Does anybody know anything about speaker wire?

I broke my headphones recently (ok, today), so I started a little mini project to hook up this old speaker I have (it uses the two-wire deal) to the end of my broke headphones.

Problem is, I don't know jack shit about headphones or speaker wire. I had a little success earlier today but it's long gone.

Anybody know what wire goes where?

Have you tried some research online? That should help, if not solve it
