I know right?  Golurk's pokedex entry even confirms he his an artificial pokemon, and a robot to boot.  Why is he ground-ghost?

But on to the topic at hand, I might do the same thing as you (Chespin, Squirtle, Torchic) but I wanted to leave a spot open for a new pokemon from this generation, namely the tree thing named Oorotto that we know nothing else about.  I don't know why, I guess I just like sentient trees.  Ever heard of Groot?

But I still really like Chesnaught.  I guess I could go with Greninja though.....

I didn't have this problem in Black and White cause Snivy, or rather, Serperior, and Tepig, or rather, Emboar, sucked badly.  Here, while none are amazing, all are about the same level of quality, and that level is decent.

Guess I'll ask what pokemon my friend is getting and then get the one that counters him.

I do. I make it a rule that unless one is dual typed, I don't have two of the same type on my team.

Although, I guess Chesnaught is part fighting.

I just train Pokemon that I find useful to train and I've been using for a long while.

Since I'm getting both games I'm gonna do one playthrough with all three starters, like I did with White. I'll probably go Fennekin for my other playthrough.

Idk what I'll do for teams, I don't usually plan ahead and go with what I find and like. I'll probably go with rarer Pokemon like I did with my Silver and Red recently (Dunsparce, Jiggs, Clefairy, Pikachu, etc).

im probably gonna get y because yveltal looks better but i don't use legendaries anyway so im not sure if i wanna go through with that

Everyone seems to like the final grass evo here so it may be different this time around

Clearly that info contradicts each other. Seeing as you showed leaked shots of three new Pokémon, and none of them are on the full list you post too. Don't get me wrong though, these look genuine, but it physically can't be the full list. Also I do find it strange that there are no "Mega" variations of new Pokémon, I at least expect Mega Greninja, Delphox and Chesnaught.

Assuming it's real, I'm going to need a Gengar badly.

Don't know if your list is true, but if it is, then I am SO GETTING that Ghost/Grass Trevenant, no matter which starter I get (Probably Chesnaught, I've really warmed up to him).

Although seeing Trevenant's pre evo, and the other ghost-grass type.....

...you don't think he's exclusive to pokemon X, do you?  I didn't pre order Y or anything but I had my heart set on Yvetal over Xerneas.

Also, @Furry, it was confirmed by Nintendo that none of the new pokemon will be able to mega evolve.  I'll try to find the article I read this in.

Apparently my copy of X has already been dispatched yesterday, so in theory I'm actually looking at getting it tomorrow.

Also, Serebii has a list of the new Pokémon. There are less than usual, only 68. There are no breaks in PokéDex numbers so it seems they got all, except obviously the possibility of unrevealed Legends after the box Legends.
