Not sure if this has been reported (or fixed), but I didn't see any threads address these issues so I'd figure I'd make one.
These glitches have been trigger by starting up a match normally, or by selecting "Rematch" after the current one is concluded. They appear to be strictly limited to the beginning of the matches.
Misloads are present in both versions, though more less reoccurring in v0.8.4.
In Both Versions,
- Announcer starts the match normally
- Matches start with black boxes and artifacts in place of the character sprites.
- Escape key still shuts down the game as intended
In 0.8.4,
- Match starts with camera having above the stage.
- HUD and Characters do not spawn, no controls respond.
- Player Character is completely missing, game speed drops considerably.
^ When ally CPU cleared stage (campaign) by killing the other 2 CPUs, the match did not end.
In 0.9Test,
- Parts of the stages or characters do not load in. Hyrule Castle being the most frequent offender.
^ Colliding boxes load in as intended. However the visual model is absent.
----
Crashing. When it happens, the game crashes completely along with the host machine (No Bluescreen, Unit blacks out).
Crashes can sometimes take place just after closing and reloading the game. Which I've had happen several times after rebooting from a Misload resulting in the game freezing, hanging, etc.
- All instances happen during the loading of the stage or just as it is about to start.

Otherwise, the game is being run with JoyToKey in the background.
I'll try to get some screenshots of the misloads as I run into them again. However, I can't provide anything else for the crashing bit as I am not getting any sort of error report or notification of system failure.
