Well, he's arguably the best Melee player. Sorta like the M2K of Brawl, although to a lesser extent. I'm personally not surprised, he's pretty smart for quitting while he's ahead.

Yeah, I knew that. I still don't see the big deal. The guys good at a video game. Who cares? x_x

The big deal is that if you are a competitive player yourself, this guy is probably one of your idols. It's not much different from your favorite sports player or celebrity quitting while in their peak. Depending on your interests, this can easily be a big deal.

No, to a greater extent. M2K lost the last two Apex's in a row, Armada won them. Armada was undefeated champ, M2K has wins and losses. If you didn't see the Brawl GF's of Apex 2013 i highly recommend it, one of my favorite matches ever.

why is it a thing to "retire" from a video game like you just stop playing it
