| Quite a while ago, Traw, inspired by the Megaman videogames had suggested endless mode, which would consist of various rooms filled with enemies, occasionally interrupted by a boss room. Even before that, Nights Owl has suggested an "Arena" mode, in which you would fight incoming waves of enemies. So recently, it got me thinking, and perhaps, we could incorporate some sort of an "Endeless Classic" mode with the following features:
- The navigation and exploration feature; each time you clear a room, you are transitioned to a top-down labyrinth-like maze, where you move your character's panel. Then, you can chose which room to enter. Or, this could be done in 2D while you normally control your character.
- The ability to save your progress.
- Increasing difficulty, dependant on progress.
- Character battles, much like in the original Classic mode, but with randomized behaviour, attack speed, weight, size, pallete, movement speed and even modified special attack attributes.
- Same , but with waves of enemies.
- Randomized overpowered enemies that serve as bosses.
- Randomized stage hazards in character battles.
- Simplified and randomized stages with enemies and hazards.
- Randomized bonus stages.
- Maybe some RPG and/or Dungeon Crawling elements, such as treasure/loot, exploration, traps etc?
Of course, this could be too much of an effort. I don't know whether anyone would play this. Well, excpet for me and Traw, possibly. |

| Thanks.
Regarding the treasure/loot thing it could consist of collectables, healing items and weapons with randomized attributes (green beam swords that freeze, for example).
All of this would require some sort of an inventory system I guess. |
