- Spoiler:
FIRST APPEARANCE: Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl (2006)
LATEST APPEARANCE: Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire (2014)
The Pokedex states "Regigigas: The Colossal Pokemon. An enduring legend states that this Pokemon towed continents with ropes. It is also said to have shaped Regirock, Regice, and Registeel out of clay, liquid, and magma."
This literal mountain of raw power never got much credit in the games due to it's terrible ability; Slow Start. Heck, even no ability at all would have been better. Naturally he won't need to be hindered by this too much in Crusade (but to an extent). I mean, think of the potential of a giant craftsman golem!
There is the obvious problem of ANOTHER pokemon rep, but maybe I can convince you he is cool enough.
Are you friggin serious? ANOTHER Pokemon? For the last time yes! Stop asking me that! And besides, I made this more for fun than anything. I'm not expecting a miracle (Though I would be SUPER stoked if this were considered).
Fine, continue to the playstyle or whatever...Thank you.
Regigigas is huge and bulky. 160 attack and 110/110/110 defenses are AWESOME in the Pokemon series (or would be, if not for Slow Start >.<), so it's obvious that Regigigas should be a tank.
The element of Slow Start will be included like this (I came up with it to try to find a unique method of incorporating it): Regigigas will start the fight with massive lag on his smash attacks, throws, and aerials. His normals, titls, special moves, and the actual grabs will be normal speed. This makes most of his powerful attacks unsafe. However, as Regigigas uses his special moves, his slowed moves will become faster, capping at a certain point. Time also increases speed, but not to an extreme.
However, more than the other bruisers of the series, Regigigas would be a grappler-type character, with emphasis on his grabs (I'll explain a bit more specifically in the Moveset segment) as a reference to Crush Grip, Regigigas's signature move. The move would also be a command grab as one of his specials.
Finally, Regigigas would have a recovery that would be on the worse side of so-so, but not absolute garbage, and no projectiles. However, he will have a manner of defending against them, since without one he can gain no leverage in the early game.
MovesetJab 1: Regigigas thrusts his arm closest to the opponent out. Almost zero knockback.
Jab 2: Regigigas punches the opponent with his other arm. Small knockback. Being the glacier he is, he only has a two hit jab.
Side Tilt: Regigigas backhands the opponent. Large range. Not much knockback.
Up Tilt: Regigigas swipes upward. Decent knockback.
Down Tilt: Regigigas hits the floor, causing a small shockwave in front of him.
Ledge Attack: Regigigas headbutts the foe. Slow and telegraphed, but low endlag and high power.
Wakeup Attack: Regigigas simply gets up while shards of rock erupt on either side of him.
Side Smash: Regigigas swings both his arms at his foe with maximum force.
Up Smash: Regigigas cups his hands with lightning charging between them, and then spreads his hands out over his head to create a Shock Wave.
Down Smash: Regigigas slams his arms down to his sides.
Neutral Aerial: Regigigas thrusts his arm that is closest to the
screen out. Has a small hitbox behind him too, but it deals less damage and knockback than the one in front.
Forward Aerial: Regigigas swings both arms down, hitting the opponent. Has a sourspot at Regigigas's upper arms and a sweetspot at the top of his fists. When sweetspotted, the move spikes.
Backward Aerial: Regigigas turns his body a bit and kicks both legs behind him. Not very strong, but his quickest aerial.
Up Aerial: Regigigas claps his hands above him. Kinda crappy.
Down Aerial: Regigigas curls his legs and falls.
Grab: Long arms give outrageous grab range. Like Donkey Kong, can move while grabbing. Can hold them longer, but moves slower. Holds opponents with one arm.
Forward Throw: Regigigas rears his arm back and throws the opponent with all his might. Quicker than it sounds. Also deadly.
Backward Throw: Regigigas slams his opponent into the dirt, quickly turns, and then punts them like a football.
Up Throw: Regigigas holds the foe out and then blasts them away with energy.
Down Throw: Regigigas holds his foe on the ground and causes a small shockwave, dealing lots of damage repeatedly. He then simply backs away a bit. Briefly stuns opponents.
Neutral Special: Crush Grip. Regigigas grabs the foe and crushes them, then lets them fall to the ground. Good for setups, and can grab foes in the air.
Side Special: Thunder Punch. Regigigas throws an electric punch that breaks shields easy. Other options are Ice Punch, which would freeze airborne foes, and Fire Punch, which just straight up kills, but I really don't like the idea of a variable move.
Up Special: Zen Headbutt. Regigigas launches upward while encased in psychic energy. Not much distance but very maneuverable.
Down Special: Wide Guard Regigigas instantly creates an energy shield that absorbs projectiles but doesn't reflect them. However, it has pretty much zero startup or endlag.
Taunt: Regigigas roars a mighty roar.
Taunt 2: Regigigas crushes a large rock in his hand.
Taunt 3: Regigigas dances a bit with a mini Regirock, Regice, and Registeel.
FINAL SMASH: Creations. Regigigas summons the three Regis who each use powerful, wide-ranged attacks on nearby foes, and Regigigas finishes it off with an explosion.
