Mario Kart 8: DLC Pack 2 Tournament!

Hey everyone! As you know, the next pack of DLC is hitting Mario Kart 8 a week from TODAY! (That's April 23rd, we're getting this). I figured that we should get together and have some fun on the new tracks! (Before I get hit like a brick with end of the year school projects).

I'll need to look into specifics in how to create one of these things, but right now I'm hoping for it to be on either Thursday or Friday (preferably Thursday, since waiting is for losers).

If everything goes well, we'd race through the 8 new tracks (on either 150cc or 200cc), and maybe more if people are up for it.

Currently, we have EIGHT(!!) people signed up to race:

3. Muah (SUPER SPECIAL GUEST RACER)
4. Mp3 Toaster
5. Ganon
6. Dr. CanadianBacon
7. Mr. Mistress (FROM THE DEAD!)

Leaving us 8 spots open. I would really like for more people to sign up, as the more the merrier! 4 people running around on Baby Park doesn't seem that fun.

Lemme know if you wanna join us, basically. You either need to have the 2nd DLC pack pre-purchased or have plans to purchase it on or before the end of next week, since the main gimmick here is to have fun on the new courses to hopefully breathe new life into Mario Kart.

I'm up for it so long at the time is UK friendly.

Timing's gonna be hard since Ganon and Mp3 are 5-6 hours ahead of my time (EST) while Dust is about 3 hours behind

We should be able to work this out somehow though, I can feel it

Depending on the time that is. I have 3PM - 5:30ish PM EST, and 6PM - 10:30PM EST working times.
If I'm too difficult to fit in than I'll drop out.

Muah being in the tourney gives me a serious impulse to join.

Those are times that can work for you, or those are times that you are working and can't play?

I suppose I should have been more clear, my bad. Those are times that work for me, approximately at least. 5:30 - 6:00 is about the time of dinner, but thats just the time estimate, it may be 6:00 - 6:30, idk, since it's only 2 people in my home I'm sure I'd be able to make it work either way.

3 or 4PM might be good then? I know that's not too terribly late for Ganon and Mp3 (I think), and that's around noon-1PM for Dust

I should've asked for what times people were available beforehand, thanks for reminded me Bacon

We've still got a week to prepare for the tournament, but so I wouldn't worry too much right now. Moving it to Friday or Saturday may not even be a bad idea, especially if we're doing competitive so we can guarantee everyone can make it.

Just a suggestion.

Thursday was a best-case scenario, course obviously that probably won't happen. Friday/Saturday sounds a lot more realistic

Alright, seventh racer announced: Mr. Mistress! He sent me a request over Facebook.

I'm going to try and figure out when everyone is available and make a time that suits everyone.

Friday/Saturday would be fine, and 3-4PM EST should be okay. I won't be able to do Thursday though as I'll be at Avengers 2.

As for how this'll go down, I think I'm just gonna host a room and everyone can join from there. The other option is to host a private tournament and have people join, though I think it may be a bit simpler to just host a room. If people have other thoughts, then let me know.

If we do go with the former option, though, I'll need to add everyone on the Wii U. Pretty sure I have most of you guys added already, though I think I'm missing Ganon and AEM; I can send a friend request to AEM since I know his NNID, but I'll need to know yours Ganon

Alright, thanks guys. I didn't have access to my Wii U yesterday since the only times I could use it my suitemate was watching Netflix, so I'll accept them later today.

Looks like Det might be joining us! He never said anything concrete though, so I'll just have to pester him if he's online tomorrow

What I'm gonna do is set up a facebook chat AND be online on the forum chat during that time, so I can communicate with everyone while we're racing

Basically I'm going to be hosting a room, and everyone can join me from there

It'll either be 150cc or 200cc

So is it going to go that we pick any course, a course from the DLC pack, or a specific course (Like going in order, all 8 tracks?)

You can't actually set the amount of tracks you play in a friend lobby, meaning we'll need to do 2 sessions basically, and add everything up in the end.

So you play 4 tracks and then it boots everyone out? Might need to reconsider the tournament then
