| Pong was one of the first games ever made, and it'd be nice to honor one of the most early games ever by making the paddle a character! Moveset: B: Pong Ball. Side B: Rolling Paddle. Up B: moving upwards. Down B: Plant into the ground to make people trip. Final Smash: a pong game starts. |

| The paddle from Pong? Seriously? I think it would be better if pong was an assist trophy (if those were to be added) or heck even a stage. |

you obviously have no respect for video game history. He probably, however, has more respect for video game history than you have for this forum. |

you obviously have no respect for video game history. You obviously know me well enough to make that statement. Grow up, just because I don't like any of YOUR ideas doesn't mean I don't respect the classics. |

you obviously have no respect for video game history. Dude, seriously, even if the game was all that great, it's JUST a PONG. HOW the HFIL would it MOVE? Heck, how would it attack? |

| Just to note something. Fans of this project have a respect for the classics. Otherwise, they wouldn't be fans of Crusade which is a project that caters a fair share of nostalgia to the fans.
Now, on to the Paddle suggestion.
Realistically, I don't see how an 8-Bit Paddle that can only move vertically can function as a playable character. How would it be able to grab ledges, swing a bat, grab opponents, pummel, etc.?

| I think the paddle would have the most generic moveset possible. Which is why I don't think it's even a viable option for a Smash Bros playable character. It'd be better off as an assist trophy (Like SSB4). SK makes a good point of how it'd just not work honestly, it any of the things needed to be playable. |

| There's tons of characters in this era that would fare better as a fighter, and although Pong is probably one of the most recognizable games of all time, there are tons of other games within a 2-3 year radius that are memorable and viably playable.
For instance, the protagonistic pixel in Adventure would be a better candidate, and so would Swordquest's human. I could list hundreds of different pilots and spaceships that could be as bite-sized as they look in their game to make them reasonable. There's Joust's birdrider, and the wizards from the comic-book version of centipede and millipede. Pitfall Harry is a better solution, even!
Fucking.. even Breakout's paddle is a better choice. At least that thing can canonically move horizontally. |

| I guess this suggestion is kind of akin to Tetris Block. I remember Dr. MarioX being seriously convinced we needed Tetris Block in the game. Not saying I agree with Pong Paddle though. No thank you. |

You could simply give it a really shitty jump But to be serious, I'm just saying that exclusively horizontal movement is probably better than exclusively vertical movement. |
