I know the stage poll is close to ending, but with Pokemon Musical recently gathering strong support due to a strong campaign, I felt like this last minute idea still has a shot at being among the last 4 to make it. So without further interuption, I propose......

GEOMETRY WARS

GW is a arcade style shump in which you control a ship blasting geometric-based enemies on a rectangular playing field. The objective is to survive as long as possible, and score as much points as you can. Here is some gameplay to entice you.

-Yes, this series is Nintendo relevant, with Geometry Wars: Galaxies being both on the Wii and DS.

Quick side note: I forgot to mention that it is possible to reduce/destroy the black holes by attacking them. Of course, this can be dangerous if enemies are being sucked in while doing so.

So what do you think? Would you like to see this stage be amongst the final four?

the design sucks but the game was good, played the PSP hack/port quite a bit when i finally got PSP homebrew working

i would honestly suggest a stage which is very simple in layout but heavy in hazards if this game were to be a stage

[23:11:54] Dela Mochimazzi : i have a second idea but i would need to ask jak something about our stage system first
[23:12:48] Mr. Mistress : Can I hear it anyway?
[23:13:52] Dela Mochimazzi : pokefloats
[23:14:14] Dela Mochimazzi : the main stage platform is the ship
[23:14:23] Dela Mochimazzi : it occasionally rotates
[23:14:45] Dela Mochimazzi : probably once per minute, one large enemy will show up
[23:14:57] Dela Mochimazzi : and smaller versions will spawn and move around as hazards, attacking the players
[23:15:19] Mr. Mistress : The ship will rotate and shoot the large enemy right?
[23:15:28] Dela Mochimazzi : after some time the ship will blow up the enemy and then move on to another type
[23:16:01] Mr. Mistress : Is the ship the only platform?
[23:16:18] Dela Mochimazzi : the large version of the enemy could be a second platform in each version

I played Geometry Wars and it felt like Asteroids... why do we need both?

Depending on what we're aiming for (general popularity or Nintendo relevance), we should get in one of these. Asteroids, Space Invaders AND Geometry Wars is pushing it. I'd prefer Asteroids as that was not such flashy-lights-heavy game, is more well-known and could look pretty unique if done right.

Ya know, you two do have a point there. Maybe I should've thought of that before making this decision. I recently just remembered just how much fun Geo Wars, and thought how great of a stage it would make.

Te enemy on the left reminds me kinda of The player in this one atari game I can't remember. Why not have a stage based off that atarigame or maybe polybius the game that was removed off shelves by the men in black because it caused nightmares and even suicide.
