well hi everyone this is my first time here and i got a cool character for you guys maxwell is the main protagonist of the game scribblenauts  and he is owned by warner bros he has the power to summon anything from his notebook witch can make interesting play style for him i imagine his move set being

neutral Special ray gun he slowly spawns out a ray gun to do large damage but it olny has 6 shots (like the game) then he has to spawn another one

side Special he tosses one of three balls in this order baseball far range low damage basketball mid range mid damage and bowling ball low range high damage

up Special cannon shooter maxwell climes in a cannon and launches out it works like sonic's up Special but it shoots diagonally
(or you can take the easy way out and just have Maxwell spawn wings and fly like pit)

down Special animal friend maxwell spawns a randome animal who just runns untill it falls of the edge it can be used as an attack and as a defence like how zelda's down special
works in ssb4

final smash creativity explosion Maxwell spawns a ton of crazy stuff like Cthulhu got trex and batman (yes all things from the game) to go around and hit everything around maxwell

How does this take advantage of Maxwell's notebook gimmick? It seems like he has the typical special attacks and then a final smash that summons things if I'm reading correctly. I think more can be done for him.

that's his ability he can spawn anything from his magic notebook by writeing it his game that that's why the ray-gun move works the way it does where he has to re spawn it and truthfully the moves can be changed to have literrely anything spawn from them ex: insted of shooting out baseballs he can fire a tiny rubber  head that flyes and poops cany (actually something from the game other than the candy part) and i'm totally up to change his move set to fit more weird randomness from the game i just was thinking to keep the weirdness on a down low with some people wanting less of a random factor on charicters

I think that's partly the reason why people are split about his inclusion in a smash title: he simply has too much. I've said it before, but he has the ability to summon warheads, floods, wormholes, dark matter, mythos, and radioactive waste. Why would he waste his time in real combat with small, generic objects? I'd vouch for his inclusion, if only he had a fighting system that was both interesting and justified.

I'm sure there is some way we can make him have a gimmick of his own without making it totally random.

I never played Scribblenauts, but I must ask. Does Maxwell require anything specific to make these drawings come to life? Ofcourse he has to draw it on a notepad, but are there different pencils or something to it?

I was thinking something like this. Press Down Special and he will be in an idle position where he takes his pad and pencil out. He will remain in an idle position, unless you press one of the 4 directional buttons. Each directional button has him creating a specific drawing. Not sure what the 4 should be but I'll let you guys decide that. Whichever of the 4 directional buttons you pick, he will draw and summon. Drawing should take like a few seconds. If interrupted, he has to start over. If successful, that drawing will temporarily assist him in battle.

Or we can do the same idea I just posted, except this. Instead of a single directional button, it can be a 2 or 3 button combo to add more depth to the character's playstyle. Pressing Up>Up>Down while he is in his Down Special Idle (his drawing state) will summon a specific character. Up>Up>Right will summon someone else. Down>Left>Right summons this, Right>Up>Down summons that. A 2-3 combo input might be a bit much, but it gives him more summon options and makes him less-predictable.

i love that idea of being in an idle state because in scribblenauts the olny thing that hold maxwell back is how long it takes to write the word and mabie the short combo will spawn a shorter word like a dog or cat to fight with him wile longer ones can summon stuff like sandworm or werewolf and a fun reference to the game each helper has some crazy adjectives on them like a pink fluffy bear (it wont have effect it will just be for looks) and one thing i have been thinking of is to truthfully be accurate to the game then maxwell's attacks will spawn a cool random melee weapon from the game like his normal combo and tilts could be him quickly spawning a sword (or lightsaber or some crazy cool wepon) and slashing kind of like the villager is smash 4 with his boxing gloves

(i did have alot of ideas for the rest of his move-set but i didn't like them too much but i could share if you want to see and those are all up for discussion for sure)

SK that's actually a really cool idea.

As for what Maxwell needs, he just needs his Magic Notebook, where he writes out the name of the object he wants to create. No limitations beyond time.
