 not realistic enough Honestly applying some realistic/believable principles to a pokemon fighting game would be very interesting.
- Hitmonchan slipping and bobbing as means of defense while delivering all sorts of bullet-fast punches.
- Kingler crushing opponents with his huge pincher.
- Mr. Mime defending itself via the creation of barriers.
- Gengar using it's levitation and mobility as means of defense.
- Pokemon like Snorlax, Steelix and Rhyperior using their sheer mass as a weapon.
- Machamp being the ultimate grappler.
- Aerodactyl/Charizard lifting opponents in the air and dropping them for massive damage.
- Pokemon like Arbok and Seviper wrapping around their opponents.
- Psychic pokemon using teleportation and long range attacks.
etc etc Different strokes for different folks I guess. |

| The gameplay looks somewhat like a mix between Tekken and the old dbz budokai games, so the gameplay looks perfect to me. I'm not really into the Pokemon IP, but it looks to be great fun. |

I agree that we don't need a second Pikachu, but Pikachu Libre does make sense for OR/AS players. In that game we got a special Pikachu that dresses up, with one of the more popular choices being the Luchadore. |

| Luchachu is fine with me, and I'll be maining him. Pikachu is the mascot of Pokemon and a very famous gaming character so I'm fine with two.
We have like at least 9 more characters I'd estimate, so Hawlucha isn't dead yet. |

| Roster seems fine to me, RIP Nidoking though
@Sliss I'm not sure if I would classify some of those things as 'realistic' and even if you could those are all similar things to what can be preformed in the game |

@Sliss I'm not sure if I would classify some of those things as 'realistic' and even if you could those are all similar things to what can be preformed in the game 1) Which why I said realistic/belieavable (since I'm reffering to fictional creatures). Another term to describe it would be "immersive", as in making eternal sense within the series. For example, Kingler has a giant pincher, so it would be expected of it to be a slow but powerful tool. Similarly, it would make sense for Hitmonchan to make up for it's lack of astronomical strength and fortitude with technique. 2) I guess I would prefer if it was closer to the Tekken games in gameplay, while still having each pokemon true to its roots and displaying a unique arsenal of skills and abilities. |

There will still be more characters until the release, they've already said that the arcade version will get regular updates and I assume they will cap off at the Wii U release. I mean at this point we only have 10 characters, and Tekken 6 for example has 35 characters. Plus if this is the final roster we have some very strange choices, like Weavile, two Pikachu and only one quadruped (Suicune). If this is the full roster I'll eat my broccoli hat. |

What you are describing the Pokemon should do is extremely similar to if not exactly the kinds of things they do in the game, though. In fact Gengar does pretty much exactly what you described. I'm not sure I understand the issue you have with it? If it just that you'd prefer it had more '2d' Tekken style gameplay that's totally understandable but the Pokemon do preform actions that are realistic/believable in a fictional setting. |

If it just that you'd prefer it had more '2d' Tekken style gameplay that's totally understandable but the Pokemon do preform actions that are realistic/believable in a fictional setting. The main problem is that immersive/believable are subjective terms that have to with one's expectations, interpretations and imagination. For example I watched Gengar gameplay and it didn't satisfy my expectations. Sure I saw a lot of jumping around, but my idea of believable would be gengar using it's above average speed and below average size to sidestep around attacks, while also mixing it with levitation to dodge attacks and attack at the same time. This would be doable mainly because Gengar isn't particularly tall, so if lifted off the ground it could easily dodge low or even mid attacks. Perhaps the game would then turn into a logistical nightmare or an unbalanced mess. It's probable. However I believe that with effort, balanced could be achieved or aproximated. |
