Nintendo won't let EVO stream Melee

Probably won't change anything when it gets it's signatures, but this thread is more about awareness of the issue than the petition itself.  Nintendo is just giving it's entire devoted Melee community the finger.

This is probably part of nintendos thing with not letting people make money with their videos.

Nintendo is just another company; another money-grubbing piece of piss company.

The reason why i think they did it in the first place is because they don't want Smash Bros to be viewed in the same light as Street Fighter, Marvel Vs Capcom and all the other not so accessible on a wide level fighters.

However, it appears all the negative reaction forced them to back track on this.

I think it has to do with what Giga said. Nintendo has even cracked down on "Let's Play" videos.

On the contrary, it escalated very, very quickly and Nintendo realized they were pissing off a very large crowd of fans who put their own money into the event.

They not only tried to shut down the stream, but the Melee event itself.

It was all a misunderstanding.
Nintendo thought it was a paid event using their game to make a profit.

What likely got them to stop trying to stop the stream was not the voice of the people, but the fact that it is being used for charity to support Breast Cancer research.

(Though at the same time, if you have to use something like having Melee at EVO in order to get people to willingly donate to such charity, that says how shallow humanity really is.)
